### 3/5 — Hate the new people

*2018-08-17, version 2.1.1*

Bring back the old characters

### 3/5 — Nice demonstration but mean looking avatar

*2018-07-19*

I don’t know signing at all, so this app is very helpful. But the avatar looks angry and I wish I could change it.

### 4/5 — Great reference app

*2018-07-14*

I have a lot of deaf workers at work and this helps me learn key terms to effectively communicate!

### 2/5 — Can’t open on iPad!

*2018-01-31*

This app use to be great and is still great but only on my iPhone. No longer opens on my iPad. Stays in black screen. Please fix!

### 4/5 — Good App but ...,

*2017-12-25*

I work in a college and occasionally I have to wait until the interpreter arrives and this is a great app to initially communicate with deaf students. However, how do you use different avatars? I have been stuck with Jack ever since the upgrade and sometimes I would like to try a female interpreter. Also, I was not able to contact the developer on their site and that’s why I did it in a review. If anyone can help me, I would be appreciative.

### 2/5 — Not a good update

*2017-09-30*

Good to add more characters but should've kept Chet. Also the sign does not repeat anymore without pressing Done again and again.

### 3/5 — not so crazy about the display

*2017-09-29*

like the fact that you had more characters but replacing it was not what i expected, also the display of the words is too small. i can write that small, but to make notes that will matter letter, this device with this app was small, going even smaller i
was not a good choice, and the intro that you have now is very ghetto. you had a good product, changes are always welcome when it’s for the better... these ones, not so much

### 3/5 — Great now that it's fixed, but still wary

*2016-10-15, version 1.0.7*

Now that the bugs are fixed it's back to being the best ASL app (and for $10 it should be!). Took them forever to fix it (no updates between 2010 and 2014 and none since) so I'm always wary to update my O/S. Not sure I would recommend it based on that.

### 3/5 — Fixed

*2014-11-10, version 1.0.7*

It took a while but they finally fixed the bugs!!
Thanks

### 3/5 — I love this app, but it needs to be updated for iPhone Plus

*2014-10-28, version 1.0.5.1*

I have used this app for quite awhile, but I clearly hasn't been updated for iPhone 6 Plus as it flickers badly. Pls update.

### 2/5 — Freezing

*2014-10-24, version 1.0.5.1*

App not working with words that have more then one meaning

### 4/5 — Getting frustrated.

*2014-09-24, version 1.0.5.1*

Fantastic App that works really well to learn with but I paid so much for this app and it's declining in usability. It's still ios6 and it now doesn't even work with my iPhone 6 running iOS 8. Really needing an upgrade.

### 3/5 — Better than some

*2013-09-30, version 1.0.5.1*

It's not just SEE thats a problem, numbers are off, as well. Bummer. Definitely check with a deaf person first, or prepare to look stupid. I agree, too many words are also finger-spelled vs. signed. Please update and fix this. I will then update my review. Ive taken ASL classes up to level 3, and this covers some material thats at a level 3, but some things in this app which are in ASL level 1 (for beginners), are missing!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not ASL

*2018-05-06*

Of course, it would have been helpful if I had read the description before purchasing, HOWEVER: this is not ASL. I don’t really get the point of signing the way this app teaches. It’s confusing to me. I got this app to help my boyfriend communicate with my family better and it doesn’t really help much. Just confuses things more when there are plenty of us who can just translate for him.

### 1/5 — Used to be an amazing app

*2017-12-14*

I’ve never seen an update make an app that much worse!! Why focus so much on new characters that are difficult to see (not to mention: scary looking)?? I miss the old guy! The whole update feels like a backwards step.... the intro is so awkward ...all that needed to be improved was vocabulary and phrases.

### 1/5 — After upgrade-font's too small

*2017-10-14, version 2.0.1*

I loved this app & used it a lot before Chet was replaced by the two new characters. I have no problem with the characters, but the font is soooooo small, I can't read it! HELP!!!

I just downloaded the latest update today, 10/14/17, and I still have the font size problem. Plus, when I touch the ‘X’ to stop the signing of my word so I can choose another, it doesn’t stop!

### 1/5 — New changes- leave much to be desired.

*2017-10-06*

Deleting.

### 1/5 — Upset

*2017-09-30*

Upset that it's all changed. Liked the first virus on better.

### 1/5 — Hate the update

*2017-09-28*

Terrible lag and character choices, really ?? Marco and Alyssa?

### 1/5 — Not working

*2014-10-28, version 1.0.5.1*

Crashes frequently, don't buy

### 1/5 — Sign4 me

*2014-10-25, version 1.0.5.1*

App has crashed. Down loaded it several times. Frozen and pixelates. Can't do anything. It use to be my favorite app. Please fix it

### 1/5 — Glitchy app

*2014-09-20, version 1.0.5.1*

This app doesn't work properly. The virtual signer keeps disappearing without signing and different parts keep disappearing.

### 1/5 — No good

*2013-01-25, version 1.0.5.1*

I'm not sure who invented these signs, or who uses them, as they do not relate to any I've seen before - and I work in a signing school and use signing all day long. A waste of money and very disappointing.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Visual flow is great!

*2021-06-23*

Although I agree that the app needs more signs, it’s vocabulary isn’t bad. But, what makes this app stand out is the natural way the signing flows. They just have the physics right and having that right makes all the difference! I have a gazillion apps and this is in my top 5 list.

### 5/5 — Abso-fraggin-lutely Amazing!

*2016-01-07, version 1.0.7*

Well done gang. With the avatar in 3D, I can always get a perfect view of the hand and finger positions. I can slow down the signs so I can copy them easier, and then speed them up as I learn. It's like I have an English to ASL translator, where I can type any sentence and the avatar will show me how to sign it. Well worth the price, and then some.

### 5/5 — Great signing app

*2015-11-18*

This app is surprisingly good. it shows some facial expressions and knows to combine phrases like "not yet." I don't really use any other ASL app but this one. It would be great if they updated it more than once a year but it almost doesn't need it.

### 5/5 — No longer crashing

*2014-11-08, version 1.0.6*

I can learn very easily by typing in what sentences I want to learn. The 3D signs really help.

Some reviews suggest it crashes, I have not observe that. I think the fix for iOS 8 on November fixes those complains.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2013-07-10, version 1.0.5.1*

Just needs more vocabulary added

### 5/5 — Brilliant App

*2013-04-08, version 1.0.5.1*

Bought this app to brush up on my signs before teaching my 6 month old daughter. Bought (and wasted money) on loads before I found Sign For Me. This one is brilliant as you can search for single words or phrases. You can speed up or slow down how quickly the man does the sign and you can rotate him too. App is pricey but, in my opinion, totally worth it! I look up things everyday and would be lost without it!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2013-01-29, version 1.0.5.1*

I work as security at a collage and knew a little sign but with the help of this app I am able to communicate so much Easyer and faster

### 5/5 — Great app but...

*2012-08-18, version 1.0.5.1*

This app is fantastic and helps so much for those learning ASL. I would only hope to see some updates with more common words. It seems the guy spells a lot of my phrases out instead of using the proper signs. But I do not regret buying this app at all though! Keep up the work dev team!

### 5/5 — Great design

*2012-05-15, version 1.0.5.1*

Easy to use. I don't use it super often. When I do I have no problems with using UI.

### 5/5 — Fantastic and so easy

*2012-02-27, version 1.0.5.1*

I work with hearing impaired folks and find this app very useful and much quicker than others I've tried. The ability to move, rotate and zoom in on the graphic is so helpful. This app is far superior to others and there has never been a glitch.
