The start/stop/reset controls aren't the smoothest, but this app does everything it says it does, and does it reliably! The speakers do not all have the same amount of speaking time, so it needs to be easy for me to set. The time range is generally 5-30 minutes at the same event. I want the timer to be easy for the speaker to see without being obvious to the audience. It needs to be large with an obvious timeout indicator. I want a countdown to show remaining time, followed by a countup so the speaker knows how much extra time they'ne used. One of the things I've done before almost every one of these events has been to find a timer I like more than the others I've used. Sometimes, I've tried more than one. I've tried about a dozen. I needed a timer for an event last October. One of the ones I got was this application. It did everything I wanted it to do. Some of the speakers thanked me for having such a good timer. I was working on an event yesterday. This was the first time I did not have to find a timer I liked more than others. The timer was just as easy to use and unobtrusive as it was the first time. You don't seem to be able to correct wrong settings. There also doesn't seem robe any useful help. Needs lots of work to be user friendly and accurate. I also use it from time to time on my own just to keep on track. One especially valuable design choice by the app maker is that the timer keeps counting after the designated countdown period has expired but it displays in red and counts "up" in the negative direction (e.g. minus 30 second, minus 31 seconds, etc). This is A great feature because sometimes if I am writing or doing other creative type work it can be very important to allow the task to complete on its own time scale but also very important to maintain and a proportional sense of the overall envelope of time available for the working session and overall project. You can be all too easy to get caught up in a small but interesting aspect of the project only to find two little time remains to complete the overall project at the same high level of quality and detail… But not when you can glance up and see exactly how much extra time has elapsed since the designated original direction you yourself allotted for whatever task or activity you set the timer for in the first place.
