## What is Silo?

Silo is a private, offline-first money tracker. No cloud, no ads, no bank logins, no account required — everything stays on your device.

Open the app and instantly see what's safe to spend today, your spending pace, and a forecast of your balance for the weeks ahead.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Safe-to-spend, daily — know what's free to spend, with over-pace warnings and a run-out-date prediction
• Budget your way — a simple 50/30/20 split or detailed per-category caps with alerts; move funds between caps in a tap
• Analytics — see where your money goes: monthly spend, income, savings rate, and multi-month trends
• Accounts & net worth — cash, cards, loans and investments unified into one net worth, with history built from your own ledger
• Bills, debts & splits — bills, who owes whom, split bills, installments and loans in one place
• Recurring that logs itself — subscriptions and salaries auto-log (or ask first); Silo even surfaces recurring charges hiding in your history
• Forecast & calendar — a day-by-day view of money in, out, and transfers
• Goals & wishlist — save toward what matters and plan the big buys
• Trips & multi-currency — budget every trip and spend in the local currency, unified in your home currency
• Fast logging — log from a Home Screen widget, Back Tap, or scan a receipt total; Silo recognizes merchants and suggests the category
• Private by design — Face ID lock, hide-amounts glance, and fully offline

Silo is for people who want clarity over their money without handing their data to anyone.

Not a bank. Silo is a personal ledger you keep yourself — no bank connections, transfers, lending, trading, or financial advice.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-05

Bank alerts (Beta) just got smarter
• Offers, cashback promos and announcements are skipped, so only real money movements are logged.
• Logged something that wasn't a transaction? Open it and tap "This wasn't a transaction", and Silo ignores messages like it from then on. Manage what's ignored in Settings → Bank notifications.
• Undo right after an alert logs something.
• Set it up in one tap with the ready-made automation in Settings → Bank notifications.
• "Cashed in" and "cashed out" alerts are recognised, and amounts are read more reliably.

Also new
• A new Other category for shops Silo hasn't seen before, counted with your Wants until you file it.
• Add a photo to a wishlist item.
• Repeating bills you restore from Recently Deleted, or whose account you un-archive, pick up from today.
• With app lock on, notifications inside Silo wait until you unlock.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-01

Silo 1.3 is the biggest update yet.

• A new look: every screen redrawn, lighter and clearer, with Apple's Liquid Glass tab bar on iOS 26.
• Bills has its own tab, and the + floats just above the tab bar.
• All transactions: filter by type, category, tag and date range, tick rows to delete several at once (with Undo), and it opens faster.
• Copy to iCloud: restore your records on a new iPhone or after reinstalling.
• Log from your bank's alerts (Beta, iOS 27): a notification from your bank or e-wallet can log the payment by itself, read on your iPhone.
• Save a fixed amount every month in Budgets, before Needs and Wants.
• Split a bill with a senior or PWD discount given to the right person.
• Long receipts in up to four parts, read as one, and Apple Intelligence as an optional checker (Beta).
• Smarter recognition of words to shows the logo.
• Each wish has its own page, and edit and delete are icons throughout.
• A gentle reminder at 8:00 PM on days you haven't logged anything.
• Alerts and widgets keep up with the date; a tighter app lock; many fixes.

As always, everything stays on your iPhone.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-25

- Smarter receipt scanning. Scan with the camera or pick a photo you already took. Silo reads the items, the total, and discounts like VAT, PWD, senior and service charge, so the receipt adds up.
- Split a receipt by person. Assign each item to whoever had it. You can nudge friends for what they still owe.
- Budget by the week or the day, and carry over what's left.
- New widgets: a dashboard, Quick Add and lock-screen widgets.
- Apple Pay auto-log, set up in one tap on iOS 27.
- Search from Home. Find a store, a receipt item, a category or an amount.
- Weekly safety copies of your data, kept on your phone.
- Money in more shapes: installments, loans, refunds, foreign-currency accounts, and statement export to PDF or CSV.
Fixes, including a crash when adding a debt.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-23

Silo 1.1 is a big one.

FIXED
• Add debt no longer crashes.

NEW
• Apple Pay logging — tap to pay and the expense logs itself, through a Wallet automation you set up once in Settings.
• Alerts on your phone — bills, card payments, budgets and reminders, at the time of day you pick.
• Smarter receipt scanning — scans read the line items, so a receipt becomes an itemised expense you can split.
• Accounts in other currencies — keep a dollar or yen account in its own currency, with its value in yours beside it.
• Statements you can export — save any account as a PDF or spreadsheet for any date range.

BETTER
• Analytics — two rings show where your money went and where it came from, by category or by account. Tap any slice. Trends run from a week to a year.
• Installments work the way your bank does them: the full amount is held against your credit limit, billed month by month, and counted as spending month by month.
• Refunds give their budget the room back, and a friend's share of a split bill can land straight in your account.
• Loans end when the bank says — enter your instalment and how many are left.
• Amounts and trip currencies now follow the currency you chose, wherever you are.
