## What is Shorts?

Shorts turns a creative brief into an editable short-form video. Tell it what you are making — the goal, the audience, the style, the length — drop in your clips, photos, audio or even PDFs, and get a structured first cut you can refine on a real multitrack timeline.

FROM BRIEF TO FIRST CUT
Pick 9:16 vertical, 1:1 square or 16:9 wide. Shorts assembles your media into a paced edit with title overlays, captions and a call to action — a genuine starting point, not a blank timeline.

A REAL EDITOR UNDERNEATH
Everything the auto-director builds is yours to change: trim, split, duplicate, reorder, captions, transitions, scale and volume on a multitrack visual and audio timeline. Preview with source sound, background music and accurate seeking. Every change is undoable.

THE STUDIO ASSISTANT
Ask for changes in plain language — the project-aware assistant previews each edit before applying it, and keeps it undoable. On Apple Intelligence-capable devices it uses Apple's on-device language model; on other devices a built-in offline edit director understands the same requests. Your media is never uploaded.

IMPORT ALMOST ANYTHING
Video, photos, audio, plain text, RTF and PDF — drag and drop or import through the file picker. Text becomes styled title cards; PDFs contribute their first page.

REAL EXPORT, NO SURPRISES
Export H.264 MP4 at Full HD or HD, 24/30/60 fps, with sequential decoding, stills, title cards, captions and your music. A strict preflight checks sources, trims and free storage before rendering, so exports do not fail halfway.

RECOVERABLE PROJECTS
Versioned local projects with atomic saves, a last-known-good backup and corrupt-file quarantine. Your work survives crashes, and your media stays on your device.
