## What is Shotpin?

Snap a photo, and the place is saved. Later, tap Navigate and go back.

Shotpin is for the places you want to find again but never want to fill in: where you parked, the fishing spot that worked, a restaurant worth a second visit, a quiet café, a viewpoint at the right hour. One tap on the shutter records the photo and the exact location. No forms, no typing. Sort it later, or never.

WHY PEOPLE KEEP IT ON THE HOME SCREEN
• Snap = saved. Open the app straight into the camera, press the shutter (or the volume button), and put the phone away.
• Navigate back with one tap, using the app you already trust: Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Amap or Baidu Maps. Shotpin remembers your choice.
• Your camera roll stays clean. Spot photos live inside Shotpin, not in Photos — unless you say otherwise.
• Find your car. Snap your parking spot; the “Latest” pill takes you straight back. Tag it Parking and you get a timer and a walk-back button.
• Places, not piles. Photos taken at the same location stack into one place, with a count of how many times you have been there.

• Fixes a freeze on launch when your own storage is out of reach (for example, a NAS at home while you are out).
• Sync now says when it is waiting to reach your storage, and how many spots are still on this iPhone.
• Manage tags in Settings: rename, delete, and see how many spots use each one.
• Library covers show the place's tag, so untagged spots stand out at a glance.
• Restore from your own storage after reinstalling, the same way as from iCloud.

• Widgets: your latest spot on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. Tap the photo to browse back through your timeline, tap Navigate to go straight there, or snap a new spot from the widget.
• Control Center (iOS 18): add a Shotpin control to Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action button. One press opens the camera.
• Name your places: call it "Civic Sports Center" instead of the street address. Every photo there picks up the name, and search finds it.
• Save a place without a photo: long-press the map or search an address. Next time you're there, snap a photo and it joins the spot.
• Satellite map: one tap on the layers button.
• Parking hint: when a photo looks like a parking spot, Shotpin suggests tagging it Parking. One tap, or ignore it.
• Merge places: photos from the car park, the halfway rest stop and the summit are three places by distance, but one mountain to you. Select pins on the map (or places in your library) and merge them into one, picking which pin the map and Navigate should use.
• Deleting a place now asks whether to keep the place itself: the photos go, the name, tags and location stay as a saved spot.
• Restore after reinstalling: your iCloud backup is a visible folder in the Files app now, and Shotpin offers to bring it back when the library is empty.
• Fixes and polish.
