Scam? *2026-10-08* Kept seeing ads for this figured I’d try it despite the negative reviews. It prompts you non stop to get a subscription. You can get it around it the the stories available for “free” won’t let you past the 5th episode without a subscription. I will not be paying so I will be deleting the app. You cannot watch for free on here it’s not worth it. **Developer response:** Is Netflix a scam? Since you also have to pay for it! ### 1/5 — Why? *2026-09-20* This app is a scam for ur money, they should have ads to unlock episodes like the other manga apps, I am very disappointed. Had high hopes. **Developer response:** Hi, thanks for the honest feedback - we hear you. Good news: an ad-supported option is something we're actively working on. The reason an app like ours has to charge is simple: the artists behind these episodes need to get paid, and subscriptions are what make that possible. We hope you'll give us another shot and if you want to share more, we're at quentin@flagcat.studio. Best Quentin ### 1/5 — Year subscription *2026-09-18* I paid for the year subscription and it cut off early, it’s not supposed to end till July 13 2027 **Developer response:** Hey! Thanks for reaching out. Membership is handled directly by the App Store. Feel free to contact me at quentin@flagcat.studio if there's anything else I can help with. ### 1/5 — Not free *2026-09-16* You have to buy subscription **Developer response:** Hi! Yes, Shortcat is a paid app. Subscriptions are what allow us to pay the artists behind every episode. We're also working on an ad-supported option for those who prefer that. Thanks for giving it a try! ### 1/5 — You literally need a subscription to use the app not worth your time *2026-08-14* Bad app **Developer response:** At some point artists need to pay their rent no :D? ### 5/5 — J’adore cette app *2026-07-22* Les séries sont vraiment bien ### 5/5 — Anime *2026-07-20* I like the storys ### 2/5 — Mid *2026-07-20* Honestly its good, free and has okay varieties but the problem is that its filled with unknown love animes **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! Yes our portfolio is almost exclusively based on romance fantasy series. Some are adaptations from Asian Best-sellers stories, like The Archduke's Adopted Saint or Satan's Bride! ## Frequently asked questions about Shortcat ### What kind of anime does Shortcat offer?
