## What is Signal Path?

Signal Path is the most performant spectrum viewing app with beautiful user interface. You can record audio spectrums using microphone and replay them or open large recordings containing I/Q data.

Inspect spectrums
Spectrums can be selected using two finger drag gesture. Tapping on histogram reveals amplitude value of the selected frequency bin.

Adjust thresholds
Signal Path automatically expands amplitude threshold range when viewing spectrums. You can also set custom amplitude thresholds if needed.

Keeping file size under control
Signal Path can set a maximum file size for recording after which file is recreated.

Can open wav files and save recorded audio as wav

Supported interleaved raw I/Q data formats
Float, int8, int16, int32, uInt8, uInt16, and uInt32

Fast Fourier transform lengths
256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192

Window functions
Rectangular, Blackman, Hamming, and Hann

## Key features

- Record audio spectrums
- Inspect spectrums with two-finger drag
- Adjust amplitude thresholds
- Manage recording file size
- Open and save WAV files

### 3/5 — Fair Enough

*2024-05-30*

The app in itself is fair enough but there are limitations. First nowhere to be found is help, maybe I’m missing something but I searched and searched to no avail.

Second is recording playback. I can record fine but when I try to playback all I get is about a fraction of a second of sound. Again, am I missing something?

No instructions anywhere on learning the app’s functions? Again, again, am I missing something?

Need help..

### 3/5 — works well enough, but has some inconveniences

*2024-05-11*

I wanted to use this app to find the source of a high-pitched whine in my apartment, but it doesn't let you scroll left/right while recording, so I couldn't see the higher frequencies unless I stopped recording. I was able to figure it out, but it was inconvenient...

It's also not obvious to me how you select a time range in the graph; it seems to be related to tapping with two fingers, but I can't do it reliably.

Anyway, time to move the noisy thing to a different room :p thanks for the app

### 5/5 — Immensely helpful!

*2024-04-21*

Tried my hand at doing the Peacekeeper Easter Egg for Battlefield 1 on PS4 and had no luck decoding it by ear, so after seeing the video on the page for this app and what looked like Morse Code in the spectrogram (I know it’s just the music but I was getting desperate) I bought this and there it was, clear as day! Couldn’t have gotten An Escalation, An Omen and soon A Beginning without it. Worth every penny just for that alone, but UI and the ability to save recordings into Files is very helpful.

### 1/5 — Bull crap

*2023-05-20*

Nothing but a file folder ap doesn’t work at all should get my money back do not buy

**Developer response:** Signal Path is a file based app for recording and reading data from files. New recordings can be created by tapping on the + button in the file selection/creation view.

### 1/5 — Crashes when creating a new audio recording

*2018-11-06*

Really promising app, unfortunately it crashes when you try to create a new audio recording from the menu. A fix would be greatly appreciated for a $9 app!

**Developer response:** Thank you for reporting it and I am sorry for encountering this. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.

### 1/5 — Can’t open pre-recorded files

*2018-03-18*

Wasn’t clear from the description (since it said "import from any source") but the app won’t import a pre-recorded file. There is no help file, nor documentation. Tried .wav, mp3, and m4p without luck.

**Developer response:** It does support wav files in recent versions. The description was not as clear as it should have been.
