It kept coming back with answers. I didn’t quite understand. ### 3/5 — Can be fun *2025-02-23, version 7.1* The app leans heavy right wing, so any political polls are skewed in that direction. Not all polls are political, but the app does skew on the political side. The message boards can be quite toxic, but nothing you haven’t seen on social media already. It’s all small user base on the boards, so you can find yourself arguing with the same people over and over again. ### 3/5 — Heavy MAGA majority *2025-01-17, version 7.1* Polls are very skewed because of the massive republican/maga majority. Polls make more sense when you look at the stats. Overall a good app, just look at the stats for an actual look at what is really beleived. ### 2/5 — Great app but… *2024-09-22, version 7.1* I have been using this app for years, however lately the new poll questions haven’t been updating. In order to get them I must delete the app and then redownload. There is a never ending supply of idiots who parrot MAGA talking points. The one who doesn’t believe the moon landing happened takes the prize. There are also a handful of really reasonable wonderful people. I’d been told I was one of them. The racism is what drove me away. I fully support free speech, but at some point you have to draw a line. ### 2/5 — Was good EXCEPT… *2024-08-12* It’s a cool concept and there are some great discussions. There is a never ending supply of idiots who parrot MAGA talking points. The one who doesn’t believe the moon landing happened takes the prize. I’d been told I was one of them. …… There is an ignore feature which is necessary to block out the worst of it, but it doesn’t cover location lines. As a biracial woman it was offensive to see what was written and the app’s “response” to it turned me off completely. It’s too bad but I can’t endorse something that itself endorses racism all the way from the top. ### 1/5 — Technical support is terrible *2024-07-13, version 7.1* Overall, I like the app, like being able to post a polling question whenever I want but technical support, just signing into the app is a nightmare. I have one device I’m unable to sign into the app on because the words “forgot password” are overlapped with other wording, and will not allow me to open up so I can change my password. The password portion of this app ‘SOH’ is nothing. Short of frustrating. i’ve never seen lack of technical support as I do here at SOH. ### 2/5 — Fun! You will find more low-information voters, and interact with them. Can’t log back in to my account and can’t even make a new account through the app. ### 2/5 — Has become a MAGA bubble *2023-12-25, version 7.1* It’s so obvious that the admins on this app lean heavily to the right. Tony has stated that if we want a poll to be featured it needs to be non-biased. Then you see the same old MAGA favorite users featured with polls that basically have answers “I agree” or “I’m an idiot”. If you avoid news and political polls it’s fun, but if you aren’t part of the MAGA crowd stay away from politics. These folks don’t have a clue what evidence is so it’s a waste of time to prove your point. Whataboutism is rampant. They’re sinking in right wing conspiracy quicksand and they think all news that doesn’t suit their agenda or ideology is “fake”. There are a few thick skinned liberals and independents that make their cases. If you’re one of them then you may like the politics. You can choose which categories you want to see, so you can stick to light and fluffy polls, like “do you prefer pie or cake?” That and that it is free with no ads is why I give it two stars. I also really like the informational polls. ### 2/5 — Poll Responses not the same anymore *2023-09-16, version 7.0* I used to receive 100’s of responses to poll questions I submitted to SOH. These days I’m seeing less than a 100. Case in point: Last week I submitted a poll question which has received ~60 responses. The very next day, SOH submitted a virtually identical poll question which has 600+ responses to date! What gives? I understand that SOH likely has nation wide distribution, but why are my submitted polls so restricted. Unless this policy changes, I will no longer bother… ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Unbelievably racist *2025-12-15, version 7.1* So many right wing, white supremacists, hateful and ignorant people. It’s surprising Apple allows it to be listed on the Apple Store. Not safe for kids, of which there are many on the app. There doesn’t appear to be any moderation, at all. ### 1/5 — MAGA cesspool *2025-10-20* More toxic than any other social media site. The racism has gotten worse over the years. The app is infested with right wing MAGA supporters and they get extremely vile, racist and at times verbally violent. This behavior goes mainly unchecked. Only the worst violations get moderated and that is only when the owner happens to agree it was vile. He runs this site alone with little time for it. So, to some extent, it’s just understandable that moderation is so minimal. In addition, the app is listed for 12+ ages. Yet, there is daily sexually inclined content, violent references, and excessive bullying. This app should be reclassified as Adult. ### 1/5 — Favoritism and biased *2025-09-10, version 7.1* SoH claims to be a fair and open platform, but my experience shows otherwise. The moderation feels biased and inconsistent. Some users are favored, while others are penalized for the same behavior. This creates an uneven, frustrating experience where community standards aren’t applied fairly. If you value transparency and equal treatment, think twice before trusting this app. ### 1/5 — Not allowing sign up *2025-06-13, version 7.1* They allow voting but no commenting without signing in, but every username is rejected & the system doesn’t suggest one. Keep in mind that comments on the polls are skewed by this bias: old accounts and whoever hasn’t yet been banned, allowing the platform to control the narrative ### 1/5 — Right Wing Skewed *2025-03-07, version 7.1* Results are not representative of the current state of America. The F-word and N-word are tossed around at times, and the developer allows it. With that said, there are many fantastic people who can have civil and meaningful dialogue about world issues. I highly recommend this app and give it five stars. ### 5/5 — Great Polling Application *2025-10-23, version 7.1* After reading the last submitted review I decided to write one and give credit where credit is due. The developer created a forum via the app where members could check the pulse of participants on all sorts of topics and issues. There is limites censorship, but for the most part polls are posted and responded to freely. The accusation of inappropriate sexual content is false and yes the poll platform is not the echo chamber the woke want it to be. The real issue is that the misinformation trolls post incendiary comments constantly and the factual content answers are not welcomed. Kudos and thank you to the developer and a hardy shame on you to the last reviewer! ### 5/5 — Love it *2025-04-10, version 7.1* Been on this app for years. I love it and have made a lot of friends there. Discussions run the gamut—users can create polos about whatever they want—though political discussions do tend to dominate. You can hit the ignore button for people who are jerks, and thereby create yourself a nice place to air your opinion. If you join, look for the monthly introduction poll. You’re not kicked off for your beliefs and your allowed to speak your opinion. ### 5/5 — Great app, great community, great fun *2023-08-15, version 7.0* Show of Hands is a great, novel, easy to use app for posting instant surveys and getting results from its community of users. Discussions around each survey allow for lots of conversation. I love the instant breakdowns of the results by geography, demographics, political leanings, and more. And checking back on surveys to the counts changing as results come in. There is free speech on the app. And that means some discussions become mean-spirited. So beware.
