### 2/5 — Upgrade is not worth $4.99

*2019-09-11*

Maybe if it allowed you to enter custom words... but even with that $5 is a little steep for such a basic interface. The “hard” words are not 2nd grade level.

### 2/5 — Great concept, but has spelling and pronunciation error

*2016-03-14*

The concept is great - we loved the app until the word "another" came up spelled "anoth" and "because" came up spelled "becau". Also the word "been" was pronounced "bean". This is appalling for an application that teaches sight words. I have deleted the program and I'm very upset I paid for the upgrade. It is too bad because the program is fantastic.

### 2/5 — Ok game

*2015-09-20*

This game is okay. It loses its sound through the games, so the child can't finish the game. It doesn't list all the letters on some of the words. And it needs more levels. My 2nd grader just the game last night and she already knows most of the words. But I Love the concept.

### 2/5 — Not many words even with upgrades...

*2015-07-04*

Not many words and levels of difficulty. I've paid for the upgrades but it still has ads and there are still not many words. This game only takes a day to practice all the words for my first grader!

### 3/5 — Check your work

*2014-03-13, version 1.4*

The word "brother" is spelled "broth" on screen.

### 4/5 — Game ideas yes, list no

*2013-06-11*

The game ideas are engaging and effective for retention, but there are just 20 words. There are just ten words on the second grade word tour. There are usually 100 to 200 words on a school's list for one grade level. The Fry list is the most commonly used list. This isn't going to work for my students for more than one day.

### 4/5 — In-app upgrade

*2013-04-26*

I cannot upgrade from the app. It won't allow me to click on the button even after exiting app and restarting.

### 3/5 — Not user friendly

*2013-04-15*

No back button!! Words and games are great but cannot back out of a game/category or switch to another category without closing the app and opening again. Plus if you want to switch from 1st to 2nd grade words you have to go into settings which you cannot access except on the very first page which means closing and restarting app in order to access.

### 4/5 — Good, but in app purchase doesn't give full version.

*2013-03-12, version 1.4*

This is a good app for my 2.5 year old. In app upgrade drops the ads, but you cant download the full version on other devices, bummer. Have to pay again.

### 4/5 — Great but

*2013-02-11, version 1.4*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nothing

*2020-03-23, version 2.0*

I downloaded and tried to get on and all I got was an add and a bouncing ball over and over.

### 1/5 — Not for the UK

*2017-03-10, version 2.0*

I'm sure this app is fine if you are in the US however in the UK we pronounce things differently and therefore this app is no good for us.

### 1/5 — Dreadful

*2017-02-13, version 2.0*

This app doesn't understand basic things. For example, we NEVER jumble the letters in a word because doing that interferes with children learning the visual pattern of the word. We might break words into onset and rime and use onsets and rimes to make new words, but we NEVER jumble up all the letters. (Yes, it rime, not rhyme. If you don't know the difference, you're not a teacher -- or your teacher education let you down.)

### 1/5 — Incomplete words

*2017-01-06*

This app leaves the letters off of longer words. For example, it gave the word "brother" audibly, but had left off the "er" at the end on the screen, making the word "broth". It then spelled the word "brother" correctly audibly, but left of the "er" as it added each letter to the screen visually. Useless with these types of errors; worse than useless actually, since it would reinforce mistakes & create confusion for the child.

### 1/5 — Won't Load

*2016-05-04*

I downloaded the app 2 days ago, still hasn't loaded and won't delete. I've tried a soft reset and everything. Still there just waiting.

### 1/5 — Hate it

*2015-08-03, version 1.4*

I do not
Like this game it's stupid and weird

### 1/5 — they don't have one for year 3

*2013-07-13, version 1.4*

this is so easy I knew all these words when I was in kindergarten the bingo is stupid because you have all the words and your not playing with a player on line when you play with a player on line it's much funner and also the words are to easy for year 1& year 2 so bad I don't know why nearly all of you like it

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2013-03-03, version 1.4*

Really? Can I please give less than one star? Neither fun or educational. Unless you're punishing your child, do not download.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2012-07-18, version 1.2*

No use of phonics at all. To Americanised for my liking

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2012-07-01, version 1.1*

The app has no sound what good is that. Dont waste your money... One star for correct spelling that's all you get

### 5/5 — Teacher & mother approved! Kids are learning and having fun at the same time!

*2012-08-19*

I use this app at home for my 3 year old and at the school where I teach. This app is extremely easy to use and with multiple games, keeps children engaged for long while continuously learning by the repetitive voices of words and letters! Great app!! Definitely recommend the upgrade for all words.
