### 2/5 — Snarky customer service

*2019-06-27, version 2.7.7*

“Do let us know if you need more clarification” was what I received when I let them know that they were charging me for a “refund” I never got because the item had been returned. I got told to mark my items I don’t want tracked “do not track”. Here’s the thing, I closed my account and deleted the app months ago. I’d rather not go round and round trying to not get feed for items I didn’t get a savings on. Makes the savings not worth it, the privacy issues are too great and the customer service was the last straw.

### 2/5 — Good? Yes. Necessity? Maybe.

*2019-06-10, version 2.7.5*

I’ve still never gotten a discount or refund using Swift. Tracking is nice, but a bunch of apps do that now. (My email app, for example)

After 6 months of using it, I’m not sure it’s important to me, but I’ll stay with it a bit longer.

—

Got a response from the developer. I have to say, it verifies this review as being 100% accurate, but also makes me lower the star rating, because after 6 months, the app does nothing more than it did, and is still kinda...meh. It pushes me to new credit cards I don’t want. It tells me nothing more than several other apps also tell me.

### 3/5 — Used to be a great app

*2019-02-09, version 2.6.6*

No longer has price protection on my cards. When I first signed up this was a great app that saved me money by notifying me of price drops on recent purchases. Apparently they have partnered with CitiBank because now they want me to use their cards for price protection and have dropped the service on all of my other cards. App is useless to me now.

### 4/5 — Minor improvement needed

*2018-09-26, version 2.5.4*

I wish there was a way that it could automatically tell which credit cards were used instead of the customer going into each purchase to manually disclose which credit card was used.

### 4/5 — Great App!

*2018-06-01, version 2.5.0*

This app is awesome! Especially when it comes to the price protection and change alerts. They even give a delivery status on items. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because it does need some work. The visuals can be a little glitchy and they don’t always have the correct card matched with a purchase, so I have to change it from time to time. But other than that, it truly is a great app. :)

**Developer response:** Hi, Thanks for downloading Sift and the feedback. Please email us at support@siftwallet.com regarding your feedback and suggestions. We'll be glad to work on them and bring you a better update. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Good but...

*2018-03-06, version 2.4.1*

the idea is good, but I need the ability to tell Sift when I use something other than a credit card so I can get rid of the notifications. I use PayPal a lot and debit cards too. Even if I can’t ‘unlock’ the benefits at least let me tell you that I didn’t use a credit card.

### 2/5 — Sounds like a great app until you need help.

*2018-03-03, version 2.4.1*

I downloaded this app because I love the idea of it. However, after spending time setting it up, I had a few questions. I went straight to the FAQ’s and read through it. Nope, nada, very little information on troubleshooting. No worries I thought, I will just zip off an email to their customer service and I will probably have an answer back within a couple of hours. Well, after spending all day worrying that I have handed over my credit card numbers AND access to my personal email to an unknown entity that won’t return 2 emails requesting help, I have decided I will just delete my account. I am glad it works for some people, but the lack of response is annoying.

**Developer response:** Hi,
Thanks for downloading Sift. We are really sorry for the delay in response. Can you please email us at support@siftwallet.com. Our team will get back to you immediately. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Decent

*2018-02-27, version 2.4.1*

Pretty decent. I have received several refund of $5 or less. Nothing major but money is money. Love to see all the protections my cards offer which I was never aware of. Now I have to think which card is the next to is depending on the purchaseS.

### 2/5 — Almost Pointless

*2018-02-05, version 2.4.0*

I mainly only use this app to manually track prices because after about a month, my first “automatic” refund claim has yet to produce any results or show up on my account.

Even using this to track price changes doesn’t work well, considering I consistently have a notification badge of 30+ notifications on the app icon every day, but I have no idea what those are even for. There’s nothing in the notifications screen in the app aside from one or two status updates about packages being delivered.

**Developer response:** Hi,
Thanks for downloading Sift. We are sorry to hear about the issues you are facing in the app. Please mail us at support@siftwallet.com . We will look into your account and help you with your requests.
Thanks.

### 5/5 — Love this AP

*2018-01-28, version 2.3.2*

Found out about this AP and on the day I activated it It found $100 dollars, I could of saved but sadly I was using the wrong credit card. I can't wait to start saving money now that I got my card with the price protection loaded. Great AP if for any reason it lets you unlock some of the benefits your cards have and keep track of your spending.

### 4/5 — Works very well

*2018-01-19, version 2.4.0*

Definitely appreciate the fact that you can look up all of the benefits and protections associated with each of your credit cards. Very handy reference when trying to calculate which card to use in which venue, gas vs. shopping etc.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Going to cancel

*2022-04-16, version 2.9.950*

As a financial application, it is my expectation that the fee structure would be both extremely easy to find and very easy to understand.
When signing up for the “premium” level there is no disclosure that addition fees will be charged if some price change refund is processed.
When searching for fees in the help section they are not prominently displayed.
I have no confidence that I fully understand what I’m may be charged, so this app seems risky and not something I’ll continue using.

**Developer response:** Hi,
We do not charge anything more that our subscription fee which also comes with a trial period within which you are free to cancel the subscription. Our Subscription screen also clearly explains our offerings on Premium vs Free plans. Please reach out to support@siftwallet.com for further explanation and queries. Thanks for your feedback, Team Sift.

### 1/5 — Long Con

*2020-03-05, version 2.9.1*

At first the app works fairly well. Then they stop actually issuing the refunds and charge you for services never rendered, all while “SIFT”ing through your purchase history and spending patterns long after you’ve given up on actively using the app due to the endless (false alarm notifications.)

If you do use it, actively get your price match refund yourself. This way you know YOU will get it and not some shady entity.

### 1/5 — Absolutely one of the worst apps I’ve ever downloaded

*2020-03-04, version 2.9.1*

Love the idea but something very very funky is going on with the app in its current iteration. I tried to set it up like 25 times for each benefit they offer and I was t able to complete a single one. I was BARELY even able to sign up, that was almost rejected too. Something is seriously broken. Now the app is just straight up crashing.

### 1/5 — Won’t Help Me

*2019-12-03, version 2.8.5*

I really wouldn’t give them just one star ordinarily. But because they continue to spam my email in box even after I told them to cease and desist. There’s no link i their emails to unsubscribe so replies are the only way to tell them to stop sending emails. Again I’ve asked politely but they are still spamming my inbox. Also I pay for all of my online purchases via gift cards, so this really won’t help me.

### 1/5 — Not Impressed

*2019-05-15, version 2.7.3*

I signed up through a referral from a friend and was hoping to get some benefits since I buy online quite a bit. However it roped me into signing up a 14 day premium trial, which o cancelled after day one, but they still continued to charge my card even after I reached out to their support to confirm my account was cancel. This only work if you have credit cards with price protection otherwise you are just enabling them to access your email and other accounts. There is no way to deactivate your account from as far as I can tell. Now I get to see how slow and responsive their customer service is in order to remedy the issues I got to encounter...

**Developer response:** Hi, We are sorry to hear about our concerns. Please email us at support@siftwallet.com and our team will be able to help you out at the earliest possible. Thanks.

### 1/5 — Misleading UI and unresponsive customer service

*2019-05-03, version 2.7.2*

Mentioned I had been refunded $15 for a price drop but I had no way of accessing it and it didn’t show up anywhere on my statements. I reached out to customer service over three days ago and they still have not responded.

UPDATE: The company then charged my credit card a FEE for providing me a non existent refund. I am now having to talk to their customer service to get back this bogus fee. I’ve wasted a lot of time with this app, I would NOT RECOMMEND this app to anyone.

They took a month to respond to my initial request for clarity citing “technical issues”, but just in time to be able to charge me a fee. This is some extremely shady stuff. I wish I could attach images of the CS chat.

**Developer response:** Hi,
We are sorry to hear about your concerns. Please email us at support@siftwallet.com and our team could help identify the missed price drop and what could be done further.
Thanks.
Team Sift.

### 1/5 — Takes 25% but does not file a claim

*2019-02-08, version 2.6.6*

I decided to allow Sift to file a claim for a recent price drop and allow you to take 25% of the refund. I thought Sift was going to file the claim. I just received an email from Sift with instructions on how to submit a claim myself by calling my credit card company — I already know how to do this. I went through Sift because it would be more convenient than being on the phone with Wells Fargo for over an hour. Why should I authorize Sift to take 25% when they did not file a claim?

### 1/5 — Lies/Rip off/False advertisement

*2019-01-08, version 2.6.4*

When you research this app, online it says it is a FREE app and there are other “add ons” and does not state you have to have any of them. When you download this app from the App Store as soon as you try to open the app it prompts you for a credit card number before you ever get to see what it does. It offers a 14 day trial, but wants your card information before minute 1, much less day 1. I’m sorry, I was born at night, just not last night!!! My credit card information is stored within my Apple account. I would never put my credit card information into an app!!! Deleted this app immediately!!!

### 1/5 — I was excited about this app

*2018-12-27, version 2.6.4*

I’m sure that this app has some great value and I have not been able to justify the fees involved with it. I sent a feedback request and don’t think anyone has responded. There are two other apps I use to track purchases and get cash back. They are both free. I’ve found other apps that handle some of the other features. It would be nice to have everything in one place and I just can’t justify the expense to do so. Maybe this review will garner a response that would change my mind. Until then, I’m canceling the free trial.

### 1/5 — Poor follow up; no support.

*2017-11-02, version 2.3.1*

I joined Sift on the 27 September 2017. Today...I’m still waiting for them to notify me when they will support my credit card, which I use on a daily basis. It’s a well used Capital One credit card... which is not in their database. Sift is a great concept, but in practice they don’t seem to support many credit cards (or add these to their database in a timely manner). So my patience has run out... and I’m saying goodbye to Sift 🙁

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great little app

*2022-07-20, version 2.9.956*

This is a really good app. It can be a little bit tedious doing data entry when you first get it, but once its dialed in it isn't bad at all! Give it a shot!

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2021-12-14, version 2.9.943*

I had splurged on a computer for my daughter for Christmas. I NEVER check ads or prices once I’ve bought an item. I received an automated email from Sift letting me know there was a significant price drop on the computer and the exact steps to take to request a price adjustment. They saved me almost $200 and it couldn’t have been easier!

### 5/5 — Great savings product!

*2021-08-30, version 2.9.941*

Much improved over the last time I used it 1-2 years ago….

### 5/5 — Saving more than on couponing!

*2021-05-21, version 2.9.90*

I normally don’t write reviews unless service was ridiculously horrible however I have nothing but nice things to say about sift not only has it saved me a bunch of money I would have never looked for on my own but it also has taught me a lot about my credit cards that I never even knew existed yes they charge a 25% fee but without them there’s no way I would be filing claims & checking for price drops within less than a month sift has found me over $200 that’s not including the $183 that I didn’t receive because I wasn’t completely aware of the process & didn’t file claims in time. Love sift would definitely recommend to any & everyone Plus really what can it hurt?! All your doing is giving your card info which is secure never once have I seen any unauthorized charges only thing I’ve received is a bunch of checks yes there small but they add up biggest check I’ve got was $60 on one item. Such a great app

**Developer response:** Hi, Thanks a lot for your review. Please email us at support@siftwallet.com for further suggestions. We'll be happy to improve our app based on your feedback. Thanks, Team Sift.

### 5/5 — Surprised and pleased

*2018-05-31, version 2.5.0*

I have received three checks in the mail already for money I was genuinely eligible for but wouldn’t have known otherwise. I definitely recommend it!

### 5/5 — App doesn’t update

*2018-03-25, version 2.4.1*

For me, the app doesn’t update unless I uninstall it, reboot my phone, and reinstall it. But even then, I can only view the new purchases. I have to go to the website to hit the button to submit claims. What’s the point in the app then? I can’t even do a remove and re-add of accounts in the add. The app was working fine until about 3 weeks ago.

**Developer response:** Hi,
Please update to the latest version of our app. We have addressed most of these issues. Please mail us at support@siftwallet.com for further concerns. We'll make sure your concerns are addressed at the earliest possible and fixed in the next app release. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Helped me detect a fraudulent charge

*2018-03-21, version 2.4.1*

I'm almost in tears now. Thanks to sift I was able to detect a charge made in my Macy's account. Someone hacked into my Macy's account and changed the shipping. If it hasn't been for this app I would've checked my email way later and it would've been too late to cancel it. Still feeling shaky but have a lot to be grateful for.

**Developer response:** Hi, Thanks a lot for your review. Really glad that we could be of service.

### 5/5 — Yep, it’s in here!

*2018-03-03, version 2.4.1*

Trying to remember best card for extended warranty? Best card to use with rental car? How about price match when price goes down? I can’t keep all that in my head so I love Sift. It’s all in one place and so easy to use. Truly a useful app. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Saves me money

*2018-02-05, version 2.4.0*

I've already been able to save some money thanks to Sift. It found a lower price on some items I bought and it provided what I need to submit a price protection claim with my credit card company. It also worked on my behalf with a store's price match guarantee and I didn't have to do a thing.

### 5/5 — My bank is giving me problems with price protection

*2018-02-02, version 2.4.0*

Hey guys, love the app! I think it’s a great idea. But I’m having issues with actually getting my money back when there’s a price drop defected. I’ve submitted about a dozen, but only gotten money back for one, I think.

So the price protection on my chase credit card is run by a third party company apparently. When I submit a claim through sift they’ll send me an email saying that they’ve received it. About a month later they send me an email saying my claim in incomplete and is missing a copy of my statement and an ad proving I found a better price.

I’ll usually take a screenshot of the app and send along my statement. Then they’ll say that the ad isn’t dated and that they tried to find it but couldn’t.

So my question is, I’m sure I’ll still have to send them my statement every time. But is there an option for sift to save a dated file that proves the price drop somehow? Or should I switch banks? Do other sift users have this issue with other banks?

Thank you!
