### 4/5 — Metronome not working after update

*2020-10-09*

Apple sent out a software update recently, and after applying it to my iPad, the metronome only gives one click. This is a fabulous app and I hope someone is out there reading this that can and will fix it! I’ve been using it for years and would even pay for it to work again!

최근에 잘 사용하고 있다가 어느 날 갑자기 재생을 하는데 메트로놈 소리가 안 나오기 시작했습니다

### 4/5 — Good

I like it

### 4/5 — Neat Rehearsal Tool

*2016-10-18*

It would help to have variable tempo. I'm not a good enough reader to get it at the program's set metronome speed. Is there a way to adjust.

Just found method for tempo adjust. It is not at all intuitive - you have to swipe up and down in the blank space below the score. Tempo should be set in the set-up menu.

### 4/5 — Please add STARTING PITCH for vocalists!

*2016-07-20*

This is a very good app. 5-stars if a starting reference pitch option is included along with the count-off!!

### 1/5 — Not working

*2021-03-25*

The metronome plays only one beat then it skips a whole range on notes. Totally unusable!

### 1/5 — 메트로놈랑 음정

재생하면 메트로놈 안들리고 음정 들렸다가 안들렸다가 이상합니다

### 1/5 — No piano!

*2017-02-02*

There is no Granstaff for piano practice. What is up with that?

### 2/5 — 5 Stars if you fix the Metronome

*2021-01-16*

I just purchased this, and you guys have got to fix this metronome! It literally clicks once, which is not setting a tempo. Two beats are essential to set a tempo, and four counts (or however many would indicate the time signature) is standard practice.
Also, I’d like to set the note choices to just a few notes at a time. One full octave as the smallest range is too much for teaching beginner students.

I really like the layout, and would recommend this to my students, if the metronome is fixed and fewer notes could be selected.
Thanks

### 2/5 — Metronome not working

*2021-01-09*

Every time I start a new round begin, the metronome ticks only once.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work anymore in new i0s update

Help. There is no click anymore. It clicks once and then no click. I0s 14

### 2/5 — Great app with a serious shortcoming

*2017-09-11*

There's a lot that I love about this app, but as a bassist, I need to practice reading notes well above the staff. The note stems are too short and obscure the ledger lines above the staff - especially when reading 16th notes. I'd give this app 5 stars if this bug didn't exist.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2016-08-27*

When I saw that there was an update, I was excited. I really like this app. It's a great way to practice sight reading! But I had to stop using it because of the frustration in trying to read the notes above the staff. I have contacted the developer, but they don't seem to want to fix this. The stems of the notes are too short, so if you have 8th or 16th notes, the bar on the notes covers up the ledger lines, making it almost impossible to read the notes above the staff. For a flutist, this is simply unacceptable.

### 3/5 — PERCUSSION DO NOT GET!!

*2016-10-26*

Im sure this app is great and all so im not saying that you shouldn't get it brass, strings, and guitars, but if you are percussion please do not buy! I thought this would be a good way to practice for all state band for percussion, but I didn't know that it was not on the app. So that also means please oh please add snare and bells to this app it would make it so much better😩. Thank you!

### 3/5 — Finally an app for sight reading!!!!

*2015-06-20*

Good app. The notation leaves a lot to be desired though. A lot of times the notation "hides" beat three inside a dotted note. and some 16th notes don't get beamed properly. It would also be nice to have an option for a neutral key signature, so that accidentals show on every note. This is the way it is done in film scoring because the keys change so quickly using all accidentals is better for this application. This would be a great option for anyone that is interested in learning to sight read for film scoring sessions. There should also be an option to not have an accented beat one on the metronome setting. One other thing that could be improved is the note highlighting. It's a good idea but the highlighting stays on the note for that duration of that note. It would be much better to keep your eye moving if the highlighting moved evenly through the bar with the metronome. Possibly as just a parallel line. All in all a good app. I wish I had this when I was first learning to sight read!

### 5/5 — Drums & Percussion exercises

*2020-11-27*

Hope you add drums exercises for us to practice, I move this app

### 5/5 — Really Good!!

*2020-10-20*

Hello,

I’m a cruise ship guitarist and the app “sight reading machine” helps me a lot! I practice a lot with it! I recommend the app to my musician friends.

I want to kindly ask you if you would add some updates, maybe it will be helpful to improve what is already amazing for me.

1 Can you please increase or put an option to increase the amount of bars in the exercises?

2 I, as a guitar player, often have to sight read written chords.

Can you please put an option to read written chords with an option to choose the amount of notes in the chords? It would be perfect to have.

3 Can you please add swing sixteenths notes? I’ve got a bunch of jazz and funk stuff to sight read.

4 I can’t take out the quarter notes when I get to the place to choose the notes I want. Can you please make it possible?

5 It gets really complicated to set a specific tempo with the way the controls are made. Can you put something like a plus and a minus button to change the tempo easily?

I want to thank you for this amazing app again! It helps me get my sight reading in shape before and during every contract on ships with bunch of sight reading shows! It’s amazing! Thank you thank you thank you.

### 5/5 — This is a Godsend!

What a great practice too;! Perhaps one of the most brilliant apps of this century!
Please update it so it works in ios14.

### 5/5 — LOVE This App

*2018-08-17*

This is a phenomenal app that does exactly what I envisioned I would need when I started to research sight reading apps.

I learned to read music as a teenager for clarinet, but, in college, learned to play guitar by ear, so I never developed the associations between notes on a page and muscle memory for a stringed instrument. Lately, I’ve taken up mandolin, and again, my training focusing on Irish music and bluegrass has been ear based as well. However, I want to play classical pieces with my wife and friends, and I realized I need to build up the same associations between notes on a page and mandolin fingerings that I once had for clarinet fingerings.

The app presents you with randomized notes, which you have to play. It plays with you, so you get instant feedback. You can adjust the key, the tempo, the time signature, the complexity of the rhythms, add accidentals, add ties, and decide whether you wish to automatically reshuffle the notes after every playing or replay the measures until you get the pitches and the note values correct for that particular exercise. And it covers a wide range of instruments across multiple clefs. No mandolin setting, but since a mandolin is tuned like a violin, it’s not a problem.

Will it ever replace sight reading exercise books? Heck no, it’s an inexpensive app. But what it does for developing basic sight reading is wonderful, even if you’re sitting on a bus away from your instrument. I love the fact that it randomized the exercises so you can’t cheat by using your ear training to get to the fingerings.

I’d give this app 10 stars, but 5 is the limit, so there you go. BTW, this is not a shill, nor do I know the developer. I don’t often review apps, and when I do, it’s usually to complain about being underwhelmed by something pricey. But this is great for any musician who want to build or exercise a basic music skill. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Must get for winds

*2017-05-12*

Especially since I can't carry around my Arbans and numerous sight reading books everywhere I go, definitely helpful for long rides to gigs. If you are a Wind, I would definitely recommend this app

### 4/5 — Metronome not working

*2020-11-12*

After the latest apple update the metronome isn’t working. It starts with one click then stops. Please fix, I use this app daily and really like to practice with it, but I need that metronome. Thank you
