Now you have to earn £10 to withdraw and charge an admin fee if you don’t submit cashback. They then changed the goalposts and you need to save up £10 cash back to get your money back. They then take the money back if you don’t use the app often enough. Real shame as it was actually good before. I won’t recommend it and I won’t use it again ### 1/5 — Terribly misleading *2025-10-26, version 10.3.0* Isn’t clear you have to achieve £10 to get money back. This is hard to do as not all products are ones you’d want to buy. Finally got to that point of £10 credit and then they deducted two amounts equal to £6 as I had not used the account in a month. Means I don’t have enough in my account and need to spend more to get my money back. Basically scamming people so it’s impossible to get what the app promised. Other people have complained the same on reviews. There's also the 'account management fee' which I think is probably illegal but it's so low value it's not even worth flagging to anyone. There probably struggling and need to recoup losses, as people probably use it for the freebie and never again. This is a game changer for me and, coming so soon after the issues where the app wouldn’t work because it required an update which turned the language into French , it is making me look for alternatives. These do exist and I’ll check them out. Poor show. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2025-08-28, version 10.0.1* I’ve always used Shopmium as my favourite store cashback app. Suddenly this month I received at email saying I have to buy something and request cashback in the next 14 days otherwise I get charged £4 every 30 days. What an absolute joke!!. Especially from an app which demands you have to have a total of £10 to request any money of your balance. I’m away on holiday so instantly lost £4. Avoid! *2026-06-18, version 11.9.0* Used to be great. Now they’ve got no good offers ever, a £10 minimum to cash out, and introduced an “inactive account fee” of £4 if you don’t use them which is extremely predatory. I was emailed and told I had 2 weeks to submit a claim to avoid this fee, I submitted a claim which was approved, and yet still got charged the fee. Support did reverse this at least when I contacted them, but why does this fee exist at all? I’m going to cash out then delete the app, as it’s clear that the aim of Shopmium is now to prey on and exploit users rather than providing a real service. ### 1/5 — Bad bad bad *2026-02-28, version 11.3.1* Used to be decent, had it a few years, firstly they changed it to be £10 minimum withdrawal, now they’ve changed it that they take the money out of your account if you do not submit a claim within a certain time. I had accrued £7.30 and was obviously waiting to save to £10. As they had bad deals on and nothing interesting for me to try, I was waiting to do so. Then, they took the £7.30 out my account with no prior warning. I’m going to delete the app today because it’s had a few changes recently- firstly you cannot take out funds less than £10 anymore. Secondly and by far the worst is that if you don’t use account for a month they take away money from your pot … but what they have to offer on there is now so random and when there are things I actually want it’s never in the shops to utilise the app. I Braught something recently to specifically get my balance above £10 only to find that I’ve been deducted £8:20 Due to inactivity. That’s a very bizarre and poor practice I’ve never come across before. I always tend to check the app before placing my main online grocery shop… And there’s usually at least one offer I’m keep to try. Occasionally I’ve got totally free products, but mostly it’s money off or getting an item for a reduced price - be careful to check which as it’s easy to miss! Sometimes it offers lower prices on a product or brand you already know, but I especially like it for discovering new items… The app itself is really easy to use for either in-store or online shopping. Offers are listed by supermarket as well as some ‘themes’ - eg Healthy new year - so simple to find things relevant to you. Then getting your cash back couldn’t be easier.
