### 4/5 — Would be a five Star

*2026-03-26*

The ballistics side of it works well, but since the big update I got a while back, I cannot get environmentals from the weather station, and I just got a Kestrel and it will not find it.

### 5/5 — Love the new field view option

*2026-02-06*

The developer was super quick to respond to complaints about a recent update, and added an optional simplified solution screen that is optimized for hunters. It’s great!

Without a doubt the best.

### 5/5 — Great app

Hands down the best ballistic calculator App on the market

### 5/5 — Great app and support

*2026-02-04*

Great app and support from the developer. Love the field view setting option and simplicity. This app is the real deal

### 5/5 — Great service!

*2026-02-04*

Best ballistic app on the market. A recent update made some big changes that weren’t well received by hunters but the developer took direct feedback and made more changes to restore the prior utility.

### 5/5 — Excellent Ballistic Engine

*2026-02-04*

Excellent app. Simple and intuitive to get data in the field and under stress. Plus it lets you use DA! It just plain works.

### 5/5 — Used for years

*2026-01-31*

I've used this app for years in all my hunting rigs and long range shooting. Tweak the different impact ranges and this is perfect every time. It recently upgraded with new view makes it even more user friendly and deadly accurate

### 4/5 — Version 2.0.0 update bug

*2026-01-31*

Version 2.0.0
Weather station has a glitch for atmospheric input. The elevation automatically sets to the lowest valued input -1000 feet.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the report. Altitude is taken from your phone, so please make sure precise location is allowed in order to query altitude from your device.

I was able to reproduce the -1000 altitude if I 1) left altitude blank in the main screen and 2) disabled altitude population from weather station in the Settings (Settings->Weather Station->Populate Altitude=OFF). The correct behavior here is to set altitude to 0 if it was left blank, so that will be fixed in the next update.

Please shoot me an email if (shooter@kndy.net) if this doesn't describe your issue.

### 5/5 — Simple and accurate

*2025-12-31, version 1.3.3*

I use it from 200-1000 yard competition and hunting. Used it for years. Don’t bother with any others. iPhone. Wish it worked as well for Ipad.

### 5/5 — Won’t find a better App for Hunt Calibers

*2025-09-27, version 1.3.3*

Used this for multiple calibers in multiple makes and models (Christensen, Sako, Tikka) in 6.5 Swede, Creed & PRC up to 300 PRC, and no other app available to this day is as easy to use or as accurate: verified consistency over and over again from 200 to 1200 yds!
Not sure about 22LR with the super light pills at low velocity; 22 creed you should be good, but don’t bash ‘em for 22LR, too lite, too slow to fight gravity and wind for any distance. Don’t know if any app would do much good on those, unless specialized for ultra lite target loads.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update without documentation

*2026-03-20, version 2.1.2*

The support for this is app is beyond terrible. App on iOS was updated, now the atmospheric settings and zero settings are changed and the preferences access is lost. Super frustrating.

### 1/5 — What have you done to this program?

*2026-02-23*

You have ruined this program! It was a great, simple to use program. Now it is over-complicated and just garbage! Copying ammo from one gun to another has been ridiculously difficult, and now it is apparently gone. The graph is gone. Thanks for ruining this program!!

**Developer response:** You can still duplicate; swipe right on firearm or ammo profiles.

If you feel the Advanced solution view is too complicated, try switching to the Field View which is similar to the old layout.

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-02-18*

I just downloaded the “update” and all the changes are so drastic and non user friendly I would go back to the previous version in a nano second. It’s so bad I’m going to delete the app and download bullet manufacturers version.

**Developer response:** Please try the Field View to get a similar experience to old app. Settings->Solution Display->Field.

### 1/5 — Ammo selection is inoperable

*2023-11-29, version 1.3.3*

Don’t waste your time when the ammo tab is non-selectable but absolutely required to calculate dialing. Worthless.

### 1/5 — Do not purchase!

*2023-04-23, version 1.3.3*

Do not purchase this app. It does not work in the least. The bullet library is far out of date. It does not pair with wind meter at all. Also it is not eligible for a refund.

### 1/5 — App Does Not Work!

*2023-03-14, version 1.3.3*

I paid for this app and it just constantly crashes. I immediately went to report the issue and request a refund and it’s not available apparently. Hopefully someone will read this and assist with that.

### 1/5 — Clarity of iPhone requirement prior to purchase

*2021-02-26, version 1.3.3*

There is no clear indication of the iPhone software requirement on the app purchase page. This resulted in me paying £9.99 for the app, only to find in the instruction manual that the minimum iPhone spec is iOS 8, which is not very pleasing when the spec of your iPhone is iOS 7. If I knew how to get a refund I’d be doing it now!!!!

### 1/5 — Won’t open anymore

*2021-02-08, version 1.3.3*

Used to love this app but it won’t even open now, definitely needs updated, made a great app then quit supporting it

### 1/5 — Temperature not coming in right from kestrel

*2020-11-20, version 1.3.3*

Temp is 76.5 def F. Showing as -7518... in app when paired with kestrel. Hope this gets patched.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy

*2020-01-22, version 1.3.3*

Don’t buy this app, terrible and inaccurate compared to my other one, wish I can get a refund

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love the new update!

*2026-06-16*

Was becoming extremely worried about this app becoming obsolete, but sure enough a major update that fixed all of my concerns and then some. Congrats developer and excited to get this app back in use!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2026-05-17, version 2.3.4*

Awesome app and have always liked the simplicity or it. It’s great it works with my Kestrel now. Only thing I liked it better when you laid the phone on top of the turret to get your look angle.

### 5/5 — Simple. Accurate.

*2026-04-30, version 2.3.4*

I have had this app since it came out.

Latest update is amazing. Sync to cloud and other devices. Range cards are nice. Bullet library is pretty good. Can adjust zero height, which most other apps don’t allow. (ie. zero 2” high at 100yd)Get weather data from station or kestrel.

I have used all the others: Hornady, Burris, Applied, etc etc. I always come back to this one.

My only wish is that the table could be air dropped instead of just email, as I do not use iOS mail app.

(Just figured out when viewing trajectory table you can tap and hold to select all text then paste into sheets, notes, Gmail etc.)

### 5/5 — New update is great

*2026-04-02, version 2.3.1*

Love the update! I like that you can calibrate now, nice for guys without a chronograph. Range card is cool too!

### 5/5 — Best App for Hunting Use

*2026-03-05*

I’ve been utilizing the shooter app for several years specifically for hunting. Recently the app was updated to improve overall functionality but lost some of the key features that allowed quick target solutions. The app developer listened to a specific group of highly knowledgeable users feedback and incorporated a field mode that provides the absolute best interface to quickly produce accurate solutions with minimal effort, increasing your time to engagement.

### 5/5 — On par with AB.

*2026-02-15*

Since we can’t get strelok anymore, I had been using applied ballistics. I am finding the ShooterApp to be just as good as AB. Possibly a little better. But the bullet library needs updated.

### 5/5 — Awesome silver

*2026-02-07*

This app is both powerful but intuitive and clean. If in doubt, buy it!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-02-07*

Really appreciate the dev team jumping on Rokslide and listening to the input from the community. Been using for years and will definitely keep using it now!

### 5/5 — Best ballistic app

*2026-02-07*

Used this app for years now and love it. The most recent update improved it significantly. It’s everything you need to get a quick ballistic solution and not a lot of extraneous BS.

### 5/5 — Best ballistic app

*2026-02-06*

This is the best app for real world practical shooting solutions. Developer is by far the most responsive to user feedback and the app is so much easier and simpler to use than other options for real world practical shooting. Wether out hunting in the field or shooting targets at distance this is what you want.
