They have great prices and great customer service. The prices are bloated like they are on eBay and they don’t have crazy fees. I have bought a lot of comics from this app and it has been awesome. The one time I had issue the took care of it and issued me a full refund. Be nice to know what auctions I have bid on in a separate page, instead of scrolling down and seeing what I’m winning and what I’m losing. ### 5/5 — An easy buying experience *2025-12-01, version 4.3.18* I’ve been purchasing comics from online retailers for decades and I find Shortboxed offers the most consistently reliable service with the quality of their comics listings (there are tons of ways to search for comics and there’s loads of info on the book) and shipping standards. I have always received my orders packaged safely and secure. The app also offers some interviews and articles by collectors, offer tips for collecting, and also some comic news. Wish that I could give you 0 STARS! ### 1/5 — Garbage *2025-12-28, version 4.3.18* Garbage garbage garbage Apparently they only allow sellers in the US as there’s no option to change the ship from address when submitting an application to be a seller. ### 1/5 — Network failed *2024-12-17, version 4.3.12* I took a picture both of them. It says network failed won’t put them on ### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR BUY *2024-11-27, version 4.3.12* Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, buy from this app. Very misleading during the bidding process. You may bid for $1, but you are paying shipping and handling each book if from a different seller. Each book is $8 in shipping and tax. 4 books at a $1 would be $13 from one seller. Imagine 4 different sellers. That’s $52 plus tax, a 3% processing fee if using a card, so they make you add a bank account as well. The app frequently crashes and I recently won an auction on a CGC 9.8 comic for $17, shipping is $15 for slabs so about the normal price for one. I was emailed that the buyer didn’t like the price it sold for and cancelled. DON’T LIST YOUR ITEMS IF YOU AREN’T HAPPY WITH HOW MUCH THEY SELL FOR!! It’s like listing a car for sale, you shake my hand after I hand you the money and change your mind 4 days later. That money is already out of my account, now it’s 3-5 business days later for a refund. It’s the buyer and the apps fault. Don’t list the item in $20 minimum auction and the system lets me win it at $17 plus $15 shipping and tax. Don’t waste your time and money on the app. Multiple invoices from multiple people who can cancel at the drop of a dime! ### 1/5 — Difficult payment system *2024-10-24, version 4.3.12* Took multiple manual efforts and limited options to process a payment ### 1/5 — International Shipping is horrendous *2024-04-02, version 4.0.17* Their FAQ is not updated International is still in beta Price for Canada and UK are : 1-2 for 50$ + 15$ each temporary transfer, so between 65$ and 80$usd of shipping for 2 issues!!! Support don’t answer email. I’m checking out and erase the app once I get my over price stuff. Stay on eBay. ### 1/5 — Waste of an app *2021-11-14, version 1.6.1* Complete waste of time. First time user, first time buyer. Bought a book on Oct 26th, the whole experience start to finish concluded Nov 13th. Seller never sent the book. Sold it on another platform. Messaged support, they said they would let me know the status. Took almost 2 weeks to get a status update and that was because I had to email them again after I emailed them again on Nov. 8th. Long story short, was offered another book with everything the same or a refund, I asked for the book. Was given a refund. Guess it’s a sign. For an app to state ease of use and how frustrating other platforms can be, have the owners actually solved anything by creating this one. No because it’s not needed. There is nothing new here. You’ve made a new platform with lower fees. That’s it. The other problems are still here like with any other platforms. Humans. For now stick with what’s established. Maybe in a few years that 2.1 million in seed money will fix their issues. ### 1/5 — The seller has no obligation to you *2020-12-13, version 1.1.1* I’ve bought several books from the app and have had no issues thus far. Fast, easy and fun. Just had an order cancelled because a book got hot overnight. They state it’s third party and it depends on inventory of seller, but you and I know they were no happy with sale price so seller opted out. I’ve been a member of CGC boards a long time and it’s always been a policy that if you sell a book there you can’t sell it anywhere else or delist it. That’s integrity. You don’t pull this stuff on people. It’s shady business. Either a book is for sale at said price or it’s not. This is not some comic shop that looks up prices on eBay at the checkout. Get it together cause nobody has respect for that type of capitalism. ### 2/5 — Payment methods suck *2026-08-04, version 4.5.0* Won’t take credit cards. Makes you link bank account but they don’t tell you that until too late. Very bad taste in my mouth ### 2/5 — Meh *2026-01-20, version 4.3.18* I was excited to try this app out as an avid collector/ reseller who spends way too much money on comics a month. First off the app is clunky and not very user friendly. I made my purchase as a test run hoping to have unlocked a new avenue to procure books, but the shipping fees are downright outrageous. I won an auction at 16$ and the total came to 25$ and change. That’s just insane for one book. There’s no real way (at least clearly) to bundle and it’s at least 10 day s&h time with the 4 or so days it takes them to verify payment. Is this 1999? Is there another way to do it? It’s too hard to tell since the site is not user friendly at all. TLDR: Not the option I was hoping for. Great idea , poor execution. I’d be open to trying it again if they made it look, feel and WORK like an app in 2026.
