Cool concept though **Developer response:** Thanks for trying it! You can play without ever paying. Every store drop includes a free claim, the Prize Wheel gives you a free spin a day, and the Time Capsule is free to open. On top of that you can earn coins from ads to spend in the store, trade with other collectors, and pick up a free scan for every friend you invite. Scans are the one thing we limit, because every shoobit is generated fresh and each one costs us real money to make. ### 1/5 — Good idea horrible execution *2026-08-13* Crashed constantly, also shoobits are all ai generated and have horrible white outline on everything **Developer response:** Fair title. Shoobox is a one-person passion project. The current build is at 100% crash-free. You were on 1.9.12, which ran 99.3%. If you give it another shot and still hit crashes, email contact@shoobox.app with your device and iOS version and I'll chase it down personally. On the art: nothing here is stock. Items you scan are made from your own photos, and I design a fresh set of drops myself every single day. ### 3/5 — Good idea but need to be further developed *2026-08-08* I really love the concept of this game, but as a new player, it gets overwhelming and confusing pretty fast. Right away, it feels like everything requires a ton of money, forcing you to watch endless ads or spend real cash just to make progress. Finding out the cool scanning feature seems to be locked behind a pro membership made it feel a lot less like a chill, casual game than I hoped. There are also a lot of mechanics that aren't explained well: -Elements pop up and vanish before I can figure out where they went. The calendar used to find trades completely disappeared after I used it once, and I have no idea how to get it back. -The trade system is confusing. I wanted to list a scanned item for other people to buy without losing my own copy, but the "mint/copy" option only appeared once and never showed up again. -There really need to be better, non-paywalled ways for new players to earn money and learn the systems. The idea here is great, but the user experience needs a lot of polishing. -had to delete at last because it made my phone go really hot when I'm running the game but overall i loved this idea and hopefully itll be popular and big so we get more active users in the trade😛😛 **Developer response:** Thank you for writing this out, this is the kind of feedback that actually moves things. The problem is the amount I’m paying for is barely any coins and scans. It is crazy. I’ve tried to scan things and it doesn’t get it right and now I’ve wasted a scan. I understand yall want to make money but I promise you if it was a just price you would make so much more. I’ve seen your response to earning coins with watching ads but this said ad gives you one singular coin and then you have to wait until the next shop drop. The wheel eats up most of my coins why is zilch even an option? Genuinely that’s messed up how many times I’ve gotten 0 lol. Also if I like an item I would like to be able to view them they just get lost. **Developer response:** Thanks for laying all this out, it's genuinely useful. You're right about the wheel, we're cutting how often it lands on zero so spins pay out something far more often. Coin packs are also getting much bigger at the same prices, that work is underway now. The ad reward will grow along with that change. A way to revisit items you've liked is on our list too. That loop was a bug on our end and it's fixed in version 1.9.12. Update from the App Store and you'll go straight into your room, with your account intact.
