It pops back to the startup screen which is annoying. When I pick a cartridge it shouldn’t resort to default in between apps…. Others have complained about this and possible incorrect data. This should be an easy fix…. Overall it’s a great app for the five dollars I paid. One other reloading app subscription I purchased was four times that price and promised a paper copy of the manual, which I never received. The Sierra app is a great resource for the money for sure. I won’t be renewing my subscription however, because it’s impossible to even purchase reloading components and will probably remain that way for some time. So what’s the point of reloading data? ### 1/5 — Needs update *2020-12-15, version 6.0.3* It took Sierra a long time to embrace a mobile app for reloaders, almost as long as it took for a new manual. Unfortunately they aren’t doing a good job of keeping up with the app. As Apple keeps rolling out bee devices and updating their iOS, Sierra need to keep up with their app. Most current version hasn’t been updated in a year and is now crashing on loading screen with newest iOS installed. I actually like the UI. Wouldn’t change it. But you need to be able to get to the data in order for it to be worth anything. I would like to see BC info a little easier to find and view in order to compare bullets easier. ### 1/5 — App Won’t Open *2020-11-17, version 6.0.3* Purchased the App and it worked fine but now won’t open. ### 4/5 — Good App!! *2020-10-31, version 6.0.3* Only issue so far is when you accidentally flip your phone from portrait to landscape the App starts you over at .20 cal. Other than that I’m pleased as can be!! ### 3/5 — Data is painfully lacking *2020-08-11, version 6.0.3* For the 9mm Luger, there is not one single load for 147gr bullets. Popular powders like Sport Pistol and N320 aren’t even listed for 115gr or 124gr. On top of that, the app hasn’t been updated in over a year. Yeah, I’m aware that Sierra is more geared towards rifles but 9mm is the most common cartridge in the world. Nevertheless it’s still a decent app which they could easily make into something great with a little effort. ### 3/5 — Two subscriptions required *2020-07-31, version 6.0.3* Unlike some of the other reviewers, I do not find fault with the user interface nor do I think the information is inaccurate. I do, however, take exception to the fact that two subscriptions are required if you want to run the app on both your iPhone and your iPad. Apple went to great lengths to make sure users could not “cheat” when purchasing apps or subscriptions. When both the iPhone and iPad are assigned to the same account, one subscription should work for both. It’s like having to buy a second reloading manual for your garage because your bedroom manual won’t work there. I remain a fan of Sierra’s bullets and of their reloading data and I own both versions V & version VI paper manuals. I just wish they’d thought their subscription policy through a little better. ### 2/5 — Looks like a good data source, but embarrassingly clunky spp *2020-07-25, version 6.0.3* I just downloaded this, hoping for an easy way to avoid paying $35+ for data updates on the half dozen cartridges that interest me. I haven’t yet compared the data to that in my Ver. 5 manual (it better be different), but the app feels like it was developed by an intern. If I select a cartridge and load, then turn my phone from portrait to landscape, I have to go through the selection process all over (resets to first load in the database). Instead of presenting the data in tabular form (like a manual), they use a little slider on the bottom to vary the load/velocity value. Of course, if you move a bit when going this, you’ll revert back to the default. I guess Sierra knows bullets and not app development, but please go hire someone who both develops apps professionally and also hand loads. This just isn’t good enough. And it would be nice to have something I could use on my Windows computer... ### 1/5 — Junk *2020-07-06, version 6.0.3* Thought this would be good app and paid the 5.00 and nothing loads just the welcome screen, go to their site and try to register as a new member and just get a log in screen only. Extremely disappointed and won’t bother with any of their products again ### 1/5 — Has Errors *2020-06-24, version 6.0.3* Listed velocities for 357 mag pistol data are off by 300 to 400 fps. 357 mag rifle data is totally missing from the app. Talked to tech support at Sierra and he was UNAWARE of these issues but agreed they need to be fixed. What other errors are there that Sierra is unaware of? Because of the potential safety issues when reloading, it is imperative that the data be properly vetted. This is clearly not the case with this app. It’s very disappointing. I always considered Sierra to be a top operation with good quality data and bullets. Now my opinion has changed. Sadly I won’t be buying any more Sierra bullets since I can’t trust their data. ### 2/5 — Not very modern *2020-06-20, version 6.0.3* This app is very old looking and isn’t very easy to navigate. I understand keeping stuff simple, but most of the app is run-on paragraphs of information. Making the app more intuitive and adding buttons and pictures would go a long way with me. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Wrong Load Data *2026-05-18, version 6.0.3* Still publishing completely wrong load data. 300 BLK, 230gr SMK cannot be loaded with greater than 10.5gr of A1680 and loaded to AR mag length. Yet you show show powder loads up to 14.5 gr which is completely impossible even compressing the load. Who knows how many other impossible or dangerous loads are in this data. You make great bullets but your load data is terrible. ### 1/5 — Out of date *2026-04-25, version 6.0.3* It would be nice if they updated the app! Very disappointed in this unethical practice. ### 1/5 — Zero *2021-07-31, version 6.0.3* Should be zero star rating because that is what I got after purchasing the app; absolutely nothing. Tried to restore purchase received “encountered error trying to verify purchase.” Deleted app and reloaded and got same message. Tried on my phone with same results. Clicked “report a problem” on the Apple receipt; that is useless. Tried the app support, it took me to Sierra bullets website with “Sorry but we couldn’t find the page you are looking for.” I’m guessing they have a zero rating for it also. ### 1/5 — I would pass on this App *2021-07-19, version 6.0.3* I purchased a subscription and every time i try to use it i have to restore the subscription, now i get an error when trying to restore. It does however allow me to get to the point of purchasing another subscription. Too many better sources out there. I reload thousands of rounds of ammunition a year in multiple standard and oddball calibers. The separate data for AR platforms in 223 Rem is especially welcome. And it’s nice to be able to have the velocities for the intermediate loads to see how your gun is reacting compared to the test firearm. Easy and intuitive interface takes you to the information you need. Using velocity as a primary vector for a cartridge is a little strange, and it would be nice to get a print out of a given bullet weight/cartridges combination. Hopefully future versions will continue to improve the interface. People need to be more flexible, though.
