This app is awesome because I can record everything right out in the open and it hurt looks like I'm texting! The accurate time stamps really help my reports sparkle because of the accuracy. Thank you!!!! ### 5/5 — Good stealth *2018-01-28, version 7.2* It Took a few shops for getting used to record mode being blue for on and gray for off with video being the opposite! It would be helpful to have a simple portrait oriented video walkthrough on 1st launch of how to juggle the key features. Some of us shoppers read enough instructions as it is and a change would be nice, lol. I had an instance where audio, video and pictures were screwing with each other AND I didn’t know what the heck was happening. I read the manual but it still took some practice to know what stealthy stuff happens and what doesn’t and what conflicts with the other. I’m looking forward to innovative features. I have ideas like, •It Would be cool to see partnership with audio transcription to text. •if there were ability to make all data (includes the audio and photos) of each “shop chat” a folder that’s accessible in iTunes file sharing that we can just drag out onto our desktop. •make photo export more organized. I hate that when I save photos they go in my camera roll with everything else. Is the easy workaround either to make these .jpg files have custom names relating to YY_MM_DD_ShopTitle when we access our smartphone data on 💻 ? •we can export individual photo copies in your app to any other but individually. The dining shops that require specific times of service were nearly impossible to get right. Then, I found this app. It’s great! A simple tap under the table, out of view, is all it takes to get exact service timings for reports. Great app! I wish I had found this app way back when I started. Do you know the challenge of trying to discreetly time or keep track of notes? This app does it all. With an interface looks like text messaging you can record start and stop times, even discreetly take pictures to verify descriptions later and verbally record notes which then are so much easier to “recall“ when it’s time to file those reports. ### 5/5 — Awesome app for mystery shopping! *2017-09-02, version 6.6* I love using this app when I do my mystery shops, instead of having to use three different ways to record information, everything is all in one place! I love how easy it is to mark time, add notes, record snippets of shops, and take photos undercover. The best part, when I report, it is all on one page and I can easily upload the notes to my laptop. My reporting time has increased and so has the shops I perform! This app is my single tool for smoothly executing successful shops time after time. I work for a variety of Mystery Shop companies doing mainly restaurant, hotel, and entertainment assignments requiring anything from to-the-second timings to names and/or pictures of every encountered staff member. In three years, I have only had one issue (long ago) that Saketh immediately responded to and I have had only success with this app ever since. I. LOVE. THIS. APP. If I could rate it 10 out of 5 I would!! ### 5/5 — Best utility designed for mystery shopping! *2017-04-23* Finally there is a uniquely designed tool for mystery shopping including a lot of features in one spot rather than constantly switching between camera, notes, stopwatch, etc. This app lets you capture the complete mystery shop assignment in one spot and everything is automatically time stamped to the second. Thanks for being part in it. ### 5/5 — Best Mystery Shopper Notes & Timestamp App Available in iOS *2017-04-09, version 6.2* As my Shop It app was not working Thursday night (I hadn't yet installed update to 6.2) when I had a shop to complete, I used the GeoVerify app to do my timings. It only confirmed for me how much more convenient the Shop It app is. For one thing, GeoVerify doesn't include the seconds on time stamps - just has hours/minutes. Also, you can't put all time stamps on one event - each timestamp is a separate event, so when you go to email the timestamps to yourself, you have to do each one separately - crazy! Definitely worth every penny! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY *2018-06-13, version 7.2* This app is so awful! First of all, why in the world does anyone need a giant blinking red banner at the top of your phone showing that you are using it? That’s hardly stealthy if someone texts and wakes up your phone. Then the try before you buy version lets you go forward or back on your audio recording in 15 second increments, but the app I wasted $17 on makes you try and drag a stupid slider bar to find something. Then there’s the issue where you can never figure out the right time on the recording anyhow, because it doesn’t match the time you were actually there. And that’s if it does actually record, because randomly you’ll hit record, get the annoying flashing red header, then go to listen to it while you’re writing your report and there’s nothing there. Why isn’t there a good mystery shopping app out there?? ### 1/5 — Not useful *2017-03-08, version 6.1* First if you have to get out of the app the app shuts down and closes your note. At that point you have to start a new note. Time marking is too sensitive and you get unneeded time marks. I lost a $75.00 job because the recordings are empty. So upsetting. ### 2/5 — Great Potential but Unreliable! *2018-08-17, version 7.2* This app has a ton of great features but if it runs in the background too long it crashes! I just lost a $40 shop because the app crashed and I lost my exact timings! I hope they can fix this. I see a black screen with a battery icon on the right top corner. ### 2/5 — Recording Feature Not Reliable *2015-06-21, version 3.3* I purchased this app mostly for the nice recording feature. I tested it at home (while using airplane mode as suggested) before a shop and it worked fine. Because of that I relied on it heavily during my shop where I made about 10 recordings - one that I even checked in store to be sure I got all of the relevant information. However when I got home, NONE of the recordings worked. Not even the one I tested at home. I am extremely disappointed and wish I could get a refund. The time stamp feature is nice so if that's all you want to use then you'll be fine. Just do not depend on the recording! ### 3/5 — One edition could make it perfect! *2022-04-24, version 10.2* I use this app for each and every shop I do. My only complaint is that it’s not able to disable my phones auto lock feature. There have been so many times that I realize after an interaction that despite not being on low power mode, my phones auto lock stopped my “secret mode” recording. Please request to be added to the disable auto lock apps (ie gps etc) for iOS. Having to tap my phone and accidentally adding a time stamp where it’s not needed is killing my notes! I paid to upgrade so I can’t recommend this app to other shoppers without mentioning this headache of missing possible crucial moments! 2022 update- is there any word on if the app will be added to disable auto locking of your phone while using? That is the one feature that I use most. I hate that I only get the 30 seconds before the auto lock ends the recording. I made the original review 2 years ago. Had to take it to 3 stars for the headache of lost footage. That’s the best way to make notes not seem obvious during shops to get a view of who you’re interacting with. ### 4/5 — Decent app *2018-04-04, version 7.2* Best one I’ve used. Great for taking notes while doing a long Shop. Great for tracking times to the second. Repeated asks to like on Facebook kind of annoying! Should be able to say no once and for all! ### 4/5 — Overall a great app for mystery shopping *2017-08-27, version 6.6* Overall a great app but a few minor annoyances If I email myself the event I want all videos and pictures and recordings attached too. I shouldn't have to manually email each to myself. Perhaps each event could also be its own folder in the iCloud Drive and everything stored there so I can see it from my Mac without having to email Also the hidden camera and send button could there be an option to swap them around. Too many times do I hit the return key while taking notes and I get the hidden camera warning instead of a new line. This is the only program I use for my mystery shopping excursions. Before Saketh introduced this app, I had to use a recording device for my timings, pictures and videos. This app does it all! All I need is my phone. I especially like the stealth camera feature and that the audio recordings are time-stamped to the second when replaying. I used to record with other apps and have to do the math to figure out what time an event happened by calculating time from the start or end time of the recording. The one-tap time stamp is very useful as well but I do tend to forget to record timings, so I always use audio as a backup. I have been using this app for several months and have only once lost a recording, but I believe I accidentally clicked something that caused that to happen. Audio recording continues even with phone on lock mode. ### 5/5 — Must have app *2018-12-14, version 8.0* This app is amazingly useful when mystery shopping. It allows to the second timing that I haven't found anywhere else. I know I don't use all the features but just for the timing ability alone, it's the best I've found.
