Don't understand how this app is supposed to work. Does it connect to your car via WiFi? My car detects nothing.

When I run it I get to the tutorial and it asks me to turn my cruise control on. Not being connected to the car, nothing happens when I do this.

Saw this app on YouTube, I don't get it?
