## What is Sideway Podcast Player?

Sideway turns your podcast feed into a stack of cards. Every new episode from the shows you follow lands on the Stack: swipe right to save it, left to pass, or tap Play now. No more scrolling a list of hundreds of unplayed episodes.

STACK
• New episodes from your shows, one card at a time
• Save for later or pass with a swipe
• Choose how far back the Stack reaches

LIBRARY
• Saved: your play-through list, in your order
• In Progress: pick up exactly where you stopped
• My Shows: every episode of every show you follow
• Bookmarks: mark a moment and get an on-device transcript of it
• History: what you actually listened to, day by day

FRIENDS
• Invite the people you trust with a link
• See which episodes your friends listened to and for how long
• Private by design: only friends you connect with can see your listening, and they never see your notes, bookmarks or queue

YOUR LIBRARY, BACKED UP
Sign in with Apple and your shows, progress, history and bookmarks are kept in your account. Get a new iPhone, sign in, and everything is back.

Sideway itself shows no ads. Search and follow any podcast in the Apple directory.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-10-09

New in 1.1

• CarPlay: your player, a bookmark button and playback speed on the car screen, plus Saved, In Progress and your shows.
• Download episodes to listen offline, from any episode's page.
• Much better search: a top result, typo-tolerant matching, recent searches, your own shows first, and paste an Apple, Spotify, Overcast or Substack link to open the show.
• Playback speed is remembered per show.
• Bookmarks are grouped by episode.
• AirPods: double-press skips forward 30 seconds, triple-press goes back 15.
• Chapters now appear for more shows.
• Remove a friend and stop sharing at any time.
• A pause during a phone call stays paused afterwards.
• Fixes: listening synced from another device no longer undoes what you played; switching accounts keeps each library separate; titles no longer show "&"; artwork in the Friends tab loads faster.
