They say the sight word name once and then move on to the letters of the word, not repeating the word itself at all. Each time at the end I would ask my daughter what the word was and she would shrug her shoulders because without the repetition of hearing the word multiple times she couldn’t remember what the sight word was. ### 3/5 — Not customisable *2016-09-28, version 1.1* I bought this on the recommendation that it is fully customisable for each child and while you can choose different words for each child those words come from lists within the app which you have to scroll through each list to find the word you require. However, it is COMPLETELY USELESS without sound. The sound worked on one occasion and now won’t work on any of my devices. There’s absolutely no way to contact anyone for support with this issue. Neither have sound and they were not the price advertised. Every other app on my phone is working with sound so it’s definitely just the app. I even tried deleting and reloading. And, yes, the audio on my phone is on and working. No way to contact developer or trouble shoot issue. Additionally, the app is difficult to navigate; it’s just poorly designed. I want to get my money back. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2019-01-06* I was excited to find a sight word app that allowed me to choose the words to work on, but after purchasing and playing the games with my daughter I realized that it wasn’t suitable for her. She struggles with spelling sight words in the correct order. A few of the games, such as the hangman game, praises her for getting the letters right even when it is in the wrong order. Further, I thought the last game, the sling shot game, was too hard for my 6 year old. It involved trying to hit moving targets with letters on them to spell the word. It was actually pretty hard to do. This game also doesn’t reinforce spelling in the correct order. ### 2/5 — Not for beginners *2018-01-24, version 1.4* Easy to use. Either they fixed the bug or your phone was on vibrate. Make sure your phone volume is on and it works great! This has been great as extra practice for my kindergartener who struggles with sight words. Have used it for over 2 years with both of my kids. The games learning activities are very well designed and engaging. Any chance a future version would let us add our own words? My daughter is in a bilingual school and I would love to use this system for vocabulary words in her second language. It needs a bug fixed as it frequently crashes (it freezes and won't continue). Frustrating when you are working one-on-one with a student and have to stop to help the other student.
