### 3/5 — derivative

*2026-06-17, version 1.14*

Some of the puzzles I think were WAY too hard, but they were generally interesting. It was really annoying having to click sometimes three to four times just to reach a place already visible. The story itself was boring, there was no growth and plays into annoyingly repeated story arcs: white saviour, devious asian woman who seduces the saviour in order to use him and “cursed” treasure that kills everyone who touches it… there are better point and click puzzle games out there which are free.

### 3/5 — Great art, lackluster story and puzzles

*2026-04-25, version 1.14*

I enjoyed Sand, but Silk was a bit of a slog. The puzzles are all pretty basic and similar, and the play is limited (meaning not a lot of moving around to figure things out, limited clickable areas). The best thing is the clean artwork and the sound design. The storyline is corny and outdated, with a square-jawed white man visiting a madam in China and taking on a mysterious young woman sidekick in an exotic land. Gave weird regressive vibes that detracted from the gameplay. There are some fun possibilities with the use of maps and potions and cool locations, so I hope the developers push more in that direction and have more fun with the characters rather than going for crusty tales of colonial-style intrigue. The game definitely looks great.

### 4/5 — Great but with issues

*2026-03-14, version 1.14*

Firstly this game has a really good plot, the visuals seem quite pretty and non ai (which I’m thankful for) and the puzzles are intriguing and they actually make you think which i haven’t experienced with a puzzle game for a while :). My main issue is that I was stuck on a level for a good amount of time and I tried to find any type of walkthrough or guide on the internet as the instructions from the game weren’t really helpful for that level and the walkthrough was only for levels 1-6 and thats it! so I tried to contact the game developer who was quite helpful and supportive with the issue, but by that point my game started bugging/ freezing and I had to reset all my progress :(. Luckily that fixed the bugs but I was disheartened nonetheless. so

!!!!LEVEL HELP +SPOILER!!!!

so if your stuck in the level which needs you to collect the scrolls for the potion/concoction the last scroll is on the middle table on the upper right part of the screen where two papers are hanging one of the papers is the scroll :)

### 3/5 — Ok puzzles but story was lacking

*2025-11-10, version 1.14*

I love these types of games generally but the story was kind of annoying. Didn’t really make sense except in an extremely colonial way. If you just want the puzzles it’s fun but not as good as other story and puzzle point-and-clicks out there that are the whole package. Not really worth the cost to me. If the clueless British man charging in to be the hero in a random country he claims to know a lot about but doesn’t seem to at all angle was more tongue in cheek I’d have enjoyed it but it just didn’t really even make the story make sense the way it was. Ok but disappointing.

### 3/5 — I’m curious

*2025-09-15, version 1.14*

Does your game use AI art?

### 4/5 — Water room stuck, have hammer and black pearl. Can’t open panel above door.

*2025-07-20, version 1.14*

Don’t see where the flower petals are can’t press correct order of buttons. Frustrating

### 4/5 — Great but….

*2025-07-11, version 1.14*

Really enjoying this but now I am stuck! The map fragments in the cube (only 3 in the easy option) what am I supposed to do with them?

### 4/5 — Silk- A Leo Parker Advenure

*2025-05-21*

Игра классная, жаль платная, не все могут заплатить, а так молодцы, редко встречаются хорошие игры

### 3/5 — Puzzles are fine, but moral of the story

*2025-03-24, version 1.14*

The game’s puzzles and atmosphere are well-designed, but the story follows a tired and somewhat arrogant trope: a Western scholar unravels an Eastern mystery, while the local figures are either obstacles or doomed by their own greed. The whole “foreign hero deciphering an ancient Eastern secret” setup feels outdated and condescending. While the game doesn’t aim for historical accuracy, this kind of storytelling still leaves an uncomfortable aftertaste. If you’re just here for the puzzles, it’s enjoyable—but the narrative framing might not sit well with everyone.

### 5/5 — I love this game but a few glitches !

*2025-03-09, version 1.14*

This game is immersive and engaging, I love the unique puzzles that range from difficult to easy (and include an easy mode for those who might struggle on a few). However, there have been a few times I click on objects and the game doesn’t register my clicks on an iPhone screen, I have another friend who plays the game and she agreed that a few locations have a really hard time being picked up when playing on her phone, but she has mentioned that it is easier on her tablet! So maybe play on a tablet if you can :)

I don’t know if this one is a glitch or if I’m just missing something but at the “drowning” scene where the metal knights are. I uncovered the petal code, tried every combinations I could think of based on the petals, but the puzzle still isn’t cracked. No “easy mode” is available for me at this scene which is the first time it hasn’t been available for a puzzle. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

### 5/5 — Incredible!

*2025-02-11, version 1.12*

Ok so I was reading the other reviews before writing mine. And saw the dev response on one of the reviews.

This developer is a mum with a toddler, is an artist and had her husband pose for her drawings! Add on top of that creativity…lots of fun puzzles, simple yet engaging storyline, out-of-the-box (yet logical) challenges…for only $1.99! It can’t get any better than that!

Loved the background music as it fit the traditional Asian style.

The ONLY thing that imho could be improved is having faster click-response times? There’s a delay after clicking an area …so sometimes it seems as if nothing is happening so would click again…causing a mess of clicks. Not sure if it’s possible to address this. But it’s not a deal breaker either.

There aren’t a lot of these kinds of adventure games in the App Store. Prob because they require a great deal of time, intelligence and talent! It’s also so refreshing to find a game that isn’t steeped in witchcraft and occult/demonic themes (like The Cube series…yuck).

So will definitely be looking forward to her next game!

Thank you!🙏🏻

### 4/5 — confused

*2025-02-10, version 1.12*

I really enjoy the game so far and love the puzzles but i am really confused on the part where i have to knock on the door i have tried doing all of the gaps inbetween the wall cracks but i still cant get it

### 4/5 — Love the Game but Needs a Auto Dialogue Toggle

*2025-02-07, version 1.12*

During some of the scenes (mainly at the end) the game the dialogue auto proceeded/disappeared too quickly with no clear way to pause or go back leading to missed content. If you happened look away from the screen for a sec because you were distracted by something irl, preferred to read out loud (such as trying to read the game during a stream or for YouTube), or just happen to be a slow reader or (a slow reader in English) you’re just kinda out of luck and miss some dialogue from time to time. A simple autodialogue toggle would solve this problem and allow users to switch from the current auto dialogue system to one where users can manually dictate their pacing by clicking the screen when they are ready to proceed to the next line of text. The game is amazing but really needs this feature.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ai slop

*2025-08-13, version 1.14*

Come on bro

### 1/5 — lame

*2025-07-24, version 1.14*

as a chinese speaker i can tell at a glance that the scenes are ai generated, and i really hate that. also why a game like this dont support for Chinese?! and the transitions between scenes are soooooo laggy, overall the experience just didn’t convince me to buy the full version. good tho, cuz i can already imagine how much this game will be like a western fantasy version of China

### 1/5 — Разводилово

*2025-06-08*

После почти минут игры заставляет купить полную версию. Нам такое не надо

### 1/5 — No disclosure of AI art usage

*2025-05-14, version 1.14*

I enjoyed the puzzles, but it is very obvious that the game uses AI art for the majority of the scenes. It’s a downgrade from the previous game and extremely misleading to describe the art in the game as hand drawn.

### 1/5 — Boring

*2025-04-07, version 1.14*

Not challenging enough

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2025-04-03, version 1.14*

The game presents itself as free but ONLY allows you to play one part of a level and then requires payment.

### 1/5 — Game glitch need help

*2024-12-28, version 1.12*

In the level where we need the manhole key the game hint keeps saying it’s in my inventory and to use it but it’s not I cannot find the manhole key and the glitch thinks I have it I am unable to move forward in the game please fix or refund me

### 1/5 — Unknown

*2024-10-18*

Have you communication with the name you use as who?

**Developer response:** Sorry, what do you mean?

### 1/5 — Little care taken over facts

*2024-10-18, version 1.05*

Didn’t get far. Supposed to be set in 1917.

WW1 was in full flow and there were hardly any students.

The opening letter has an anachronistic postcode. These were gradually introduced in the UK in the current form between 1966 and 1974. Definitely not around in 1917!

Peking, not Beijing, was the Anglicised version of the Chinese capital at the time. The city wasn’t officially known as Beijing until 1986.

### 2/5 — Bug Issue

*2025-10-21, version 1.14*

In the library, having done all the book puzzles and picked up the Sir Francis’ boom about Imperial palaces, the game has frozen. Nothing I do can unfreeze and the game is stuck at the scene where the books are in size order. Please fix this bug.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Pleasant surprise

*2026-06-29, version 1.14*

Great little puzzler point and click! Once I started I couldn’t put it down until I finished it (and its sister game- ‘Sand’) a few hours later… puzzles were the perfect amount of challenging; rarely too easy, very occasionally too difficult but the unlimited progressive tips provided gave ample assistance to get past any hurdles and continue gameplay. If only more games in this genre were so well thought out, well written and well executed! Impressive work devs! Much appreciated :-)

### 5/5 — Perfectly balanced, great game

*2026-02-27, version 1.14*

I’ll just list what I love

1. They give you a great experience before asking for basically nothing for the full game

2. The art is amazing

3. The puzzles are perfectly balanced. Not too easy and not too hard. It’s great.

4. The story is engaging and the cut scenes give you a perfect amount of story and info, no fluff.

Great game. I wish I found it sooner. Great work

### 5/5 — Atmospheric story and great puzzles

*2025-12-09, version 1.14*

I loved the orientalness of this game with its music and story and puzzles

### 5/5 — Indiana Jones adventure..

*2025-11-18, version 1.14*

I enjoyed this..It’s lengthy enough..took me a couple days to finish..The storyline was great and easy to follow..Puzzles aplenty..; with an easy version, instead of skip option.
..It reminded me of an Indiana jones story line..

### 5/5 — loved it overall!

*2025-10-11, version 1.14*

i really enjoyed this game! i just loved knowing that the art was hand drawn and its graphic novel style — seriously that's so impressive in and of itself. as far as gameplay, i was hooked from start to finish. the puzzles were challenging enough and i loved the wide variety of them which made it hard to put down. i finished it in a few hours. as far as the story, it was engaging, though i found the white guy in china/white savior setup both cliché and problematic. there were also several typos that were annoying when reading. i would love the option to go back to re-read if you accidentally tap and miss some of the story (which i did several times).

all that said, and despite the issues i had, this was a very enjoyable game that i would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good puzzle or escape game. really hoping another installment in this series is in the works!

### 5/5 — Only 2 dollars?! That's unfair

*2025-09-24, version 1.14*

I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the backstory of this game. It should be worth more than two dollars!
To the game's developer, please keep making games and never stop.

### 5/5 — Beautifully Crafted

*2025-05-03, version 1.14*

For $1.99 this might be my best game purchase EVER!!! I usually don’t care to review stuff but the music and ambiance mixed with the really challenging puzzles made it super fun and 100% worth it. The lore in Chinese and the specific Chinese puzzles (like rearranging the pictures) are wonderful and reminded me of the puzzles I’ve seen on my trip to China as a kid

### 5/5 — Excellent game, plus support!

*2025-04-20, version 1.14*

Great puzzles! Plus an interesting story. This is a great game, great atmosphere. I really am enjoying it. I had to opt for only one of the puzzles to take the easy solution. However I tripped over a bug in the game and got stuck in one of the first rooms. I wrote a note to the developers, they responded right away. They'd never heard of the bug I found but sent a fixed version as soon as Apple approved the fix. This is the fastest fix I've ever gotten on a program!

### 5/5 — Want More From This Developer!

*2025-04-01, version 1.14*

I haven’t finished the game yet, but I have spent multiple hours playing it at this point. I think it’s the best puzzle game I’ve found for iOS. It’s atmospheric, stylish, and mysterious, but not creepy or dark, which I love. It feels like a movie from the forties. The writing is excellent, which is often neglected in these kinds of games. I like that you can make a single puzzle easier, instead of changing the difficulty of the whole game. Would definitely recommend!

### 5/5 — More Leo Parker please!

*2025-03-23, version 1.14*

I really enjoyed Sand, so I had high expectations for Silk - and it exceeded those expectations. I love the puzzles and the art style, and the ending was way better than Sand. Although I had to opt for Easy Mode on a couple of the puzzles just to avoid getting tediously stuck, I had great fun tracking down the imperial treasure and was impressed by the moral of the story.

One thing this game (as well as Sand) could use is a Chapter Select option once a game is complete, but that’s not enough to lower my five-star rating. Hardly anybody makes games like Silk anymore, and I loved it!
