## What is Shut Up?!?

Shut Up?! is an opt-in conversation mirror for meetings, dinners, dates, family debates, and every story that somehow became a keynote.

Start a session before the conversation begins. Your iPhone processes speech locally, compares your timed word count with everyone else as one anonymous group, and shows the balance across one, five, and thirty minutes, plus the full session. When your share drifts too far, your Apple Watch taps first. If the streak continues, Shut Up?! escalates politely: a Live Activity, then a notification, then one of six dryly funny alarm personas.

BUILT BETWEEN CLASSES

I built Shut Up?! as a Wharton MBA student, mostly because I kept hearing myself talk. The readability and word-choice measures follow the textual analysis material Professor Brian Bushee teaches in Financial Disclosure Analytics at Wharton. Any mistakes in them are mine, and neither he nor Wharton had any hand in the app.

THE FINE PRINT

Shut Up?! jokes about your numbers, never your character. It is a self-awareness tool, not a recorder, a surveillance tool, or a substitute for professional advice. Everyone in the conversation should know a session is running. That is what opt-in means.
