And Not Just read them.

### 5/5 — Teacher

*2018-01-11*

This is a great listening activity to work on sight words.

### 5/5 — Great app for sight words!

*2017-12-12*

This is great for kids who are learning sight words. Recommended!

### 4/5 — Cute themes !

*2017-12-11*

It’s great that you can switch between different themes- the train one with the train moving away after completion of a sentence is very engaging. The only thing that would make this perfect is the ability to add our own sentences- I would use this so often with my speech students, if that were the case.

### 4/5 — Sight Words

*2017-11-25*

A good introduction to sentence sorting and sight words.

### 4/5 — Great for interventions!

*2014-08-11, version 4.1*

I am an SLP in the schools and we often have to do interventions for students with both language and academic difficulties. This kills two birds with one stone, so to speak.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — this app is not functional

*2023-07-20*

ZERO stars

App has no sound or instruction - not as advertised and the developers site is “not found” to request refund.

Garbage- I expected better app vetting from Apple... Very disappointed

**Developer response:** Hello, we are always happy to help. To contact us, please tap on the gear icon to open the settings dialog. Then tap on the “Contact Us” button.

### 1/5 — Can’t jump levels

*2022-03-16*

You can’t start at any level. You must start at pre~k and I wanted to start at second grade. Wish I could get my money back. This app only works if you have a Child who is ok with starting out at level one.

**Developer response:** Hello. To enable all levels, please open the Settings dialog and select "All levels unlocked".

To contact us, please open the Settings dialog and then tap on the “Contact Us” button.

### 1/5 — Not worth my money

*2020-03-04*

I thought it was going to help them sound out the words and spell them... very disappointed

### 2/5 — No sound

*2021-03-31*

I just paid $8.99 and the app has no sound. Did anyone else experience this? How do we fix it?

**Developer response:** Hello Elizabeth, we are always happy to help. To contact us, please tap on the gear icon to open the settings dialog. Then tap on the “Contact Us” button.

### 2/5 — No Variety

*2019-04-23*

The same sentences keep repeating.

**Developer response:** Thank you Nic091 for your review! The app includes well over 100 sentences specifically constructed to include Dolch Sight Words. We are planning to add more sentences.

### 3/5 — Nice idea

*2018-10-14*

I like the practice of listening and building a sentence. I wish there was the ability to see the word lists for each level and a way to keep track of different users progress.

### 3/5 — Sight Words

*2018-04-17, version 5.1*

Great progression app for beginning to build sentence structure with the support of the app reading the words. Also a good app for short term memory work and reviewing sight words.

### 3/5 — Sight word sentence builder

*2013-11-29, version 4.0*

Great app.

### 3/5 — Organized

*2013-11-27, version 4.0*

I wish there was more organization to the sentence levels: length increased in the levels; a level for just WH-questions; a level for Interrogative Reversals. Even a way to select what sentences you want to use would be great. A way to make custom sentences would be great too! I like the clear voice of the speaker.

### 3/5 — Sight word sentence builder

*2012-06-05, version 1.0*

I give this app 3 stars, because it is a step in the right direction, but doesn't quite travel far enough. As an Occupational Therapist who works in the schools I am always on the lookout for dolch word and alphabet apps that are engaging and fun. There is a definite shortage of dolch word interactive games, so I was excited to give this one a try. This game lacks levels of difficulty beyond sentence complexity, such as an option to turn the auditory sentence prompt off and have the student construct the words into a sentence that makes sense. Or simple paragraph construction. Or requiring the words to be placed with proper spacing to reinforce word spacing during writing tasks. After the correct sentence is constructed, this app could use some exciting visual interaction to further engage the child. One good thing this app does is work on the auditory language processing and auditory memory, which would be good to track as well.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-02-15*

Fun while learning for my 5 year old

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for a great review! Having fun while learning is what our app is all about!

### 5/5 — Early writing

*2021-01-15*

I work with kindergarten and 1st grade children learning to write. This is a terrific tool for reading, assembling sentences then writing the sentences. The graphics are fun.

**Developer response:** Thank you Deb for a terrific review! It's great to hear that you find our app useful for teaching your students to write!

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2019-07-23*

This has been been helping my child since to learn to read

**Developer response:** Learning Sight Words is a great help in learning how to read. Thank you for a 5-star review!

### 5/5 — Great app for teaching sentence structuring

*2019-06-24*

Used this app extensively last year while tutoring in a 2nd grade classroom. Almost all of the students were from migrant workers families and had moved around quite a bit as a result. This app really helped them to learn not only their sight words, but also helped them learn the essentials of sentence structuring. Great job.

**Developer response:** Thank you so very much for a great review!

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2019-06-06, version 5.3*

Excellent app my daughter loves it

### 5/5 — Sight words

*2019-06-03*

Fun way to reinforce basic word skills

### 5/5 — Teacher

*2018-04-25, version 5.1*

I really like this app and the students I've given it to do also. It's building confidence with sight words as well as listening. They are smiling while playing it. Please make a harder version for grade 2 and 3 sight words for those kids still struggling with phonics and reading with the ability to track their progress. Great job though!

### 5/5 — Great learning tool

*2018-04-24*

Love it

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2018-04-09, version 5.1*

Fun sight word game!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2018-04-05*

This app not only is engaging, it is straightforward. It gives a child the opportunity to identify sight words, create meaningful sentences, and provides a wonderful example of fluent reading for the student to emulate. I love that the punctuation is included and identified. Each example provides many opportunities for practice and reinforcement. The rewards are fun as well. Great job!!
