## What is SignPrep?

SignPrep is the essential companion for sign language interpreters. It supports your workflow before, during, and after every assignment, helping you prepare, coordinate, reflect, and care for your well-being.

ASSIGNMENTS
Import assignments from work calendars with smart filtering, or add them manually. View countdowns, locations, directions, preparation progress, notes, and AI briefings in one organised workspace.

PREPARATION
Prepare with editable checklists, research tools, reviewed web searches, key terms, glossary suggestions, notes, resources, and additional context for AI. With your permission, SignPrep can also use Calendar Notes as relevant preparation context.

AI BRIEFINGS
Generate a concise briefing for any upcoming or ongoing assignment. Briefings highlight useful context, preparation prompts, key considerations, and areas to research.

ONGOING ASSIGNMENT
A focused Live Session page designed to stay open throughout an assignment. See progress, timing state, the active interpreter, next swap, and time remaining. Ambient Mode provides a calm, full-screen view for coordinating swaps without breaking focus.

SWAP TIMER & SWAP CLOCK
Use Swap Timer for structured intervals with Running, Swap Soon, and Swap Now phases, or Swap Clock for flexible turn-taking based on the actual time. Both support A/B interpreter roles, clear swap actions, and glanceable Ambient Mode layouts.

APPLE WATCH
View assignments and timing information on your wrist. Start or control swap timing from either device and keep both in sync. Complications and Smart Stack cards show what is next or ongoing.

WIDGETS, LIVE ACTIVITIES & CONTROLS
Widgets show upcoming assignments, countdowns, and CPD progress. One-tap widgets support New Sign, Reflect, and Log CPD. Live Activities and Dynamic Island keep timing information visible during assignments.

SIRI & SHORTCUTS
Ask about your next assignment, your day, or your swap timer. Start, pause, stop, mute, or adjust timing; open Ambient Mode; log CPD; add a sign; or capture a reflection hands-free.

ON-DEVICE AI
Apple Foundation Models generate briefings, research, vocabulary suggestions, and preparation checklists tailored to each assignment. Processing happens on your device and is not sent to SignPrep servers. AI output supports, rather than replaces, your professional judgement and trusted sources.

SIGN GLOSSARY
Build a searchable video library of signs. Record clips, tag entries by domain and sign language, review in slow motion, share entries, or export and import your glossary as a SignPrep package. Supports SgSL, ASL, BSL, Auslan, NZSL, and more.

DC-S REFLECTIONS
Use structured Demand-Control Schema prompts for environmental, interpersonal, paralinguistic, and intrapersonal demands. Track streaks, flag entries for mentor discussions, and export reflections as PDF or CSV.

CPD TRACKING
Log professional development hours by activity type. Use country-specific defaults for RID, NRCPD, and NAATI, or turn CPD off. Set a target and renewal period, then track progress through the app, widgets, Apple Watch, and alerts.

SELF-CARE
Log mood, fatigue, and cognitive load. View trends, follow guided breathing and interpreter-specific stretches, and receive suggestions that support recovery and readiness.

PRIVACY & SECURITY
Protect local professional data with App Lock, Face ID and Touch ID support, protected app-switcher previews, local access logging, and an option to exclude SignPrep data from iCloud backups. Calendar Notes are excluded from AI preparation unless you enable them.

Thanks for using SignPrep! This update introduces a new focus on privacy and security, with App Lock, Face ID and Touch ID support, protected app-switcher previews, local access logging, automatic redaction of sensitive details in user-provided context, and an option to exclude SignPrep data from iCloud backups. Assignment sync is now smarter and less disruptive, with better duplicate prevention, a new Sync Upcoming Assignments option in Settings, and more reliable open assignment pages during calendar refreshes. Onboarding has also been refreshed with clearer setup steps for calendars, notifications, privacy, and optional App Lock. There are also improvements to Apple Watch sync, glossary import and export, reflection PDF exports, AI suggestions, accessibility, visual polish, performance, and overall reliability.

Thanks for using SignPrep! This update introduces Ongoing Assignment, a focused live-session page designed to stay open and useful right through an assignment. Swap Timer now has a calmer, more glanceable Ambient Mode, clearer A/B interpreter states, and more thoughtful swap cues. This update also adds Swap Clock, a flexible timing mode that follows the actual clock and lets you record each swap as it happens. There are also improvements to Apple Watch sync, widgets, Live Activities, Self-Care suggestions, AI output quality, accessibility, Reduce Motion support, and overall reliability.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-04-28

Thanks for using SignPrep. This update brings smarter AI, deeper Siri features, and a smoother day-to-day feel. You can now tap Add More Context on any assignment to describe the topics, relationships, or goals. SignPrep will use what you wrote to generate more accurate preparation items, research, and keywords. Briefings, monthly summaries, topic research, and post-reflection encouragement now appear word by word as they're being written, and your AI work is remembered across calendar refreshes so you don't have to regenerate it. Siri now learns when you usually open SignPrep and which shortcuts you use most, so the right thing surfaces at the right time. You can also search for any assignment, glossary entry, reflection, or CPD log entry straight from Spotlight Search. The swap timer now uses Interpreter A and Interpreter B instead of Left and Right. Settings has a refreshed Siri & Shortcuts page and a new option to reset AI suggestions if they ever feel stale. Everything stays private and on-device.
