Extremely frustrating. I’m ordering a taxi for tomorrow morning but have no idea if it will come to the right address. ### 1/5 — Review *2024-11-24, version 9.7.92* We took a Silver Service cab today for the first time, it was very disappointing. Vehicle was an aging Ford SUV, and it was uncomfortable and dirty. So disappointed as we expected much better for double the cost of the alternative. So frustrating I switched to Uber. So the driver wants you to pay at the end of the trip. What’s going on app devs?! Do better!! Would’ve rated the app one star except the drivers in this service are actually good. ### 1/5 — Demanding pre payment *2024-03-22, version 9.7.62* Wanting pre payment at the time of booking chatging 140$ won’t let me pay in the cab no wonder cabbies are running with out their meters going to get to the airport. While Uber is charging half that. $71 for the same trip. Go Uber ### 1/5 — App fails both its passengers and its drivers *2024-02-23* On several occasions the app does not process payment promptly or not at all once we arrive at Sydney airport. This means passengers have to pay the driver and then chase Silver Service for any refund that may be due. This creates delays as well as frustration for everyone! And you’re at risk of getting moved along by the transport officials at the drop off zone. And of course no one answers a call - the automated number just assumes we’re all calling to book a taxi. I’ll be looking for a new taxi /chauffer service that’s both clean AND easy to use. ### 2/5 — Old 13cabs used *2024-01-17, version 9.7.62* Just be aware that you don’t always get a silver service cab even when booked day in advance. Still use old falcon 13cabs. ### 5/5 — The perfect drive *2023-08-18, version 9.7.51* Rashid was a wonderful driver and, for me, a spotlessly clean car is a sure indication of pride in his work I only use Silver Service for these reasons and because the driver has insurance cover in case of accident or other misfortune. He is driving this vehicle on Methodone and the criminal activity was all witnessed and on CCTV. He laughed at his disgraceful behaviour, with nil remorse. Driving a Silver Service Taxi on Methodone is not a very good service at the least. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t seem to work? *2026-08-02, version 9.8.1* Tried booking a taxi in Canberra, a capital city several hours in advance to go to the airport. A $100 fair and the app looked for 4 hours for a cab until I couldn’t wait any longer and then I just booked an uber and got one in 2 minutes. ### 1/5 — Price gouge ? *2026-06-09, version 9.8.0* Funny, I booked a cab via silver service. The cost on the ap was $141 (expensive, but I needed to get there on time). When I got in the cab I looked at the meter and saw “fixed price $125”. So I’m being charged $16 to use the ap? I’ve had so many trust issues with cabs and not using their meters, now the official way is gouging us?? ### 1/5 — Dodgy *2026-06-08, version 9.8.0* Some shady stuff going on with this app - book in the app and then the taxi driver says cancel in the app and pay them direct. App shows error when attempting to pay, redirects to “Call local cab company”. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2026-05-04, version 9.8.0* Booking for a future time came up as ‘requested’… not confirmed… so I hit cancel. The Silver Service App does not function well. 1.Pre booking of cabs is no longer an option 2. Once a cab is booked ‘available now’ , the site often says’8 minutes away’ and then disappears - and then another driver later appears with ‘10 minutes away’. - and then disappears again. After three ‘disappearances’ I cancel and book a local cab . Most unsatisfactory. ### 1/5 — App gets stuck in loop *2025-02-18, version 9.7.92* I used the app to get from home to my work ok. Both home and work are saved as addresses in the app. Coming back home I entered my pickup address as work. A warning box comes up saying that pickup and destination addresses are the same. All you can do is click ok. The box keeps coming up and does not allow you to change pickup or destination to NOT be the same. Quitting the app doesn’t help. This is hopeless ### 1/5 — Why uber is still popular *2025-02-05, version 9.7.92* This is app is rubbish. If you book a trip and need to change it (because your plane is 30 mins early for example) you have to cancel and rebook. They have to refund your prior payment and you pay again. Taxi turned up on time, it was a very nice car, the driver was friendly and it was a quick trip home. We will use Silver Service from now on. ### 5/5 — No confirmation of date and time ? *2026-01-29* Why doesn’t this app send you an email or text with confirmation of the date and time you booked. All there is when you open the app is the booking with a time stamp of when you made the booking the previous night. I want him to be my preferred driver. ### 5/5 — Silver Service the Gold Standard *2024-10-30* I could write an essay about Silver Service cabs but to get to the point, it really is the only way to get around when you’re not driving. Great cars, all with their own individual flavor, the most professional and experienced of Drivers and while marginally more expensive then “hop in my Camry while I talk on the phone and keep the air con to myself Uber”, there really is no other way to get from one point in your life to the next. You ride in style, safety and comfort and will have a journey that’ll make you forget you even have a phone and have your eyes transfixed on all these places you didn’t even know were there on the routes only Silver Service Drivers know exist. I need assistance to get in and out of the car due to some injuries. On 19th February Zubair (taxi T5417) picked me up and showed great care in getting me home safely. He willingly set up my walker and saw me safely to my door.
