## What is Siciliapp?

Sicilian is not a dialect of Italian - it is its own language, and this is a flashcard app for learning it. 296 hand-written cards. Five decks free.

It is the language your grandparents argued, joked and prayed in, and UNESCO lists it as vulnerable. Ten minutes a day is enough to start carrying it forward.

Tap a card to flip it, grade how well you knew it, and a spaced-repetition schedule brings it back on the day you were about to forget it.

EVERY CARD, IN FULL
• Sicilian on the front, English on the back
• An example sentence, usually with its translation
• Usage notes - including where Messina-area speech parts ways with written Sicilian (bon jornu is often heard as bon jonnu)

THE NINE DECKS
• Sicilian Basics
• Common Phrases
• Numbers, Time & Dates
• Family & Relationships
• Essential Verbs & Actions
• Food & Cuisine
• Home & Daily Life
• Around Town & Travel
• People, Body & Feelings

HOW STUDYING WORKS
• Tap to flip, then grade yourself: Again, Hard, Good or Easy
• A simplified SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm picks the next review date for each card
• Set your session length anywhere from 5 to 30 cards
• A summary at the end of every session
• Haptics and a card-flip animation, so a session feels like handling real cards

WHAT PROGRESS SHOWS YOU
• Cards reviewed today, cards due now, cards due tomorrow
• Overall mastery, as a percentage
• Mastery deck by deck, so you can see what is going stale

FREE AND PAID, PLAINLY
Five decks are free forever - Sicilian Basics, Common Phrases, Numbers/Time & Dates, Family & Relationships, and Essential Verbs & Actions. That is 160 cards, with no trial clock and no account.

Lifetime Unlock is a single $29.99 purchase that opens the other four decks - Food & Cuisine, Home & Daily Life, Around Town & Travel, and People, Body & Feelings - 136 more cards. One payment, kept for good. No subscription, no ads, nothing to cancel. Restore Purchases is in Settings.

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE
No account, no sign-up, no email, no tracking, no analytics. Your cards and your review history live in a database on your device. The app works with no signal at all - on a plane, on a ferry, in your nonna's kitchen. The only time it touches the network is to complete or restore a purchase.

WHO IT IS FOR
• Anyone with Sicilian family, anywhere in the world, who grew up hearing the language and never learned it
• Travellers who would rather order in Sicilian than in Italian
• Anyone who cares that a vulnerable language keeps being spoken

ONE HONEST NOTE
Version 1.0 is text only - there is no audio yet. Pronunciation lives in the usage notes for now. If you need a card to sound right in your ear, say so in a review and it will be read.

Iamu! Let's go.
