### 2/5 — Great at first, but abandoned

This app was one of the first out there that let you use your own API key, so I gladly bought the lifetime purchase. Unfortunately, after adding GPT-4 it appears to have been abandoned. No updates for new models like GPT-4o mini, DALLE, or models from providers other than OpenAI.

I loved this app before OpenAI released their own app and even with that release I still prefer it. The ChatGPT-4 support was great.

I would love to be able to generate DALLE images in the app using my own API key so I hope that is on the roadmap!

Says that I’m not logged into iCloud (when I am) and will not allow past a screen telling me so.

This bug is caused by something we discovered with how Apple reports whether a user is logged into iCloud to developers. Do you happen to have iCloud Drive turned off? If so turning on iCloud Drive should let you start using Short Circuit. And if that doesn’t work please email hello@redpanda.club and I will personally try to get that fixed for you.

Say hello to Personalities, and support for OpenAI's GPT-4 model.

The #1 request since launch has been support for GPT-4, and I'm glad to say we've delivered. But GPT-4 is only part of a suite of tools we've built to get the best responses, and we're calling that feature Personalities.

Every Side Chat now has the option to configure a personality for your responses. When you add a personality all of Shorty's responses will be delivered in the form of that personality.

This helps make each Side Chat become it's own helpful space. You can choose from some pre-selected personalities such as a D&D Master, a Swift Developer, a French Tour Guide, a Math Tutor, and many more options. Research has shown that when you create a personality it helps deliver drastically better results, so we wanted to make that as easy as possible. You can even make up your own personalities to use in the app, and of course we'd love to hear about any personalities you come up with.

Along with a personality we're letting you change other conversation parameters. You can easily tweak how creative you want responses to be, perfect for prose and writing, and of course the #1 feature request users have been asking for, support or OpenAI's GPT-4 model for more powerful responses.

If you thought that was it, we also made two highly requested tweaks.
- You can finally rename a conversation!
- Your app will now pick back up where you left off rather than the Primary Chat.

We also fixed some bugs… of course.
