I love that I am able to customize my own list according to what sight words my daughter is assigned by her teacher. And that I can add any words I want and record them myself. The buttons and colors are bright and simple, not distracting and child user friendly. ;) My daughters LOVES that it's my voice she hears as the pronunciation of the word and not a robotic one. :) We use this app everyday after homework and she really enjoys learning her sight words with this app! Use it daily. Very helpful, as they can use it independantly when you are busy. You can create your own lists and record or have them record the words. They'll like hearing themselves. However the “gotcha” in-app purchases of grade level sight words appears to NOT be family shareable. I purchased the word packs on my ipad to check the whole thing out before adopting it for my first grader and putting it on her ipad, only to discover once loading it there that “restore purchases” does nothing and I had to buy the word packs over again. cheap shot, guys. very cheap shot. 🤨 Also, it doesn’t respond to decide rotation - it’s locked in one orientation even with rotation lock off. Clean it up, Mr Developer... ### 3/5 — Like everything except for one big flaw *2015-06-08* I like that it is big and clear. Also to be able to add your own words is nice. The flaw is that the sound button does not work. I have to say the word each time which is fine usually. I was really getting over creating flash cards that would get tattered, torn, lost, etc. This app not only allows you to create your own words, but then speak/record the pronunciation for each word so your child hears YOU, with your particular accent/dialect, instead of an accent they may not understand or recognize. I use it on iPod touch for my oldest,who is in 5th grade. He certainly did netter on his spelling test last week. I just wish there was a multi-language option, since my youngest is learning to read in Spanish.
