Last week I wondered if there is also a mobile app to jot some notes on the go and sync it to my Mac. Perfect! It’s now my perfect quick capture system and I can easily sort everything where it needs to be on my Mac. ❤️ Feature request: Please make it possible to make the feature „new note“ available in Apple Shortcuts on iPhone. However, this one is the best for short term notes and quick reference items and lists. Lots of customizations available. Love the iCloud sync between my devices, works flawlessly. Just the right amount of features without feeling bloated. Apple notes is my usual app but the lack of themes, markdown support, etc make it hard to do everything I want on it. Sidenotes fills that void, the only thing missing is app widgets for ios. But I recently reached out to the developer about my desire for widgets and it seems like it will be something coming in the future! The quick response and willingness to learn/improve is really what made this app a full 5 stars for me. ### 5/5 — Truly amazing! *2023-10-13* I recall using this app years back in school. Of course, everything was novelty back when. Fast forward several years and I found myself needing something just like this to take and have some notes always handy, and I recalled this app. I downloaded it for my iMac and to my surprise, my old notes I had saved in iCloud were still present. It was neat seeing the old junk I jest back then, mostly command shortcuts to editing apps and some other random notes. However, after I started to use this app all over again, I felt a much greater sense of appreciation for it. Now, I can’t see myself without it as I am using it to gather information from different sources I will need for different projects. Main folders divide my projects and sheets within these folders are used to gather information in smaller categories as needed. I also want to say that I felt it was worth the buy and purchased the iPhone version and it runs as smoothly as the desktop. And it’s always nice to have the information there regardless of where I started the notes. There are no integrations to move notes to a PKM. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2023-01-19* So outdated app interface! They want us to buy separate Mac app is almost double the price of iOS and don’t even justify the price as some of the feature doesn’t even sync like if I have added attachment it will just not show on iOS as it doesn’t support that. Interface is cumbersome and outdated. So it’s just a money grab for setapp subscriber. **Developer response:** I'm sorry you feel disappointed. As far as I know, you can ask for refund. Regarding the file attachment, it's stated on our website that the app doesn't support them. The reason for that is it's technically impossible to synchronize them between macOS and iOS / iPadOS. Price is a half of the macOS app price. Both are one-time purchase. I believe it's reasonable, but if you don't, you don't have to buy it. Regarding Setapp, we would love to publish the app there, but it wasn't possible because of the technical requirement that SideNotes couldn't met (it's neither their or us fault.) Adding support for widgets on the “Today View” of the home screen would make it a true “Side” note app, as users could access their notes quickly without opening the app. 2. Please consider adding the “Bar” option for “Note Color,” just like in the Mac version. The ease of use functionality is still missing from ios unfortunately. Some options that would really make this a 5 star app include - Widgets; having this option is incredible for Applenotes and other notes apps - Shortcuts: prebuilt shortcuts or just the option under apps to include sidenotes. - Siri integration: I don’t know how feasible this is, it would be excellent but the development requirements may be a bit beyond scope so I am not necessarily demanding this but it would be a benefit. ### 4/5 — Swiping to make the side note panel visible does not work for me *2023-11-15* Title says it **Developer response:** That is possible through the system behavior: slide over. Having my notes be ever-present is excellent, and I love the opportunity to create apple shortcuts. For example, when I start my workday I have a shortcut that opens teams, email, and creates a new sidenote for the day in an appropriate folder. It’s very straight forward in its functionality and doesn’t have clutter. Great for quick notes and meetings. I love the themes.
