Shut The Box Deluxe is an iPad version of the classic game of chance. We think it's the best looking version available. Also known as Canoga, the game is thought to have originated in England or perhaps Northern France. Wooden versions have been played for many years in pubs around the world. Our App offers options to let you play the standard game and some popular variations, especially the "Thai Rules" version popular in Asia. The second you touch to roll, if that roll will be impossible to make, the icon telling you so can be seen rolling along the bottom of the screen even before the dice stop. Sort of takes the anticipation away. Should be a simple change to delay the appearance of this icon until the dice stop. ### 1/5 — Grrr *2014-05-15* Total rubbish as I can't change the number of players to anything other than 1 player! ### 1/5 — Wrong game play *2011-12-04* Whilst looking fine the game cannot be played in the most popular way. I have played this game for hours at bars through out SE asia and you always are allowed to either combine the dice numbers together or use just one of the dice numbers. ie, if you rolled a one and a five you can choose three options, combine to be six, or use just as one or just as five ignoring the other dice then rolling again. This version makes you combine the dice every time which in turn makes the game last no more than a couple of rolls and is really no fun at all. ### 4/5 — Needs Fixing Otherwise 5 Star *2011-11-30* Plays a good game and looks very authentic. However the single player multi round scoring does not work. More than one player it scores ok. Also you can not shut a box and then change your mind for example if you throw a total of 9 you could just shut the 9 but then there are other combinations of 9 that you may decide to use instead but once it's shut it's shut which is no good, must have an undo option or just slide the 9 back up again. Left handed option would be good as other versions on iTunes do have this but are not as good in other ways. Ability to save a game would be good too. Let's see what response we get from the developer with an update. ### 3/5 — Needs work yet. *2010-04-11, version 0* This is a decent version of the game. It needs an undo for tallying the points. The player should not have to be stuck with a 7 when they could have used another combination.
