### 3/5 — Watch App great but some improvements needed

*2026-09-07*

I actually think this could be the game changer for people who want to track their stats. Using the apple watch is great. Three things to fix, 1 at some point the watch decided to move constantly to the next hole and was unusable. This buf must be fixes. 2 I would like a larger text mode 3 I would like to be able to put another players score in. Not their stats. Just their score.

### 2/5 — Review

*2026-09-06, version 3.7.7*

Haven’t had it score an accurate round yet. Misses swings and distances often. Use it mostly for distance to the green while playing. Got it free otherwise i would not buy.

### 2/5 — Junk

*2026-08-29, version 3.7.6*

Extreme hassle to use,

### 3/5 — Testing - good but room for improvement - Apple Watch.

*2026-08-23*

First the test trial rounds are based on 18holes which means 2-nine holes, but it doesn’t do that. One you try to test it, to see the interface, it will force you to use a trial round. Also the app continues to running even after you’ve upload the results. Because of this I could not to log a full round.

While it picks the swings, sometimes you don’t know if you already entered the clubs.

Apple Watch should at least be in sync with iPhone It should be in sync with iPhone app. Should also have the option to use the sensors.

Sometimes the clubs it gives you aren’t the clubs you want to use, it’s always recommending the club, so you could enter the wrong club.

The ability to export data is useful.

I want to like it, but lacks some features and want to golf a couple more rounds to give it a fair test.

### 2/5 — Warum nicht mit km/h

*2026-08-22*

Englisch ok, aber Meilen ein No Go
Das LM1 stürzt auch immer wieder ab, was auch in Foren auf einschlägigen Seiten schon besprochen wird. Wann gibt es ein Firmware Update und wann wird die Sprache/Masseinheit in der App angepasst?

### 2/5 — Needs improvement for UI and UX

*2026-08-19*

I tried the Shot Scope Watch App specifically for use with my Apple Watch while golfing. My main needs are simple: score tracking, GPS distances, and optionally club-distance tracking.

The biggest advantage is the pricing: one payment and no subscription. That alone makes Shot Scope very appealing compared with many golf apps.

However, the Apple Watch experience needs improvement:

1. UI and navigation: The interface is awkward to use during a round. Most navigation relies on scrolling with the Digital Crown. Left/right swipe gestures would make it much faster, and users should be able to customize which information appears on the watch.
2. Button responsiveness: Some buttons need a very deliberate press and occasionally don’t register. On my Apple Watch Ultra 2, some controls also feel too close to the edge of the display.
3. GPS update speed: Compared with Golfshot, distances to the green can take a few seconds to refresh after moving, which interrupts the flow during play.

Shot Scope offers excellent value because there is no subscription, but the Apple Watch UI and UX currently hold it back. If the interface became faster, more customizable, and easier to navigate, this could be one of the best golf apps available. For now, Golfshot is still quicker and easier to use on the course.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your feedback. If you prefer swiping rather than using the Digital Crown, you can swipe up and down on the screen to move between pages instead. Regarding the customisation options, please get in touch with support@shotscope.com, and we'll be happy to discuss these with you.

### 2/5 — Apple Watch app review

*2026-08-19*

Revised to 2 stars for the Apple Watch. After purchasing the app and trying to use it for multiple rounds, I still have yet to get an accurate accounting of my shots either automatically or manually. I’ll be going back to the app that I’ve been using and chalk this up to a waste of my money. Can’t use an app that has yet to match the score I actually shot. The app appears to be great if you are used to the ShotScope ecosystem but others will likely struggle and nearly mandatory editing after the round is simply unacceptable for a tracker.

Tried this out for a single round after hearing of the Apple Watch app release. Initial setup had the app trying to play a round all day long until I actually played the round. Drained the heck out of the battery. There is little at this stage in help or documentation on the app so I did the best I could. I tried shot recognition and that wasn’t working will. I switched to manual and it was better, as well as reduced battery drain. I have two main issues. First, editing on the watch was really hard to find. Deleting shots or changing clubs was unclear until I got home to edit in the online portal. Second, I’m used to a watch and phone app where I can record my playing partners scores only as well as using it for scramble outings. This doesn’t exist in the app. The good, stats are wonderful. It is visually stunning on the watch. Accuracy seems on target. The watch app runs independent of needing to have the so running on the phone. The app seems to do great as a single player recording on a shot by shot basis but for this user, I want to be able to keep track of scores at a minimum for everyone in my playing group. I will be using another app to do recording of scores of my group/playing partners and use my Apple Watch to record my stats.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your review.

Please update the app to version 3.7.2. This should resolve the issue with the activity not starting correctly.

At the moment, the editing options available on the watch are limited to deleting a shot or changing the overall score for a hole. We are looking to add more editing features in the coming weeks.

To delete a shot, scroll down to the shot list for the hole, then swipe across the shot you would like to remove. A delete icon will appear, allowing you to delete the shot.

Hope this helps!

### 4/5 — Great App .. Watch Apple feature feels very lacking

*2026-08-14*

Been using the app with RF tags for about 2 years now. Really like the functionality and data feedback you get. Was really looking forward to the Apple Watch functionality and having finished my first trial round with I was looking forward to seeing how it uploaded onto the App.

Needless to say I was pretty disappointed with incorrect and inconsistent data being uploaded. I had to edit each hole due to incorrect club being displayed, shots displayed wildly inaccurately.. I gave up editing all the mistakes after a couple of holes.

The other two rounds weren’t any better and also had to deal with the watch skipping a couple of holes, randomly going back to the watch face screen.

On the upside, loved the displays, much preferable vs getting my phone out of my pocket to check distances.

All in all .. still a great App but the Apple Watch functionality is definitely lacking and (as it stands) wouldn’t pay for it.

### 4/5 — New version not very useful; issue resolved

*2026-08-11, version 3.7.2*

The fix was to add the LM1 device to the app and now it works again.
Can I have the previous version back so I can download rounds off the X5 watch. New version has eliminated that ability

### 3/5 — Don’t Trust Putting Stats

*2026-08-10*

I’ve been using Shot Scope for almost 2 years. Generally I enjoy the product (specifically the H4) and highly recommend it to others. However, I also warn them that any putting stats are highly questionable. This warning would also extend to any green related stats. Where I golf (Western Canada) the app seems to have a real problem identifying when you are on the green. Consequently, it doesn’t collect many putts or pin collects. Typically I have to add 5 putts and manually move 2 pin locations each round. So if you don’t separately and independently record your strokes and putts, and then carefully recheck all your shots, many of your stats are suspect.

I often leave putts 2 or 3 inches short. The app consistently fails to register the next putt.

I often go to do a “pin collect” and the app doesn’t recognize I’m on the green or worse it has decided I’m starting the next hole. Yes, I know I can manually force a pin collect (and I do). I shouldn’t have to so often. And when I do the results may still be wrong.

Other than Greens and Putting I love the app.

### 4/5 — Editing

*2026-07-23, version 3.4.18*

When using the drop ball it does not connect to the next shot. According to Shot Scope this is by design. I find editing not straight forward at all.

### 2/5 — Horrible app

*2026-07-21, version 3.4.18*

Surprised Apple even allowed this to be in their App Store. UI is confusing and completely non standard controls. Entering email and password and registration is incredibly frustrating. Connecting the actual launch monitor is basically impossible with buttons and status screens that make no sense. Embarrassing effort.

### 3/5 — Good but not great…

*2026-07-19*

Been using the app on iOS with the Connex tags for a few months now. The data is great but the experience of using the tags falls short. The app will crash multiple times during a round, is slow to upload any manually entered shots, the putting side is nowhere near accurate enough to be useful, same with pin collection (no the pin isn’t 5 yards off the green in a bunker!?) and in general it’s not great fiddling with your phone before every shot. Saying that, the data is very good so I’m tempted to upgrade to a watch with tags in the hope that it removes some of the negatives of using the phone tags. Connex are close to being good but really let down by the app itself.

**Developer response:** Hi, we're sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced. Please get in touch with support@shotscope.com so we can investigate and help get things working as expected.

### 2/5 — Clunk and involved

*2026-06-30*

The app and the connex tags are a bit a clunky and slow. It’s not as smooth as it seems in videos. A fair bit involved in tagging spots on your phone. Annoyingly doesn’t integrate with Apple Watch which makes it even harder to use.

### 3/5 — Great App, No Watch

*2026-06-24, version 3.4.18*

Awesome app with accessories. A shame they don’t allow Apple Watch conversion. I know they have their own watch but a simple screen of distance would go a real long way.

### 2/5 — App

*2026-06-20, version 3.4.18*

App has started to freeze when its first opened, take ages to save rounds once you edited, also the apps matrix don’t seem to fit the screen of the iPhone anymore

### 3/5 — Out of date maps

*2026-06-04, version 3.4.18*

I have just played 4 golf courses in north wales and 2 courses displayed Incorrect hole information
North wales golf course and Rhuddlan golf course can you let me know how il

This can be fixed

### 4/5 — Good but can be better

*2026-05-26*

Worth the price of admission. However, would like to see better reports and guidance on improvement.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App ruined by update

*2026-08-31, version 3.7.6*

I have used this app for several years. The requirements now to sign off rounds before seeing distance stats for each club has ruined the app. Furthermore signing rounds is clunky and tiresome. Please go back to the old format where I can see club distance stats without all this with that does not interest me.

### 1/5 — iPhone 13 mini problems

*2026-08-29, version 3.7.6*

When trying to enter custom distance for clubs there is no way to hit the confirm button because the number pad covers it with no way to get it out of the way without hitting the back button

### 1/5 — Frustrating Experience

*2026-08-19, version 3.7.5*

Have been trying to get this app to work with Apple Watch for 2 weeks. Always gets to the point where you pick a course while I am ready to tee off and then it just stalls with the silly quotes on the watch face and will not get any further than that. Extremely frustrating to spend $150 and then have it not work. SS support tried to help but that got me nowhere. Running all current updates on Apple Watch 11, iPhone 16, and Shot Scope app. Sounds like a great idea but it just is not working.

### 1/5 — What happened??

*2026-08-04, version 3.7.0*

What did you do to the app, Shot Scope?? Where are my rounds? Where are all my stats? Your latest “update” has completely removed everything that made Shot Scope useful.

### 1/5 — App scoring issue

*2026-07-26, version 3.4.18*

Each time I update a round after downloading the app freezes and I have to do it all again.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-07-15, version 3.4.18*

The practice session history does not upload to the app. No good instruction how to fix it. Contacted support through the app, no response from shot scope.

### 1/5 — Needs improvement!

*2026-07-03, version 3.4.18*

Misses on average 10-20 shots per round. Need to recreate each round. I keep written record of putt distances bc this stat is not accurate. Editing can be tedious. I have not used a competitive app so I don’t know if it is a limitation of the technology or this product. All that being said, I do like the data it generates.

### 1/5 — Frequent failed course sync

*2026-06-21*

Won a V5 watch in a comp. The watch is fine, came with the club sensors which work well with the watch itself, however the app just doesn’t work for me (IPhone and IPad). Trying to sync courses for updates and it constantly disconnects from the watch, doesn’t update or maybe updates if you are lucky after 20-30 attempts!
I also tried to upload my rounds and after getting to 99% got a ‘failed to update’ message😤.
I have previously updated using my son’s PC to connect via USB, but now he has left home I don’t have my own PC so that option is gone. I have looked at and tried all of the solutions found online and none of these work. If I had paid for this watch, I wouldn’t be happy at all. Will try a Garmin soon!

### 1/5 — App scoring issue

*2026-06-21, version 3.4.18*

Each time I update a round after downloading the app freezes and I have to do it all again.

### 1/5 — Constant app / watch connection issues

*2026-05-03, version 3.4.13*

I have a ShotScope V5 (won in a tournament a year ago)which is decent enough for the golf, but the app is hopeless at syncing with the watch and fails multiple times with course updates.
Sometimes it might get up to 70 percent but even that is rare and just keeps disconnecting (despite showing as being connected on my phone or IPad).

I have tried every single ‘tip’ from the ShotScope guides and done the usual resets, disconnect and reconnect, ensure in strong WI-FI signal area etc. nothing works apart from connecting to a PC with the charging cable. Thankfully I have a PC at home, many don’t and would struggle.

If I hadn’t won the watch it would have been returned some time ago. Unsure if this is an app or hardware issue but it’s not good enough!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The tin

*2026-08-22, version 3.7.5*

Does what it says and definitely saving me shots

### 5/5 — Solid but lots of room for improvement

*2026-07-17*

Disappointed to find out it doesn’t give you a handicap, I would be willing to fill out scorecards for all the course I play such as course rating and slope rating for every tee box. Feels like handicap is the bare minimum these days. Other than that there is a lot of data if you are willing to edit every round to make sure it’s accurate

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your suggestion and will pass it along to our development team for consideration. We're glad to hear you're finding the performance data useful.

### 5/5 — Great monitoring tool

*2026-05-08, version 3.4.13*

I’ve been using the Shotscope watch for a few months. Used along with the club tags it’s a great tool for monitoring your performance. It has helped me with my club selection based on my average shot distance. The support is excellent, with recent changes to a local course updated when I raised with Shotscope.

### 5/5 — Love the V5

*2026-04-20, version 3.4.10*

I had a few issues with my X5 device initially but support from the team at Shot Scope was outstanding. They handled everything quickly and professionally and arranged a replacement with the V5. The V5 has been excelent- reliable easy to use and a real asset on the course. I genuinely wouldn't want to play golf without it now.

### 5/5 — Changed my game

*2026-01-02, version 3.3.40*

Use H4 and it has allowed my to understand my true distances with every club to plan strategy for each shot.

### 5/5 — I’m BAACK!

*2025-10-28, version 3.3.39*

I used a SC V2/3 in IL from 2018-2020. I got an Apple Watch for health reasons, and was able to get a free subscription with Arccos.

Now in PA, the AW app keeps screwing up. I’ve reported it to Arccos support at least four times with photos - NO HELP, and little contact.

I got an X5 and am back to ShotScope! It’s has more features than the V3 in color, but the great intermediate hazard readings!

### 5/5 — I have H4 and this is awesome

*2025-10-21*

I just got my H4 last week played for the first round this Sunday. And I love this app device combo. The biggest part for me is there no subscription fee. I get my strokes gained data and now I know it to work on for the following week. If you don’t know, you can either 1. do the tags with the app only or 2. you can have a device with the app and tags. I highly recommend the device. It is so tiny. It’s just half the size of a golf ball. You tap your tag to the device right before or right after your shot and you move on. I really don’t wanna be playing with my phone or looking at my phone while I’m playing golf just focusing on the shots and my routine. This was perfect for that.

I’ll update my review again in like a year or a few weeks. But I haven’t made a review for in like 10 years so this is just absolutely I want to support these guys thank you so much.

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2025-10-07*

The Shotscope app paired with the watch (x5) and club attachments for tracking my game has given me the insights needed to better my game , shows me where I need to improve most as well as what I did wrong on the course during each round. Love the analytics and the ease of use. Truly a tool anyone who’s serious about their game should be utilizing

### 5/5 — Love my Shot Scope

*2025-10-06, version 3.3.37*

I use the correct club more often after reviewing my round, course conditions are different than driving range

### 5/5 — Pretty good for the analyst

*2025-09-04*

If you are the type of person who wants to know what’s going on with your golf game, the Shotscope X5 will give you all that ou need to know as an amateur golfer. Don’t expect it to be 100% correct all of the time! Expect it to be as consistent as you are and then you won’t be disappointed. Like in accounting, garbage in garbage out, so be prepared to input corrected data when it makes a mistake, like missing a 20 foot chip shot with a sand wedge. If you get it up and in, it will be 100%. If you don’t, then see above. 😜
