### 3/5 — Improvements needed!

*2026-07-20*

A good app for learning Dari but the app is glitchy despite paying for a premium subscription. Understandable as it’s a new app but lots of improvement is needed.

Some of the audio does not match up and you are forced to do lessons in order, you cannot choose what you want to learn. The flashcards also do not appear for me.

### 3/5 — screen freezes

*2026-07-17*

it freezes

### 2/5 — I really wanted to like it 💔

*2026-07-13*

Almost unusable, tried to click into Syrian Arabic but the AI voice started speaking a completely different language

### 2/5 — Audio doesn’t match

*2026-07-10*

Was excited to learn Punjabi but some of the audio is a different language than Punjabi and the pronunciations don’t help you at all as they are in an American accent and incorrect

### 4/5 — refreshed my progress

*2026-06-29*

I really love the app, its hard to find these languages in other similar apps. But, I spent over an hour on the app for it to refresh and all my progress to be gone forcing me to restart :(

### 2/5 — Great intention but too many glitches

*2026-06-28*

I started the Pashto lessons. Most of the audio doesn’t match the word in the lesson. Some of the written Pashto did not match the transliteration. The lesson review quizzes ask things that weren’t taught in the lesson. This app can be really great with the right fixes.

### 2/5 — Won’t let me cancel

*2026-06-28*

I have been trying to cancel the free-trial from the get go and continuously would get an error message. I’m happy there is an app for these languages but just because of the technical issues I wouldn’t recommend.

**Developer response:** Hi there,

I'm so sorry you are having issues with canceling.

### 2/5 — Not for Persian

*2026-06-27*

Not accuracy audio for question for Persian.

### 2/5 — Good app but there are flaws

*2026-06-19*

I love that there is finally an app out there covering South Asian dialects, as someone who can understand Punjabi but speak very little this could be something to help my confidence in speaking! However I got the 3 day trial and already on day 1 I’m noticing that there are flaws. when going through the tests the speaking doesn’t make sense and I even heard it speak in a different language at one point! There’s are of clean to do bit after that this app would be excellent!

### 2/5 — Needs improvement

*2026-06-08*

A lot of the voicing for questions don’t work, don’t let you repeat to hear a question again. The narrator will say a “Red is laal” but the answer choice is not there

### 3/5 — Great concept but app needs to be updated and ensure it’s working

*2026-06-06*

Love the idea, Been trying to find somewhere for over 3 years to learn one of the languages offered on your app but the audio doesn’t work which is a bummer. I really thought i’d be able to start learning and be able to speak the language but until audio is fixed it’s not possible to learn anything

### 2/5 — Improvements

*2026-06-02*

I like This app a lot and have been looking for something like this for years but I couldn’t find it. Unfortunately the app has some problems. When I close the app and I go back on it it resets all my progress and makes me restart from beginner level 1 again. Also I picked the premium option so I could learn Pashto and Dari but when I tried to switch to learn Dari the app wouldn’t allow me.

### 2/5 — good idea, needs work

*2026-05-31*

I really wanted to like this, since I’ve been hoping to learn some Nepali because many of my patients are from this region. However, the app doesn’t work well for this language, and I suspect it doesn’t work well for anything but Dari. The in-app text refers to the language being learned as “Dari” no matter what you are learning, and the other languages added seem to be added slapdash to fill out the app. If you wanted to make a Dari learning app, just do it. Adding other languages via AI without the same level of care isn’t the way to go. The app also reverted my home screen to Dari after I looked at other tabs even though I was learning Nepali, and I struggled to change it back.

The third lesson offered me 10 new words but only reviewed 6 of them during the lesson.

The flashcard feature wasn’t working either, it had collected no flashcards after 3 lessons. The advertised translate feature also only works for Dari and Pashto.

I am also dubious of the text pronunciation, as often it sounded very American, and sometimes it didn’t work at all.

The intake quiz doesn’t seem to work, the screen at the end said “15 minutes” when I had answered 10, and when I looked at my user info it said I was learning for “partner/inlaws” when that isn’t what I answered. I doubt this quiz influences your learning experience at all.

I also don’t get the sense that it is adaptive at all, despite claiming “AI power”.

I will stress again that this is a GOOD IDEA. I admire the mission, and would love to use an app like this someday that works. However, it isn’t ready yet, and the other listed languages that aren’t the primary focus of the creator need genuine investment, not just AI filling. It isn’t functional enough to use if it was free, and certainly not enough for paid use. I would come back eventually if it was a more developed app.

### 2/5 — Please fix

*2026-05-30*

Hi this is a great concept for an app. I would absolutely pay for this. Been asking dualingo for urdu / pashtu / punjabi for years so this is absolutely perfect! Unfortunately, after using the 3 day trial, I’m realising this app doesn’t actually work.

The audio doesn’t work, the “test your level” part doesn’t work, it skips straight to the beginner level. Then I cant skip the beginner levels, I have to actually go through each level. Also closed the app, went back the next day and it reset to the first level which was annoying.

Alot to improve! Please fix and let me know so I can come back and actually learn my language lol. Looking forward to this app reaching its potential!!

### 3/5 — Has some technical glitches to fix

*2026-05-27*

The audio does not work on the app.

### 1/5 — Makes you pay just to learn

*2026-08-25*

I wanted to learn the languages of my central Asian ancestors but right after signing up they take you to a page forcing you to either pay 200 dollars a year for a basic language learning thing or log out

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-07-24*

Money was taken out of my account directly by the app developer, not Apple, before my free trial was even up. I’ve tried emailing using the email on the website but it shows up as undeliverable.

### 1/5 — Kept Crashing

*2026-07-03*

I didn’t even get to USE it. Didn’t get the past the question stage where it asks where you’re at. Kept crashing me out. I deleted and reinstalled over and over but still never worked.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2026-07-02*

I first heard about this through social media and thought it would be amazing as it didn’t focus on mainstream languages, but then I found out this app forces one to pay after doing a self-assessment on what your level is within that language. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP!

### 1/5 — Vibecoded Pricey App

*2026-07-02*

Wasted 5 mins doing the assessment just to find out it’s paid.

Like I’m down to pay any amount, but it’s obviously AI vibe coded. The text to speech is very off from what Punjabi sounds like, despite what the Instagram reel skit suggests.

It’s so bad that I can make this app for free in 30 mins. What a shame

### 1/5 — Dari is not a distinct language

*2026-05-16, version 1.0*

Calling the language simply “Dari” without acknowledging that it is Persian is incorrect and misleading. Dari is not a completely separate language. If you specify different Arabic dialects, then you should separate different Persian dialects. Dari is Afghanistan’s standard variety of Persian. The proper term would be “Dari Persian”. Pretending it exists independently from Persian ignores centuries of shared linguistic and literary history. Rumi, Sanai, Hafez, Saadi, Ferdowsi all spoke and wrote in the same language, Persian/Farsi.

At the very least a language app should be accurate with basic linguistic terminology. Please fix this and I will give you 5 stars, the app is good.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-05-16*

No sound when playing back vocab words. Unable to leave customer support ticket

### 2/5 — Lacking a lot

*2026-08-27*

Great concept, but it doesn’t teach scripts and it is severely lacking in audio. Would also be nice to have grammar notes. Fix these things above, especially for teaching scripts, and cut the “free account” false advertising (we all know that doesn’t mean jack when the lessons aren’t free) and it could actually rival Duolingo.

### 2/5 — Sadly AI slop

*2026-08-05*

I was super excited about this - I rarely see a language learning app that offers my need of language, Gujarati. However, immediately the AI-generated pronunciation was awful. phrases as simple as “goodbye” and “how are you” are butchered. If you can’t have a native speaker do your pronunciation, or at the least quality check it, don’t offer it yet!

### 2/5 — Idk

*2026-07-17*

I want to sign in the continue button does not work and when a quiz is loading then i‘m getting kicked out..

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2026-08-19*

I would recommend this

### 5/5 — So happy

*2026-07-28*

This is exactly what I needed, I’m so excited to learn Dari and be confident talking with my bibi Jan

### 5/5 — Full of bugs

*2026-06-07*

Vibecoded app that is full of bugs

### 5/5 — 🇷🇴🇵🇰

*2026-06-02*

🇵🇰🇷🇴

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-05-28*

Helped me learn multiple new dialects!

### 5/5 — Learning a lot

*2026-05-28, version 1.0*

I always wanted to learn a different language other than English. And wallah let me tell you something this app teaches you in ways where you think you’re going to spend 5 mins a day then you look at the time and your 1 hour in. It’s entertaining and you learn quickly. I don’t know how they did it but they cracked the code of fast language learning. If you’re thinking about getting this stop thinking and do it!

### 5/5 — New App but Great!

*2026-05-28*

This is an amazing idea! Very excited to see this beautiful app grow.

### 5/5 — Love that this is for us by us

*2026-05-23*

As someone who’s half Afghan and never really learned Dari growing up, I honestly love that this app exists. It’s been so hard finding accessible ways to learn languages like Dari or Pashto unless you take formal classes or already have people around you constantly speaking it.

This app makes it feel way more approachable and realistic for people like me who want to reconnect with that side of their culture but don’t know where to start. For mixed Afghan families and diaspora kids especially, this is such a meaningful resource. Being able to learn at your own pace from your phone makes a huge difference. It feels less intimidating and more like something you can actually stick with.

### 5/5 — Fun Learning

*2026-05-12*

Silq makes learning of language, easy and fun. The AI power pronunciation helps you learn how to say words. the ease of use of the app lets you learn throughout the day in the middle of tasks.

### 5/5 — So glad I found this app

*2026-05-12*

It’s honestly refreshing to see an app finally catering to languages that are often overlooked. Most mainstream language apps don’t offer Pashto or other Silk Road languages, which makes it really hard for people who actually want to learn it.

This app fills that gap perfectly. It’s super easy to use, very affordable, and you can tell it was built with real learners in mind. I’ve already started picking up so much in a short amount of time, which says a lot about how well it’s designed.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn Pashto, this is definitely the app to try.
