## What is Shortless?

Shortless removes YouTube Shorts from Safari on iPhone and iPad — the feed shelves, the Shorts tab, everything.

No accounts, no configuration, no snooping. Turn it on once and YouTube in Safari simply stops showing you Shorts.

WHY SHORTLESS
• Hides Shorts everywhere: home feed shelves, search results, subscriptions, and channel pages
• Counts every Short you dodge: daily stats, lifetime total, and a streak to keep you honest
• Instant master switch: pause hiding any time from the app
• Private by design: everything happens on your device; the optional layout-drift report contains no personal data and only ever sends anonymous page-structure names
• No ads, no subscriptions, no tracking

HOW IT WORKS
Shortless is a Safari Web Extension. After installing, enable it in Safari's extension settings and allow it on youtube.com — the app walks you through both steps and verifies they worked.

YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. Shortless is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-25

Playables section is now hidden by default.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-05

Onboarding got a proper rewrite. Instead of gesturing vaguely at Safari settings and wishing you luck, there is now a step by step guide with a looping demo, and it checks itself as you go. You will know it worked because the app says so, not because you scrolled for two minutes without hitting a Short.

New in Extra credit: hiding community posts. Those are the ones that look like a video right up until you realize it is a poll asking which thumbnail you prefer. Opt-in, because apparently some people like them.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-24

No release notes.
