I have to uninstall and reinstall this app every few months so it will function properly. Very laggy, also why can’t you send your inspections to the customer through the app? Scan vin option is usually wrong on the model of car idk how all that works but it is pretty annoying. Can’t hit return on my phones keyboard in the internal notes or my messages Look Like This. Camera quality is low for some reason. Photos I take in one ticks inspection photos sometimes show up in another tickets inspection photos (yea idk hopefully it’s just a glitch on my end and isn’t actually transferring over). That pretty much sums up my experience with this app. ### 1/5 — Extremely Slow *2025-07-16, version 1.0.203* Why are you so bad at the simplest things ### 1/5 — Get Good. *2025-06-18, version 1.0.201* The app will crash at random points during literally anything. Photos never upload, if they did it’s missing 50+ photos that I have taken MULTIPLE times. ### 1/5 — Shop manager *2025-05-22, version 1.0.109* The worst app ever I’m a shop manager at a large automotive shop and my owner has required all of our technicians to use this to help track progress on jobs, check in and out of cars with inspection reports. The app is absolutely horrible. We constantly have to re-login. It loses half the data when you go to upload the photos to the cloud and there’s time clock issues. No one at Shopmonkey seems to care enough to answer any of my emails back. I got a hold of one of the technical support agents and after multiple emails in a chain back-and-forth they just gave up and stop responding to my emails. Talk about the worst Customer Service ever and they just raised my price. If I can suggest one thing, it would be either stick with 1.0 or get a different CRM for your shop don’t download this app. It will ruin your workflow and piss your employees off. Shop monkey has made a monkey of themselves and they don’t care about people like us that have been by their side for four years. All they do is take your money and never do want they say they will do. Save your team/soul DON’T download this ultra buggy application. ### 1/5 — Expect Bugs and unreliability… *2025-04-26, version 1.0.109* Shopmonkey used to be a great platform, but ever since the update to 2.0, the experience has gone downhill. We’ve consistently dealt with issues like mileages not saving, digital vehicle inspections disappearing, and getting kicked out of the app. On the desktop version, we’ve had wrong reports, mis-scheduled appointments, and frequent crashes leading to a blank error screen that says, “Sorry, something isn’t working right. Our engineers are aware and working on it.” — which seems like a standard excuse at this point. Initially, I blamed my team for missing mileages and incomplete DVIs. Now I realize it’s the system itself. Shopmonkey used to be reliable. Sadly, I can’t say that anymore. ### 1/5 — Not the best *2025-03-20, version 1.0.105* The app has potential, but the login experience is extremely frustrating. It requires logging in repeatedly, and every time I open it, I get kicked out. On the web, we constantly lose the search functionality and have to reset our cookies, which is incredibly frustrating. This also forces us to log in again on every browser we use. Customer support is unhelpful—you wait an hour just to chat with someone, only to be told, ‘We tried it on our end, and it’s working fine,’ as if the issue doesn’t exist. They either act like no one else has reported the problem or say a fix is coming soon, but nothing ever changes. Worse, they make you feel like you’re lying or don’t understand basic tech instead of actually helping. It’s clear there is a severe lack of tech support, and they’re unwilling to invest the resources needed to fix these persistent issues. Shopmonkey could be the greatest shop software—if only it actually worked as intended ### 1/5 — App performance. *2025-02-24, version 1.0.98* App has consistently had issues trying to use as a tech. Recently, app had been locking me out every 10 second and there for making the app not usable. I have been having to change times and use the computer app instead which is no where near as good for a tech. Also has been having the issue during inspection, it will consistently log you out when taking measurements inbetween sections. Many other issues with the app and condition of the app is not the same anymore. Don’t recommend. ### 1/5 — Terrible and only getting worse *2025-02-21, version 1.0.98* The app keeps kicking me out and making me sign in every time the phone screen times out, the app is not properly tracking times on jobs or remembering what work order I was in. The app is not keeping the inspections that are applied to the specific work order. It is constantly getting worse every day. Please fix this!!! The app is supposed to increase productivity and is ultimately lowering productivity beyond belief and aggravating myself and my technicians ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-12-23, version 1.0.92* App is terrible. Logs you out all the time and does not remember username and password. Work orders are in no order what so ever so good luck finding the one you want ### 2/5 — Needs Work *2025-07-24, version 1.0.203* Compared to 1.0, this app unfortunately feels like a downgrade in terms of efficiency. Intake inspections take absolutely forever to upload photos and are inconsistent. Oftentimes it will drop photos and even the whole inspection together. Randomly, the calendar will not work and it won’t show any of the current days appointments, and when you look ahead, it will not show any appointments even if you have ones scheduled. The biggest problems are the inspections however. They take ridiculously long compared to 1.0. That is where most of my issue lies. ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 3/5 — Techs adding parts *2026-07-29, version 109.13* Would be nice if we could give techs permission to add parts. I gave Admin permissions and their functions are still pretty limited. ### 3/5 — What’s wrong with app? *2025-07-18, version 1.0.203* 1. Can’t track my time. 2. Very uncomfortable track done job. Add a filter, so techs can see how many cars they fix during the week, month on custom option. 3. Everyday I have to log in to account. 4. Uploaded video doesn’t play. Before we don’t have issue like this ### 2/5 — Getting worse *2025-01-01, version 1.0.92* I have been using shopmonkey for over a year and anyone who is holding out for the shopmonkey 2.0 update I can tell you it will not be any better. The "comments" box on the tech app is now broken, and the online version lags and loads way more than before. We have had many problems with shopmonkey in the last year and support is less than useless. Shopmonkey is basically google, they will not help you fix any issues and it's impossible to get a meaningful answer on anything. It is what it is.
