I feel terrible for not having switched sooner. Nothing scans correctly and things stay in queue forever. Wild to pay $9.99 a month for so long and there are few if any upgrades. I end up manually entering and still it stays unprocessed. Not even sure why I’ve been paying them when I need to do all the work at this point. Recently, for the first time EVER, there was some issues with the app and I had to reach out to customer support. They were veeeery responsive and the issue was resolved in a matter of days. Moreover, they followed up with me to ensure the issue had been resolved. As a small business owner, keeping track of my receipts is an important part of my business and Shoeboxed has never let me down. ### 5/5 — Virtual Shoebox *2023-04-27, version 7.0.4* Definitely serves its purpose! Been using this app for 3+ years (free version), and haven’t had any issues! It has save me a ton of time and it is very easy to use. They recently did an upgrade and there was a minor glitch and I reported it. They actually cared and emailed me several times until they did an update and fixed it. They are very customer service friendly. And the receipts from the app do not sync with desktop online version since April 14th; when I installed the update on my iPhone. ### 1/5 — New App is slooooooow *2023-04-20, version 7.0.3* The revamp looks nice but takes several seconds to load screens, save changes, etc. It also takes days to finish syncing. This is probably due to having receipts since 2005. The old one only loaded what was needed and performed all tasks very quickly. I made a typo when entering an expense category and come to find out there is NO way to edit or delete a category. The unwanted category remains indefinitely. Unless this is fixed I recommend not purchasing this. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years and I’m sorry to see an app with this poor implementation. While I may be on an old and slow phone iPhone 7, I am uptodate on iOS and other apps work fine. This is so slow it takes over 4 minutes to post one receipt. I’ve already lost interest by them, lost the receipt and wish I could lose the phone. ### 1/5 — Bad changes *2023-04-22, version 7.0.3* Until the recent updates, this was a great app. The new updates have slowed it down tremendously, the pictures now stay on the phone, and they import in all which directions (upside down, sideways). Every time they have exceeded my expectations. ### 5/5 — Great Upgrade! *2026-04-06, version 7.1.4* I’ve used Shoeboxed for years and have always liked it. I use it mostly for miles. With the upgrade, I don’t have to name my trips because the app makes note of where I’ve been. I only have to tell it if the miles are business, medical, or charity, and the app takes care of the rest. No more dropping a pin every time I get out of the car. (No more forgetting to drop that pin.) I will say, on the small downside, that a couple of my trips have been short changed by a couple of miles, with the app pointing to a location I didn’t stop at, before I got to my destination.
