### 4/5 — Game changer

*2026-07-03, version 2.3*

Has taken my dope game to the next level

### 4/5 — The app works pretty well

*2026-07-01*

First of all I’ll state that this review is for the app itself not the Garmin device. the device is amazing. it’s tiny, it never misses shots and also doesn’t pick up anybody shooting in a lane beside me. i’ve owned 3 chronos and the Garmin is far and away the best.

The app works well. I think with a few extra features it could be exceptional. Right now the highest view you canget is by sessions. I’d like to see some more advanced data analysis features like graphing, sorting, better search and something like automatic naming so i don’t have to edit and name each session. I do a lot of reloading and testing so that wish may not apply to everybody. overall I love the Garmin experience and wouldn’t think about switching to something else.

### 5/5 — Dependable Chronograph

*2026-05-31, version 2.2.2*

Put in use early December 2025, as of the end of May 2026 the C1 hasn’t missed a single round or given an error code (something quite common with my previous sky screen style chronograph). Easy to use on a public range - just turn it on and pair to iPhone, no reason not to use it at every shooting session.

### 5/5 — Love it!!!

*2026-05-30, version 2.2.2*

Before using the Xero and ShotView, working up a new handload using a traditional chrony was a necessary evil. It is now a joy. Super easy is an understatement! Thanks for the new tech!

### 5/5 — Wish I had this years ago

*2026-05-30, version 2.2.2*

Absolutely invaluable tool for reloading. Particularly impressed with the software upgrades that keep appearing

### 5/5 — Outstanding Sustem

*2026-05-27*

The shot view chronograph system is the best I’ve ever used, and I’ve been using chronograph systems since the 70’s. It is by far the easiest to set up and operate, and it produces the most useful data to help you fine tune your firearm’s performance.

### 5/5 — This is too easy

*2026-05-27, version 2.2.2*

Never misses a shot just put it on the tripod and set it out in front of your bipod automatically downloads to your phone. Best money spent on a chronograph in 20 years.

### 5/5 — What an upgrade

*2026-05-25*

Had an older lab radar unit and while it is great this thing is just amazing with set up and everything. Just point it in the direction and send freedom seeds down range. Then when I got home it all synced up upon opening the app.

### 4/5 — Easiest to use chrome

*2026-05-23*

Love my Garmin Shotview chronograph and associated app. They link up easily with no input needed from me. No more setting up screens on tripods and worrying about shooting my gear or transcribing data. Super intuitive.

Edits to bullets and rifle once inputted could be easier and more intuitive, but I figured it out eventually.

### 5/5 — Love this App

*2026-05-20, version 2.2.2*

Does everything I need it to do and lets me store configurations. With a C2 the live view is amazing and I love being able to easily swap sessions.

### 5/5 — Spot On!

*2026-05-18, version 2.2.2*

Great Product

### 5/5 — Best investment for a serious shooter/reloader

*2026-05-16, version 2.2.2*

I could have never imagined a chronograph that fits in your cargo pants pocket yet, is incredibly accurate, logs your sessions and bluetooths those sessions to your phone for later editing. Just amazing.

### 5/5 — Garmin Xero C1

*2026-05-15, version 2.2.2*

It never misses a shot! Great little unit

### 4/5 — ShotView works

*2026-05-03, version 2.2.2*

A couple hiccups at the beginning but the chrono and especially the app just works. I use the new add ons every week. My one complaint would be I’d love to be able to add pics to each session. Blows everything else out of the water.

### 5/5 — 2 years of use

*2026-05-02, version 2.2.2*

Awesome chrono, I’ve used it two years now and I love having the ability to refer back to loads I’ve recorded previously. The beat chrono on the market.

### 5/5 — Outstanding quality

*2026-05-02, version 2.2.2*

Best of its kind by far. I would give it six stars if it had a brighter screen with some colors.

### 5/5 — Shot view

*2026-05-02, version 2.2.2*

Very easy to navigate through and has great features my favorite is the cold bore and clean bore selection for each shot

### 5/5 — Shotview review

*2026-05-01, version 2.2.2*

Easy to use, no elaborate setup, works well with suppressed handguns and rifles.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Updates ruin app

*2026-07-10, version 2.3*

An automatic update caused 2 years of chronograph data to become corrupted and unusable. App works as long as you can prevent it from updating.

### 1/5 — Shooting session date and time changes

*2026-06-11, version 2.3*

When reviewing past shooting sessions, a simple act like excluding or including a shot changes the date and time of the shooting session. The shooting session date and time should be sacred!

Show an edit date if that is important for some customers.

### 1/5 — Version 2 with C2 is a disaster

*2026-02-28*

15 shot sessions are replicated to 150+ shots. Excluding a shot in Shotview reorders the session history. Sessions need to be listed by date created, not date modified. Shot history in C2 is also jumbled and replicated (write important data down). Default rifle / bullet cannot be reset to unassigned. Changing a session name shouldn’t require selecting the old name, just give a blank field to type. The list is long, waaaay too long for a quality company like Garmin. Clearly software was not tested. Not ready for prime time!

### 1/5 — Last update horrible!

*2026-02-09, version 2.1*

Last update makes app crash.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-04-25, version 1.1*

It just does not work or connect at all.

### 1/5 — Badly needs a sort/search function

*2024-10-27, version 1.1*

The Garmin Xero is excellent but the app falls well below expectations. A few simple improvements, starting with sort and search functions, would make this a five star app.

### 1/5 — Demands account for local use

*2024-09-24*

So you pay $600 for a nice radar unit. In the old days, Garmin might have been happy with that, and a happy customer. But in the brave new world of endless monetization no, they require an online account for simple purely local data sync so that they can harvest your data for themselves and add subscriptions later. Scum.

### 1/5 — Shotview

*2024-09-15*

The Garmin Xero chronograph is a phenomenal instrument. After buying my Xero and shooting my first sessions, I literally took five other chronograph from my shooting room and threw them in the trash……

The Xero has never failed to accurately record the 500 or so rounds it has been used for.

Well …. Then I started using the shotview software ! What a piece of garbage software. It has a multitude of problems that I am not even going to begin to list.

With the revenue that garmin gets from the Xero, one would think that they could spend a little money on a software developer to fix this app.

I don’t know if some of the anti-gun idiots at Apple have attacked this technology to render it demasculated.

My hope is that some day shotview will get fixed….. until then, I will just limp along with the Garmin Xero.

### 1/5 — Very bad app

*2024-09-02*

Has no use for user, only spyware for Garmin, used gather info so they can market more stuff to you. It’s a shame the chronograph is great, best shooting tool I have bought in 30 plus years, the shot view app is like a after though dreamed up by marketing, glad I didn’t use my email address to sign in.

### 1/5 — Does not work on iPhone 14

*2024-03-12, version 1.1*

Never made it past the sign in. Just keeps saying “sign in attempt failed”. Tried restarting, reinstalling and a couple of other things. Doesn’t work. Saw someone say it only works on new phones. I’m not buying a new phone….for an app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Stevo

*2026-07-26, version 2.3*

Great app

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2026-07-25, version 2.3*

Amazing app to go with an amazing chronograph

### 5/5 — A must have for reloading ammo!

*2026-07-06, version 2.3*

Accurate and easy to use! Only thing I would change is allow you to combine sessions and send to Excel

### 5/5 — Works great

*2026-07-01, version 2.3*

Been working great on handgun and rifle ammo. Use it both for personal and professional.

### 5/5 — Invaluable

*2026-06-25, version 2.3*

Never go to the range without it. One of the keys to accuracy.

### 5/5 — Works seemlessly

*2026-06-15, version 2.3*

The app works seamlessly with my Garmin Xero chronograph, and I haven’t experienced any bugs or issues with it. You have to ‘end session’ on the chronograph before it appears on the phone app which took me a while to realise. The whole system is so light and compact I carry it all the time in my shooting bag and use it frequently. I’ve nothing but praise for both the device and app.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2026-06-13, version 2.3*

Great app makes the setup and remote viewing super easy

### 5/5 — Easy

*2026-06-08, version 2.3*

This item is easy to use

### 5/5 — Mr Smart

*2026-06-04, version 2.3*

Has been great, the only thing is speed of shots not being picked up

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-06-01, version 2.2.2*

Love the Xero C1, and the Shotview app! Life changing!
