## What is ShommyX Meet?

ShommyX Meet is video meetings built for real phones on real networks.

Start a meeting, share a five-character code, and talk. The people you invite don't need an account — they tap the link and they're in. No install, no sign-up wall between someone and the meeting they were invited to.

WATCH WHAT YOU SPEND
Most video apps hide what they cost you in data. ShommyX Meet shows a live meter of how much you have used, and lets you choose: audio only, low, standard or HD. Audio-only runs about 45 MB an hour for a five-person meeting. You decide, and you can see the result while it is happening.

MEETINGS THAT KEEP RUNNING
Switch to another app mid-meeting and the audio keeps going, so stepping out to check a message does not drop you from the room.

FOR PEOPLE WHO RUN THINGS
• Recurring meetings — the same code works next week, and the week after
• A waiting room, so nobody walks in before you are ready
• Co-hosts who can help moderate
• Breakout groups
• Polls, Q&A with upvotes, and raised hands in an orderly queue
• An attendance record of who came and how long they stayed
• Watch a shared screen from your phone, with the presenter's drawing on top

WHAT WE DON'T DO
We do not record your meetings — there is no recording feature and nothing is written to disk. In-meeting chat is not kept. We do not sell your data and we do not advertise to you.

Free meetings run up to 90 minutes. Guests never pay — the person who books the room is the person who pays for it, and everybody they invite gets the meeting for free.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.9 — 2026-10-06

If you turned off the microphone or camera for Meet, you can now switch it back on from inside the meeting: Meet tells you what happened and opens the right page in Settings for you.

Bug fixes and reliability improvements.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-27

Meeting reminders.

ShommyX Meet can now send you a notification before a meeting starts, so a programme you signed up for does not go by while your phone sits in your pocket. You are asked whether you want them after you sign in, and you can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

Also in this release: a fix for a reconnection problem that could leave you audible to nobody after your connection dropped, and a fix for audio staying quiet after another app had played sound.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-19

Small improvements and fixes, and support for the latest iOS requirements.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-18

No release notes.
