### 2/5 — Great when it works

*2026-08-31, version 2.3.20*

Pretty much unusable in its current state. Can’t view any items. All listings marked S sold out when it is available on the web app.

### 2/5 — App sucks.

*2026-08-26, version 2.3.20*

This app seriously sucks.

### 2/5 — Shipping

*2026-08-23, version 2.3.20*

You can find great items and good prices but to have it shipped is an insane price, it says that for 1lb-2lb jewelry it’s $11-18 to ship! Idkw it says the “shipping weight; 5lb” but then “actual weight: 2lb” why is there a huge difference in the weight!?

### 2/5 — App crashes & shipping is a little outrageous

*2026-08-22, version 2.3.20*

I spend a lot of money at Goodwill stores and even in the app if it makes sense, but the shipping, handling, and tax will almost double your total if you aren’t careful. Also the app freezes and crashes on me multiple times daily.

Pricing doesn’t ever make sense for shipping. For instance, $16 shipping and a $4 handling fee on a $9 necklace that weighs almost nothing is crazy lol.

You’re really not going to score a good deal at all on here, but it’s good if you’re looking for something that you can no longer find in stores. You’re gonna pay out the butt for it though. eBay and Depop are almost always cheaper with way better shipping rates.

Always remember whatever the total says- double it. After shipping, handling, and taxes that’s where you’ll end up lol. Great if you’re shopping for yourself, horrible if you’re trying to resell probably.

### 2/5 — Constantly freezes

*2026-08-17, version 2.3.20*

The app and the website are constantly freezing. I’ve lost many auctions to this issues. Also take note on their outrageous shipping fees before you bid. There can be a handling fee of $8 and they increase the weight by a pound or more so you’ll end up paying $17 to ship something that should cost $8.

### 2/5 — NEEDS TO BE UPDATED

*2026-08-07, version 2.3.20*

The shopping experience is great and you will find many awesome treasures, but there are some locations (Tacoma WA) that have starting bids you would find on eBay or in antique stores! The items are literally FREE for them so it makes no sense why they have some items starting at $50!! They try to get you by saying “free shipping”. Is it though?? The APP needs some serious updates! It freezes up way too much!!! Hence 2 stars!

### 1/5 — 🤷🏽‍♀️

*2026-07-27, version 2.3.20*

They shut down the app for maintenance every single day, but never do anything to it. The app frequently crashes or refreshes, has trouble loading. You can’t filter by size. The search tool is very verbatim, and won’t show “duck” instead of “ducks” etc. It’s difficult to browse through 40,000 items that I don’t want and can’t filter through. Some items are wildly overpriced, some are ripped and dirty, just like at the store. They charge too much for shipping: shipping for a necklace would be $5.50, not $8.50. So they profit on the shipping too. I always think about how much money the CEOs make, but the poor people taking these photos only make minimum wage. They won’t let you sign up with a PO Box, so I can’t give them any money even if I wanted to. I just deleted the app. Not worth the hassle.

### 2/5 — expensive shipping

*2026-07-25, version 2.3.20*

cheap items but the shipping cost is usually 15-25 dollars extra

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2026-07-16, version 2.3.20*

It crashes every time I try to open it. I can’t even sign on.

### 3/5 — High pricing ?

*2026-07-08, version 2.3.20*

I am writing because I am deeply disappointed with the direction Goodwill appears to be taking, particularly with the pricing of donated items on your online marketplace.

Every item you receive was donated at no cost by people who believed they were helping a charitable organization serve the community. Donors do not give their belongings so they can be marked up and sold at prices that often rival—or even exceed—retail stores.

I understand that Goodwill needs revenue to fund its programs, but there is a significant difference between supporting a nonprofit mission and appearing to capitalize on free donations. When shoppers see donated items priced like collector's items or brand-new retail merchandise, it creates the impression that Goodwill has shifted its focus from community service to maximizing profits.

Many families rely on thrift stores because they cannot afford traditional retail prices. Donors also expect their contributions to remain accessible to those who need them most. Pricing donated goods beyond the reach of everyday people undermines the very purpose many believe Goodwill exists to fulfill.

I urge Goodwill to take an honest look at its pricing practices and ask whether they truly reflect the organization's stated mission. If the public continues to see greed instead of generosity, you risk losing the trust of both donors and shoppers. Once that trust is lost, it is difficult to regain.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Goodwill has the opportunity to demonstrate that its mission is about serving communities rather than squeezing the highest possible dollar from items that were freely donated by generous people.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response.

### 1/5 — Trust issues

*2026-07-08, version 2.3.20*

This auction platform appears to manipulate its bidding process. For example, an item was sitting at $15. I refreshed the page continuously for about 10 minutes and the price never changed. The moment I placed a bid of $16, I was instantly outbid. I refreshed the page again for a couple of minutes—still no changes. I then bid $18, and again I was outbid immediately. Out of curiosity, I placed a bid of $70, and within the same second, I was outbid once more.

From my experience, this does not look like a fair or transparent auction. It creates the impression that bids are being artificially driven up, which seriously undermines trust in the platform.

### 2/5 — The worst things about good will

*2026-06-29, version 2.3.20*

First it has the ugliest clothing and it has stuff that looks like it has stains! I looked one glimpse of this app and it sucked I looked for 4th of July stuff and it didn’t have any! I hate thrift stores.Ugh!😡

### 1/5 — Worst app ever!!

*2026-06-28, version 2.3.20*

If I could give less reviews I would. App is clunky, Goodwill will overpriced items and shipping is ridiculous! Don’t waste your time!

### 4/5 — This is a good app but…

*2026-06-27, version 2.3.20*

When i check a item it says that its been sold out despite being listed still

### 3/5 — Shipping Costs/Issues

*2026-06-17, version 2.3.20*

The shipping rates vary WILDLY! I have paid $10 for a heavy item and was quoted $20 to ship a single cotton shirt?! The app crashes and often doesn’t show item photos. However, I have gotten incredibly good deals on items.

### 1/5 — Greedy

*2026-06-16, version 2.3.20*

The handling charges are out of control. I love giving to charity. These items were donated to you. I am paying hundreds of dollars. You charge me $5 handling for a ring? Yall are out of control at some of these locations.

Also, inform your listers. Antiques= 100 years old
Vintage = 20 years old.

I search antique and get things made in the 2000’s Y’all can teach your people the basics if their going to list for you

### 1/5 — Customer service

*2026-06-11, version 2.3.20*

I’ve had various issues with them recently which is a shame. I’ve used them before for over a year without issues. They sent me my order with the remote missing and wouldn’t partial refund the missing item. I opened a ticket for shoes that never were shipped. They didn’t reply until I reached out to my CC provider. They “lost” the shoes. I have another item an MJ bag they haven’t shipped and customer service hasn’t replied to my ticket. Hopefully my other two clothing items get shipped or that’s more disputes to open with my CC provider.

### 1/5 — FIX THE GD APP

*2026-06-08, version 2.3.20*

This is most painful freaking app to use. I do not understand the billions of dollars in record profits and they have an auction site straight out of 1994. It is slow, glitches, freezes, won’t refresh or update time left. I lose SO MANY auctions bc the app just decides to stop working within the last 60 seconds of an auction ending. It’s truly maddening. FIX IT

### 1/5 — Scammers

*2026-05-27, version 2.3.20*

Don’t use this app ! They get money but don’t send them items !! Support not working.
I cannot return my money!!!!

### 2/5 — Decent app but needs stability, Wildly inconsistent shipping.

*2026-05-27, version 2.3.20*

ShopGoodwill can be fun if you’re hunting for unique items, especially vintage electronics. I’ve used the platform extensively and have spent thousands of dollars on it, so this is based on long-term firsthand experience. But there are some issues. The app freezes at the worst possible times—often right near auction close—causing you to miss bids, which is incredibly frustrating.

Another major issue is shipping consistency. Packaging quality varies wildly depending on the location. Sometimes items are packed well, other times fragile items are barely protected, and there’s a real chance something arrives damaged—whether from poor packing, rough handling during shipping, or both. When you’re buying 40+ year-old vintage receivers and collectibles, damage can mean an irreplaceable item is ruined.

Customer service on damaged items is also inconsistent. Sometimes they offer only a small partial refund that doesn’t really make sense given the damage, while other times they fully refund the order. There doesn’t seem to be a clear standard, especially considering they’re selling donated items.

It’s a great concept and I’ve found some amazing items, but the app stability and shipping standards need serious improvement.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor shipping and app glitches

*2026-08-28, version 2.3.20*

This app is ridiculous when it comes to shipping prices. You get the items for free, and starting bid prices are high. Unfortunately, I’m not ignorant, and I understand how you write off all of this which results in a high profit that the ceo sits on. Also, app glitches and delays way too often

### 1/5 — Disappointed and frustrated

*2026-08-27, version 2.3.20*

I have donated and shopped Goodwill for years, like many other reviewers. This app is need of serious attention and with the amount of money they rob you of for over priced items that are not properly described, and inconsistent shipping and handling fees they should be able to afford some tech support. I have gotten items that cost more to ship “and handle” than the item itself. I have gotten poorly packed items that have arrived damaged and gotten no response from support. I have gotten clothing with stains in places are gross, paint on clothes, cracks in vintage items not described or depicted in pictures. Some stores are $2 an item for handling some are $6 with no cap if you add items to your order to make sense of the $14 shipping. I can ship the same items for $5-7 by the way via USPS ground advantage. I have paid for FedEx (because you don’t have a choice) and it gets sent usps ground. I have seen prices on the site higher than EBay and have been robbed of auctions being outbid in the last second, but the next day the same exact item in the same exact location posted with a higher starting price. It is wrong. It is dishonest. DO BETTER GOODWILL!!!

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2026-08-26, version 2.3.20*

The app freezes or won’t download. Now there are so many pop ups that it’s ridiculous. It used to be good but now it’s a zero

### 1/5 — Majorly Glitchy

*2026-08-26, version 2.3.20*

The app constantly freezes and unfortunately can cause you to miss out on good finds in the final seconds as your bid won’t go through. Recommend using Goodwill’s website instead to save yourself the heartbreak…

### 1/5 — Still trash

*2026-08-16, version 2.3.20*

I can’t even describe how trash this app is. Crashing constantly at the end of an auction. Corrupt company. Terrible App. Capitalism at its best.

### 1/5 — Poorly Designed

*2026-08-13, version 2.3.20*

Why does the app always freeze at the last minute when the auction is about to close. This is such a waste of time. At least if you’ve been outbid give us an extra minute (or more since the app always freezes) to counter their bid. I’ll stick to buying in store

### 1/5 — Cant log in

*2026-08-06, version 2.3.20*

Somehow you cant even sign in anymore. The app was doing good but then changed last week. If you wanna bid you have to go to the website and log in and bid that way. Goodwill fix asap

### 1/5 — This app seriously sucks

*2026-08-05, version 2.3.20*

Why did they have to make everything an auction??? Why can’t you make it a regular listing instead of a battle?

### 1/5 — Frozen online accounts

*2026-08-02, version 2.3.20*

My family has donated and purchase item from Goodwill for years in Chicago, Denver and San Francisco and Texas. One of my online accounts and one of my sisters online accounts due to family member going into the hospital got closed seven years ago. because we missed paying for an item that we had won, we offered to go ahead and pay for the item and not get it. but Goodwill has refused to allow us to shop online so we no longer donate to Goodwill. We donate to other charities. We currently have a vineyard in California that there’s a lot of designer furniture that we’re gonna be donating and it will not be going to Goodwill!!

### 1/5 — Dangerous to download!

*2026-07-29, version 2.3.20*

Theres a reason for all the poor reviews. Besides what everyone else says which is all true, be cautious when downloading app. this app will track and hack your phone to see everything. Every time i download the app its the same thing, all my settings are the opposite of what i had them set at and certain apps have been visited when i havent. icloud and icloud drive are turned on when i have them off.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It actually has been an outstanding app!

*2026-03-29, version 2.3.20*

I dont know what all of these low reviews are about, but the app has actually been very good. I have ordered quite a bit from here and have had no problems with the app at all. An easily rated 5-star app!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-03-08, version 2.3.19*

Even ebay doesnt have some items

### 5/5 — Must have site

*2026-03-07, version 2.3.19*

I purchase lots of items from ShopGoodwill. I find great deals. You have to be careful about shipping charges. A great deal isn’t as good if their shipping is too high. Not all locations have high shipping.

### 5/5 — 1 penny shipping option

*2026-03-07, version 2.3.19*

1 penny shipping. Good value options here. Search by location. See what large pickup items are listed at a local Goodwill online distribution site.

### 5/5 — Good Finds

*2026-03-07, version 2.3.19*

Something that is good about ShopGoodwill is finding most items that are super expensive on other online stores for lower prices but I will warn those who use the app to looks at shipping & handling because those will jump the price up when making bids on various auctions. Lots of good finds that sometimes aren’t available anymore but pay attention to shipping and handling costs!

### 5/5 — Great Fun

*2026-03-07, version 2.3.19*

You NEVER know what you’ll find. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I enjoy shopping this site. Read all the information on each item you’re interested in. Not all Goodwills have the same policies. Also, make sure to check the shipping calculator before you bid.

### 5/5 — Excellent treasures found!

*2026-01-09, version 2.3.17*

I’ve been using the app for about 6 months and have ordered roughly 20 items. A few items arrived with a little wear (which is to be expected) but most items were even better than described - many brand new! I was able to find some very unique and specific items for Christmas gifts and each recipient was overjoyed and wanted to know where I found these items (autographed photos and memorabilia, antiques, items from childhood, etc). You do need to pay attention to the shipping as sometimes it costs more to ship than the item is worth. That being said, most items I’ve bought were way cheaper at the auction price + shipping than if I purchased new in store. There was one time I had an issue with the payment. The location responded within the hour, fixed the issue, and then shipped my item almost immediately. Way better service and easier to find items than driving all over town. This is like going to Goodwill, but as large as the USA! Which is neat because certain locations end up with items I could never find at my local places. I didn’t expect to love this app as much as I do. Happy Treasure Hunting!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-10-26, version 2.3.16*

This is a wonderful companion app. I think it’s great and it’s very useful. Instead of the slow loading webpage you can bid on your favorite items right from the comfort your Iphone! Thank you Goodwill!

### 5/5 — Patience

*2025-06-19, version 2.3.14*

This app is well designed. I was about to tell ppl how to get great products but that would make no sense if we bid on the same items. 🤐

### 5/5 — My Favorite Auction App!!

*2025-06-05, version 2.3.11*

I love this app and all the deals I’ve found. I can’t believe people are complaining about how auctions work. Just bid your max and if you lose congratulate who won that’s how all auctions work.
