## What is Signal?

Signal is a private behavioral control system for urge awareness, interruption, and redirection. It is not a porn blocker, not a surveillance tool, and not a shame-based streak app.

THE 10-MINUTE PROTOCOL
When an urge hits, Signal gives you a timed intervention: name the cue, choose an action, move your body, then reflect. Complete the protocol, log what helped, and build your personal pattern map over time.

HOW IT WORKS
• SOS Timer — 5 or 10-minute intervention with haptic feedback
• Check-Ins — Classify your current state by naming your mood, trigger, and escalation cues
• Slip Review — If the sequence crossed a line, review it without a shame spiral. No binge logic.
• Pattern Map — See your top triggers, danger windows, emotion-trigger pairs, and which redirect actions actually lower your intensity
• Identity Anchoring — Remember who you are becoming and what this protects

PRIVACY FIRST
Signal has no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, and no screenshots. Your check-ins, SOS sessions, and slip reviews are stored only on your device. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from the Privacy screen.

App Lock keeps Signal private with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.

WHAT MAKES SIGNAL DIFFERENT
Most competitors rely on imperfect content blockers, surveillance screenshots, or shame-driven streaks. Signal addresses the gap they miss: the 10-minute window between urge and action where a simple interruption is the most effective intervention.

• No fake blocker promises
• No default accountability partners
• No surveillance screenshots
• No aggressive paywalls on panic tools
• SOS and all core tools are free, permanently

BUILT FOR ADULTS
Signal is rated 18+ and designed for adults who want to change a behavioral pattern with dignity, structure, and privacy.

WHAT'S INCLUDED (FREE)
• SOS 5/10-minute timer
• Check-ins with mood, trigger, and cue classification
• Slip review with recovery stance
• Pattern map with trigger profiles and danger windows
• Identity anchoring
• App Lock (Face ID / Touch ID)
• Full data export and delete

Signal does not promise perfect blocking. It increases awareness, adds a 10-minute interruption, and helps you redirect before the loop becomes automatic.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-09

Your history now moves with you.

**IMPORT**
Restore a previous Signal export when setting up a new device. Go to **Privacy → Local Data → Import from Signal Export**.
- **Merge** keeps your existing data and adds anything new.
- **Replace** starts fresh using the imported file.

**LOCK SCREEN SOS**
The SOS widget is now available on the Lock Screen, so you can start a 10-minute interruption without opening the app first.

**FIXES**
- Pauses now count toward your Days Structured, just like check-ins and protocols.
- Fixed an issue where saving a protocol could occasionally record the same session twice.
- Check-in results now clear automatically after editing your responses, preventing outdated results from being shown.
- Exports on iPhone are now shared as proper `.json` files instead of plain text.
- Signal now alerts you if your data cannot be saved to your device instead of failing silently.

**POLISH**
- Running timers now have smoother animations, and the Zone card transitions more naturally between states. Both respect **Reduce Motion**.
- Larger tap targets throughout the app improve accessibility.
- The story behind Signal is now easier to discover.

As always, everything stays on your device. No accounts. No trackers. No analytics.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-08

New in Signal 1.0.2:

• Set up your personalized 10-minute reset protocol during onboarding.
• Choose your preferred cues and redirect actions for when an urge arises.
• Launch your protocol directly after onboarding and save your default SOS timer.
• Improved stability and iOS compatibility for a smoother experience.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-06-29

This update improves onboarding copy and first-run setup only. Signal remains local-first: no backend, no accounts, no analytics,
and no data collection. SOS and all core urge-interruption tools remain free.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-06-22
