## What is Shoreline Defender™?

Shoreline Defender™ is a patent-pending, public-access forecasting tool that helps users visualize where public beach access is most likely located—using live NOAA tide data, advanced topo-bathymetric modeling, and Augmented Reality (AR) to bring scientific shoreline boundary forecasts to life.

By combining topographic elevation with bathymetric coastal profiles and real-time tidal inputs, the app dynamically forecasts the Mean High Water Line (MHWL)—the legal boundary for public access in many coastal states.

Whether you’re a visitor, planner, enforcement official, or civic investor, Shoreline Defender™ delivers precision-grade clarity in a mobile-first experience.

Key Capabilities:

• Forecasted Access Boundaries
View modeled estimates of the likely public shoreline boundary using NOAA tide gauges and verified coastal slope data.

• Predictive Tidal Mapping
See how access is expected to expand or contract with tidal changes over the next several hours.

• Color-Coded Access Zones
Instantly understand which areas of the beach are more likely to be public under current and forecasted conditions.

• Augmented Reality View (AR)
Use your phone’s camera to see a live visual overlay of the modeled shoreline boundary—mapped directly onto the sand in front of you.

Built For:
• Coastal Visitors & Residents seeking clarity and compliance

• Local Governments & Enforcement Agencies supporting coastal access rights

• Attorneys & Investigators referencing forecasted boundaries

• Planners, Researchers & NGOs monitoring shoreline change

• Civic Tech Investors supporting scalable public-interest infrastructure tools

Why It Matters:
In many coastal states, the public’s legal right to access the beach extends to the mean high water line. But without tools to forecast where that line likely falls, public access, enforcement, and stewardship remain unclear.
Shoreline Defender™ provides clarity—not confrontation.
It does not determine legal property boundaries.
It does not provide legal advice.
It offers a science-based forecast of where public access is most likely supported under current tidal conditions.

Technology Stack:
• Live NOAA tide station integration

• Topo-bathymetric shoreline modeling—combining land elevation and underwater depth for forecast accuracy

• Patent-pending geospatial forecasting engine

• Verified coastal slope datasets and MHWL reference zones

• Augmented Reality (AR) shoreline projection for real-time, on-site visualization

Shoreline Defender™ is the first tool of its kind—bringing transparency, accountability, and trust to coastal access.
This tool is for informational and planning purposes only and is not a legal survey or property boundary determination.

### 2/5 — Good idea but needs some improvement

*2026-03-30, version 5.0*

I am all for the defending of public beaches, and educating the public on their rights but there is definitely room for improvement on this app and its user interface. The app is pretty confusing and doesn’t work very well. I am sitting on the beach and decided to pull it up to check and I have no clue how to make sense of where I am supposed to be. I looked through the tutorial and that was no help. I support this app and its purpose 100%, but as others have said without accurate reporting this app can just lead to more trouble.

### 4/5 — Useful but confusing…

*2026-03-27, version 4.0*

I am at the beach. Please add a simple feature. Vertical feet and estimated horizontal feet above current water line (approximately where it looks wet.)

I know this is art and science, but this would be easiest to understand.

### 1/5 — Advocates for illegal trespassing!

*2026-03-06, version 3.0*

This app is a disaster! The boundaries to show where private beaches meet public are inaccurate and change consistently. The App will suggest users to trespass on private property, risking fines or jail time with zero accountability. At the end of the day this app is an attempt to violate the rights of private citizens to own and protect their property. Just because someone was able to purchase beach property does not mean others get to trespass, steal, and use it for free.

### 1/5 — Dangerous app with bad advice

*2026-01-26, version 3.0*

I tested this out on a beach I know well and the information provided in it is not accurate and the “advice” provided could have you arrested for trespassing. This may provide decent information for shorelines that are stable, but most barrier islands do not have stable shorelines. The advice given in this app would make a person believe they have a right to be in peoples homes (literally). The “advice” this app gives you will put you in harms way.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-12-13, version 1.0.8*

Idk if the app is down right now but I just downloaded it today (dec. 12 2025) and it does not work at all

### 1/5 — Not really accurate

*2025-11-07, version 1.0.7*

Doesn’t take into account some beaches use the ECL to define private and public. Misleading and could perversely imply rights to private landowners that they don’t have.

### 1/5 — Does this work?

*2025-08-30, version 1.0.7*

Nope, doesn’t work right here on 30A, tried for a week since I downloaded app

### 3/5 — Does it work for all FL beaches?

*2025-08-10, version 1.0.5*

Does this app work for all Fl beaches or just Walton Cnty?

### 5/5 — pack your sunscreen and your Freedom app!

*2025-07-30, version 1.0.5*

Every local and our yearly visitors need to download this app. Other than sunscreen- this is your best protection on the beaches of 30A! Save yourself from being harassed by the beach pirates of 30A!

### 5/5 — Must Have Beach App

*2025-07-12, version 1.0.5*

Sadly this is a MUST HAVE app when visiting the beach! In this era of unscrupulous beachfront owners ‘stealing’ the sand through shady loopholes, you need to know where you have the RIGHT to plant your gear and enjoy the beach, as you have done since you were a kid…and this app allows you to do it with confidence!!
