Should have some security check. ### 3/5 — Very few responses *2025-03-16* Unfortunately I had high hopes for this App. There’re plenty of guides on the App, but once you go on contacting them you realize the following: 1) very few ever respond 2) most responders use AI generated replies clearly for language barrier 3) most responders don’t follow through 4) the monthly subscription fees is ridiculous expensive to stay on the platform for long. In my experience Tours by Locals is a far better platform. I’ll reconsider if the subscription fees become reasonable ### 3/5 — Lots a fake profile and no security *2024-11-03* I work as a tour guide in Buenos Aires, one bad thing is the fake profiles that hire you. Many make you indecent proposals. I have reported several, but one person in particular from Italy, who I have never met and have never traveled with, made a false report and the app does not want to remove it. There are dangerous men looking for women for other types of activities that are not tourist-related. The worst of all is that no one in the app cares to solve your problem. ### 3/5 — Enable to login *2024-06-21* I've been unexpectedly logged out of my account and can't log back in. I could see that for a year. Maybe even a month. That would be over $500USD PER MONTH just to fund a local tour guide. SHAME ON YOU! ### 1/5 — Not working the in box= useless app *2022-12-23* As I wrote before it has been an excellent app and I loved it, allowing the visitor to have the assistance of a local in almost every city. It was the best: you create a trip , and the locals offer their services charging an hourly rate. I used the app always as a visitor. I have always made the payments on time and I have got excellent reviews of the guides. Unfortunately , Showaround changed for the worse . The inbox is not working and you cannot receive offers from locals. Showaround pretends to charge the visitors $25 per month. This is US$300 per year, even if you only travel once or twice a year. The app still allows you to create a trip and notifies the locals. However, Showaround blocks the offers and messages that you may receive at your inbox from locals, so the visitor can no longer hire them, and they will no longer have the possibility of work. I insist that it would be more logical and fair to charge a commission per trip. And remember : afterwards you have to pay the local. In case of few annual trips, it is better to hire a professional guide. Showaround, unless it change its policy, is a useless app for the traveler. From the moment she picked me up at 9 am to the drop-off for my Shibuya skyline at 3 pm, Hana went above and beyond to ensure I had an amazing experience. We explored Asakusa, Ginza, and the Tsukiji Fish Market, even taking a memorable rickshaw ride along the way. Hana’s extensive knowledge of Tokyo’s culture and history added so much depth to each location. Her wonderful personality and warm demeanor made the tour feel like I was exploring with a friend. She was incredibly understanding and flexible, tailoring the tour to fit my interests and ensuring I was comfortable every step of the way. Hana also captured some beautiful photos, allowing me to keep these memories forever. I highly recommend Hana to anyone looking for a genuine and enriching tour of Tokyo—she truly made my day unforgettable! She asks about my interests, anticipates the obstacles and prepares the reservation. Каринка applies her knowledge of Kharkiv to suit the tourist’s interests. A memorable experience involved the tour of the zoo in Kharkiv. We visited a variety of animal dens and watched their captivity. The interaction with the monkeys was cute and amusing. The mirror room served as a pleasant challenge. It was difficult to determine if an entry was real or a reflection! Каринка identified the exit of the mirror room! What a relief! Without her determination, I would have predicted an endless loop of false turns. Каринка saved the day! Another joyful experience involved an evening at Stargorod Restaurant. The customers can seize the opportunity to participate in karaoke. Каринка filmed my performance of singing, “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” It is one of my favorite songs.
