## What is Shiv Darshan?

Shiv Darshan opens with Today: a simple, sourced guide to what to do right now — the day's observance, mantra and ritual, correct for your tradition.

Then go deeper: a 108-bead japa mala with a temple-dark mode, a mantra library with meaning and transliteration, the 21-day Arc, a daily verse from the Shiva Purana, and a yatra planner across a hundred-odd Shiva temples — in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi.

Free. No ads, no subscription, nothing locked behind a paywall.

Today. Know exactly what to do today — the ritual for the day's observance in your tradition, step by step, sourced, never guesswork.

Darshan. A still surface to sit in front of, with the chant, when you want the practice and not the reading.

Practice. A tactile 108-bead japa mala for your mantra count; a library of Shiva mantras — Om Namah Shivaya, Mahamrityunjaya, Rudrashtakam, Shiva Tandava Stotram, Shiva Lingashtakam — each with transliteration and a plain-language meaning; the 21-day Arc for a guided intention practice; and a daily verse from the Shiva Purana with its source named.

Ask. Type a question and receive a grounded, AI-generated answer in your own language, drawn from the app's own material. It answers about Shiva; it never speaks as him.

Correct for your tradition. India follows two lunar calendar conventions — Purnimanta in the north, Amanta in Maharashtra and the south — and the same festival falls in a different month under each. Shiv Darshan picks yours up from your device, names it on the screen, and shows the right dates for Shravan, Somvar, Pradosham and Shivaratri — changeable any time in Settings.

In your language. English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi — chosen from your device the first time you open the app.

Honest by design. We would rather show you less than show you something untrue. Where a feature is not ready we leave it out instead of faking it. Observance times are approximate, and traditions differ by region and by family — the app says so on the screen rather than claiming an authority it does not have. Shiv Darshan is an independent, for-profit app; it is not a temple, trust, or religious charity.
