However I believe as if the app could be updated a little bit. It is a little challenging to access the videos on my phone, and the format of the app doesn’t fit my phone screen. Although this app does have great signing and great information for parents and little ones. I love the links to Dr. Etel Leit’s YouTube videos and personal information as well. The app has great images and colors meant for children and I think it is very entertaining for little ones as well. I purchased a set of songs, downloaded then, and took my ipad to class a few days later. My daughter and I has been watching the videos and loved them so I was excited to see how the class felt. I hooked the ipad up to the tv and proceeded to play a song. When I hit "play" a screen popped up and said I needed an internet connection. I was bummed because I had downloaded all the songs a few days prior. When I got home I had to download them again. For whatever reason i have to download them all over again every single time I go to class. So I have to get up earlier just to download them all. Am I mistaken or shouldn't it stay there once it's downloaded? The songs are not set to music so it is not that helpful to learn the song. The look is outdated with clip art graphics. I found it hard to navigate the app especially to find the free content vs the bundle for purchase. I work with non-verbal children, some of them really love music, when I use this app they pay attention because they can see it and hear it...that is when it works. If I'm in a hurry before I leave my house I don't have the time to reload the songs and even if I did have time to reload the songs it is a pain in the butt, I have other things to besides load all the songs every time I think I may want to use them. They may have thought they solved the problem by adding the choice to download the songs versus direct stream, that isn't good either, if you don't have Internet connection you can't use what you have paid for already. Once again, why should I have to download each song and each dictionary individually, each time I want to use this, it is time consuming...did that sound redundant? Well maybe that is a small taste of what it feels like to use this app. Please fix this! ### 1/5 — Crashes instantly on iPad *2013-02-21, version 2.0.1* Huge waste of money. My uncle recently had his first child, and I had recently learned about the benefits of raising multilingual children in an Infant Development class. Thus, I suggested that he expose his child to different languages to boost the amount of vocabulary and learning benefits for this child. The class also discussed the benefits of teaching infants sign language while they are pre-verbal. Thus, I gifted them this app and they said it has been amazing. Jackson (their son) has been able to communicate his needs with us through simple signs, such as “Play” and “I Love You”. It’s such a delight to sign to him “I love you” and have him sign it back. SignShine utilizes popular children's songs with catchy medleys and supplements them with a child-friendly videos teaching them the basic ASL.
