### 5/5 — Great for competitive kids

*2020-08-30*

My 7 year old LOVED this. I highly recommend the parent/teacher playing first to figure out how it works (yes it looks self explanatory but it’s imperative you prepare your child in advance for what the game will entail, especially if you have a child that gets discouraged easily. Tell them that if they get shot by a UFO, or use too many bullets, they will lose that round. Also, I recommend being near by your child while they play, so you can pronounce the word again or assist with the correct vowel sound (which is bound to happen with a young dyslexic.)

### 1/5 — Don’t buy does not work

*2020-04-23*

I bought the bundle for my son multiple things in the game don’t work. Same with other apps from this developers Don’t buy!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2018-11-12*

I had hoped that these apps would be a quality addition to my OG instruction. I wish there was an option for playing that did not involve shooting or blowing something up.

**Developer response:** Hi OG Teacher! We understand your desire for something that does not involve shooting, however, we find that these type of games are more exciting for older students (age 8+) and they often look forward to playing these games after the lesson (from our Blast Off to Reading! reading program). This "buy in" is often what is needed for many students. With that said, please check out our "I Can Fly" games which is geared for younger students (there's no shooting or blowing up anything). You can play free for 10 minutes to check out the games and activities, then you'll be asked to enter a code from the book that goes with the game app. If interested, you can find it this at this link: https://www.blastofftoreading.com/HTML5%20games/I%20Can%20Read%20Game/index.html.

### 2/5 — No sound

*2018-08-08*

I am wondering if this app works on IPads. My mute is off, volume is all the way up and there is no sound. Please let me know if I am missing something. Thanks

**Developer response:** Hi AMFC18! I am very sorry that you have had problems with the sound. Unfortunately, developers aren't notified when a review is made, so this was not seen until very recently.

For every customer who has contacted us regarding no sound has had either their mute set to on, or the ringer turned off. Often they don't even know this. If you use headphones and can get the sound, then you have one of the settings set so no sound happens. If you tried using headphones and still get no sound (with the headphones), please call or text us at 631-780-4206.

### 1/5 — Not great

*2017-07-11*

The quality isn't good and the pronunciation is horrendous.

**Developer response:** We've tested our apps on different iPads and iPhones and notice that the sound quality is dependent on the speakers. For example, the iPad Pro has the best quality sound, whereas older iPhones are lacking. Please try using headphones instead of using your devices speakers. In addition, the voice was recently updated and improved.
