As a professional captain I have been using the app for the last 8 years both in the Mediterranean and across the oceans of the Pacific and Atlantic 
It has proved to be an extremely useful and accurate tool for record keeping of the passages and travels on board.
The yacht owners are always very impressed with the detailed PDF log book l can give them 
This is such a great feature

Bei vielen Freizeitkapitänen wird heute überhaupt kein Logbuch mehr geführt. Ich persönlich habe immer Logbuch geführt, allerdings mehr als Törn Tagebuch, auch als Nachschlagewerk für die nächsten Urlaube. Alle Grunddaten über Wetter etc. sind hier schon automatisch und sehr korrekt dokumentiert. Ergänzt durch eigene Bilder in den Einträgen und Text ist das Logbuch perfekt für meine Zwecke. Ich finde es auch klasse, dass sie zu kaufen ist und kein Abo abgeschlossen werden muss. Die App ist quasi selbsterklärend und die Basisfunktionen sind einfach mit 3 Klicks zu bedienen. Trotzdem gibt es sehr viele Funktionen, die keine Wünsche offen lassen. Auch toll, dass die Einträge sich zwischen. iPhone und iPad synchronisieren. Falls mal eine Frage offen ist reagiert Florian persönlich innerhalb kürzester Zeit sehr kompetent. Sehr schön ist auch der pdf Export. Das Logbuch ist einfach zu teilen und somit auch zu archivieren als Nachschlagewerk. Was mir nicht gut gefällt an der App? Ich habe noch nichts gefunden. Uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung!

Diese App ist klar für Segler entwickelt und somit sind einige Einträge für den Bereich Motoryacht nicht zutreffend. Was zunächst etwas verwirrt, löst sich jedoch bei genauerem Hinschauen und Verwendung der App ganz schnell auf. Hierbei muss hervorgehoben werden, dass der Support durch den Entwickler vorbildlich ist. Fragen werden rasant schnell beantwortet und auch die „dummen“ Fragen des IT-Dinos mit großer Geduld abgearbeitet! Ich selbst bin seit über 30 Jahren auf der Adria und im Mittelmeer unterwegs und das Führen des Logbuchs war immer eine sehr lästige abendliche Aufgabe, die schon am Morgen mit der Notiz zur Uhrzeit für „Ablegen“ oder „Anker lichten“ begann. All das ist nun nicht mehr nötig obwohl ich beim diesjährigen Törn mein altes „analoges“ Logbuch noch weitergeführt habe (einfach, um ganz sicher zu sein..). Kurzum, diese App ist ein Hilfsmittel, dass ich nicht mehr missen möchte! Es soll, wie ich höre, auch noch eine Version für die Motoryacht geben, wobei nur noch an wenigen Punkten kleine Ergänzungen wünschenswert sind. Es gibt, wie ich inzwischen weiß, auch ein kleines elektronisches Handbuch, auf das leider derzeit in der App noch nicht hingewiesen wird. Für den Einsteiger ist das sehr hilfreich, zumal für diejenigen, die noch aus dem „analogen Zeitalter“ kommen... Letzte Anmerkung: ich habe auch andere Logbuch-Apps probiert. An die Qualität dieser App kam kein anderes dieser Hilfsprogramme heran!
Nachtrag: Ich verwende diese App nun seit 7 Jahren. Wir fahren 2 Törns/Jahr und haben inzwischen über 650 NM auf der Uhr. Die positive Bewertung ist geblieben. Florian entwickelt die App kontinuierlich weiter. Für den Anwender besonders interessant ist, dass man über alle Einträge suchen kann - auch wenn man z.B. in einem Hafen vor 3 oder 4 Jahren gewesen ist!

Ich habe die App erst vor vier Tagen gekauft. Ich hätte das schon sehr viel früher tun sollen! Mein handschriftliches Logbuch war bislang eher nachlässig geführt und wenig detailliert. Mit der App habe ich jetzt ein umfangreiches und detailliertes Logbuch. Ich entdecke jeden Tag neue Funktionen und bin vermutlich noch lange nicht Ende. Für mich macht es den Eindruck, als ob der Entwickler Praktiker ist und eigene Anforderungen in der App umgesetzt hat. Die Möglichkeit der Synchronisation zwischen iPad und iPhone ist ebenfalls ausgesprochen praktisch und ermöglich es uns getrennt Einträge vorzunehmen.

Ich bin Profi Skipper und benutze beide Apps seit mehr als 3 Jahren. Ein Fach top. Ich hatte mal Problem mit meinem Telefoneinstellungen. Die wurden schnell und unbürokratisch erklärt und beseitigt. Ich bin von Anfang an begeistert. 
Und der Author Entwicklt immer noch weiter.

This is a great application. It is very easy to use and the interface is intuitive. I use this app for all of my sailboat excursions. It helps keep track of my miles and hours for my captains license. It also makes it easy to keep a log with accurate information. In addition with the record Photo function the log becomes an excellent keepsake of each trip. When I get home I print it up and put it in the book on the coffee table. The auto record function is incredibly useful and accurate. I can't say enough good things about this application. Customer support is excellent and personalized. This app was written by someone who knows how to sail.

Schade, dass man nun neueste iPads benötigt. Gerade für solche Apps, die im Hintergrund laufen, täte es ein älteres Gerät (z. B. 4 Jahre alt), das zu wenig Speicher hat um das neueste iOS installieren zu können. Das Problem liegt aber in der Apple-Philosophie und nicht beim Logbuch.

**Developer response:** Schade ist 1. dass es nicht stimmt was Du schreibst und 2. Du Dich nicht an mich für Support wendest sondern diesen für mich schädigenden Weg einer negativen Bewertung wählst. Im Detail:

1. Wenn Dein Speicherplatz für das Update nicht ausreicht dann musst Du eben kurzfristig Speicherplatz frei machen! Die Mindestvoraussetzung habe ich von iOS13 auf iOS 15 erhöht. Es gibt aber kein iPad und auch kein iPhone das heute iOS 13 - oder wie Du iOS 14 - installiert hat und nicht auch kompatibel für iOS 15 ist! 

2. Und wenn Du dazu Hilfe brauchst kannst Du Dich an mich wenden für Support, aber bitte nicht über diesen Weg :-(

I found the app very useful on our recent trip, especially with the NMEA integration. The developers were also very prompt in sorting out any issues, which were understanding from my part rather than app issues.

We are currently live aboard and using the every time we are on going out on the water. It is easy to use and provides an excellent records of time sailed or motored. Export into PDF provides a solid record of the season and area sailed.

Was für ein Glück, dass es Segler gibt, die eine derart erstklassige App programmieren. Ich nutze die App nun seit ca. 5 Jahren und möchte definitiv nicht mehr drauf verzichten. Jeweils zum Ende der Saison speichere ich das bzw. die Logbücher als PDF, so habe ich die Sicherheit, dass sie mir nie verloren gehen werden, selbst für den hoffentlich nie eintretenden Fall, dass die Entwicklung mal eingestellt wird. Erstklassig ist übrigens auch der Support. Alle Daumen hoch!

I start using that App the last days on my sailing to Scotland. It was perfect working, collect all NMEA data from my Wifi device. The integrated Barometer in the iPhone adds the air pressure. Very easy to use. Well done. Recommend this App

We use this app every single time we head out on our 35 foot Beneteau sail boat.  We have compiled a solid reference of all the places we’ve traveled an lot of valuable statistics.

The other great thing is that Florian (developer of the app) will get back to you personally - promptly - to answer any question you might have.

I highly recommend this app.

Wir haben vor einigen Wochen auf der Ostsee das Lokbuch zum ersten Mal eingesetzt und die App schnell lieben gelernt. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass es für uns über diesen Weg viel einfacher ist, das Logbuch konsequent zu führen. Dabei haben wir bisher noch nicht einmal die automatischen Funktionen sowie eine Anbindung an NMEA benutzt. Der Entwickler, Florian Kriesche, hat sofort reagiert, wenn wir eine Verständnisfrage gestellt haben und ist wirklich kundenorientiert.

This app is not reliable. It quits without warning and the mileages get all messed up. It’s trying to get too sophisticated. KISS in this kind of application would be better. Trying to get automatic weather and other online applications makes it unreliable for offshore use. Looking for other apps.

Good app but its surprisingly missing some key features of a true log book. First, no ability to add notes to a log entry such as how the mood is aboard, notes about a particular anchorage, comments about the voyage so far. Second, you can’t modify the “status” of entries so you can’t add an entry that you’ve docked the vessel, rafted up with a buddy boat, or anything other than the cookie cutter options coded into the app so there is no good way to signify in the log that you’ve ended the trip. Third, there is a “maintenance” section but no way to add maintenance items that need to be performed or completed. Over all the app needs more ability for users to customize entries, notes, details, and lists. Like most apps out there it’s close but doesn’t quite come through and wow you. It’s almost like the author got bored and quit before it was finished. At $15 you should think twice about what you want from this app. If you just want something to capture your lat-long and heading then it’s okay, but if you are a true boater/sailor at heart and are used to keeping a true log book this app, like most, falls short.

**Developer response:** 1. You can add notes. In fact to each log entry. Of course they show also up in the exported formats like PDF. I could imagine you accidently created a 'locked' logbook where you can only adjust logs up to 5 minutes after they are created, because in regular logbooks there is no limitation at all.
2. Of course you can change the status of each record! Also retrospectively. Actually you can change all values afterwards if you like. But again you obviously created unintentionally a 'locked' logbook, this is not the default setting, but in this mode you can't change anything after 5 minutes. (Some users like it that way)
3. Maintenance section. Of course you can add maintenance items! It is actually designed for exactly doing that! You can also assign due dates, filter for specific maintenance items and so on. Maybe this is again the same missunderstanding you had with topic 1 & 2. It is also well described on my website how it works. Go on my website, click the top menu > More > Maintenance Records.
4. I'm sad you have the feeling I'm bored and stoped to enhance the app. The change log of the app should proof that this is not the case. I regularly implement new features and track all feature requests from users on my website.

This is a great app for long distance sailing but there are a few improvements that would make it perfect. 

You don't seem to be able to save your boat details, but have to add it all again every time you open a new logbook. 

You can't set it to auto record for course change, unless you get hundreds or 1000  of records. And you can only multi deleted from end to a set time/date. Not choose your own. So for short handed sailing it can be a bit of a challenge. 

But I do like that you can add a record, then fill in details later, if you can remember or have written down what you did at that time. 

Would e great if you could work out how to connect to the NEMEA on your boat. There is no configuration in settings as support suggested to connect to your boats data.

**Developer response:** Hello Hagar54, I’m sorry to hear about your problems, but actually not all of them are true or misunderstandings. Please contact me. It’s always disappointing for me to answer simple support questions in (bad) review notes.

1. You can define the default settings for each logbook. Go to iOS settings > Logbook > and adjust your default values. Now each new logbook will have the defined (Crew, Boat detail etc.)

2. The course change identification is based on the device internal compass, so if you put your phone into your pocket it will turn and create a mass of records. 

3. Finally NMEA: I explained on my website and in the update description that you please should contact me to get the instructions how to enable NMEA capability in the app. As this feature is still in beta state and I would like to go along with everyone using NMEA to avoid bad experience.

It was not immediately intuitive to me, and is taking a while to get settings where I want them. Will persist with the app to give it a fair chance.

**Developer response:** Hello Tony, I'm sad to hear you are disappointed, and my app could not convince you from switching from analoge to digital. But please contact me directly if you feel something is not working properly. Because I can't provide support in App Store reviews, as I even don't know if you ever receive this response. Usually it emphasizes to be a misunderstanding if you start too early in customizing setting before understanding what they are really belonging to. I know the app could be less complex, but this would not satisfy all the requirements of all the professional skippers who have several  requirements in digital logbooks and who helped to make the app what it is today. However, also for very simple use cases, the very basic usage was designed to be as intuitive and simple as possible (as long as you do not deep dive into specific functions and adjust them). Independent to that, if you have any specific suggestions of a feature set or function that could be more intuitive, I'm very happy to get your concrete suggestions for improvement as long as it could satisfy other users as well. For all others RTFM or please contact me before complaining, I'm very happy to support you in finding the specific settings that fit exactly your needs. In 99% the setting you are looking for is already available ;-)

Ich verwende die Software jetzt seit vier Jahren auf einem Segelboot und bin sehr zufrieden.

Die Grundfunktionen sind intuitiv zu bedienen, und man findet immer wieder neue Möglichkeiten, da die Software permanent weiter entwickelt wird.

Well apparently I’ve been using it for almost three years! 
It’s a fantastic tool for recording almost everything I do on the boat. Florian has steadily improved it over time and to be honest it’s well worth the subscription. 
Only problem I have is my wife gets annoyed when I grab my phone every time we change from motoring to sailing or anchored. No complaints from a very happy user. 
Haven’t tried printing anything yet having always transferred to a written record but I’ve a feeling printing may well be the way to go. 
Keep up the good work.

Die App bietet wirklich alles, was das Herz begehrt und wenn irgendwo einmal Schwierigkeiten auftauchen, die auch einfach nur mit falschen Einstellungen oder dem verwendeten Gerät zusammenhängen, dann gibt es einen super qualifizierten, hilfsbereiten und mega schnellen Support! Besser geht wirklich nicht!

Gestern bin ich von einem Segeltörn zurück gekommen, bei dem ich zum ersten mal die App ernsthaft als Logbuch verwendet habe. Die letzten 23 Jahre habe ich mein Logbuch immer auf Papier geführt. Aus meiner Sicht ist das mit dieser App nicht mehr notwendig. Die Protokollierung ist super, jeder Kurswechsel wird vermerkt, Wetterdaten werden automatisch erfasst. Wie gut die App bei Blauwasserfahrten ohne Zugang zum Internet funktioniert, werde ich kommendes Jahr testen. Auch bei einem Verlust des Schiffes bin ich noch unsicher, ob das Logbuch 1. als Dokument dient, 2. ob ich es dann noch abrufen kann. Bisher bin ich super glücklich und der Preis ist mehr als ein Schnäppchen, für das, was sie leistet. Vielen Dank an den oder die Entwickler für die tolle Arbeit. Was ich mir noch wünschen würde (vielleicht habe ich es noch nicht entdeckt) wäre eine Funktion, in der ich die Logbücher der einzelnen Törns verwalten kann. Ich würde die App wieder kaufen und zusätzlich ab und an mal einen Kaffee spendieren.

Seit Jahren eine gerne genutzte App für Segeltörns. Wenn die App einmal richtig eingestellt ist, was Törndokumentation angeht, Autoeinträge, Quellen für die Wetterdaten, etc. hat man eine große Erleichterung, kann schnell und problemlos Einträge machen. Sie schreibt die Streckenführung, Kursänderungen selbstständig mit. Am Ende hat man alles dokumentiert und zusätzlich saubere Auswertungen der Tagesstrecken oder des Gesamttörns. Kann sie nur empfehlen!

A great app for use on motorboat or yacht I would imagine. I use this on a motor cruiser and it is perfect for daily log use.

Ich nutze die App seid 4 Jahren in denen sie mir unaufdringlich im Hintergrund zu Diensten ist und mein Logbuch führt. Früher habe ich Daten stündlich von Displays auf Papier gebracht. Das passiert heute vollautomatisch, das meisten kommt direkt aus dem NMEA Feed. Bei Internetverbindung wird das dann auch noch über den Server auf z.B. das iPhone verteilt und auf dem Server vorgehalten. Damit ist es mit entsprechender Datensicherung besser aufgehoben, als es die Information auf Papier im Havariefall wäre.

Im Vergleich zu einem deutlich teureren Wettbewerber schätze ich die Unaufdringlichkeit der App. Die reine Aufzeichnung passiert in Hintergrund, mehr notiere ich im Normalfall auch nicht. Ist doch etwas Prosa zu ergänzen, ist das iPhone schnell zur Hand und der Text diktiert oder getippt bzw das Foto geschossen. 

Das letzte Update hat noch mal eine große Lücke geschlossen, indem jetzt auch die Füllstände meiner Tanks, die Betriebsstunden des Motors automatisch mit erfasst werden können. Allerdings gehört schon einiges dazu, dies über die regular Expressions zu konfigurieren.
Über die Motordrehzahl den Status von Segel zu Motor und zurück mit erfassen zu lassen, wäre noch der Hammer, aber sicherlich nicht trivial. 

Insgesamt spürt man, wie viel Gedanken in der App stecken, so dass sie weitestgehend intuitiv im Hintergrund ihren Dienst versieht.

Die Logbuch-App nutze ich seit mindestens 6-8 Jahren. Sie ist einfach zu bedienen und deckt dennoch sehr viele komplexe Szenarien ab. 
Der Support durch den Author/Entwickler ist großartig und zeitnah, klasse!
Seit das Tool auch die Synchronisierung mit mehreren Geräten kann, bin ich wunschlos zufrieden. Wenn ich doch mal einen Verbesserungsvorschlag habe, kommt immer häufiger eine Beschreibung, wie's geht was ich vermisse. Sprich: alles schon da!

Zugegeben, 17,99€ für eine einfache Logbuch -App mag einem teuer erscheinen, aber dieses App ist wesentlich mehr Wert wie ein Kinobesuch oder ein Schnitzel mit Pommes!! Ich behaupte von mir ein gewissenhafter Skipper zu sein und diese App ersetzt dir nicht das führen eines Logbuches, aber es unterstützt dich bei allen Aufgaben. Egal ob es Position, Wetter, Wind oder die An-/Ablegezeiten sind, die App hilft dir dabei. Besonders liebe ich die Tracking Funktionen. Egal ob es die Karten Ansicht in der App oder die Live-Tracking-Funktion über das Internet, wo du Freunden und Verwandten per Internet-Link dein aktuelle Position und deinem Track mitteilen kannst, ist gigantisch. Das wichtigste kommt aber zum Schluss. Egal ob du Probleme mit der App, Wünsche oder Anregungen hast, oder einfach mal eine Frage hast, Florian hilft dir weiter!! Vielen Dank Florian, weiter so!
