He calls me and says the app has sent him up an entirely different address. Why? If it wants to use GPS, please give more warning. I almost missed my flight. The poor driver wasted his time too! Please bring back local call centres!!! ### 1/5 — Rubbish- drivers ignore fares *2021-07-31, version 4.3.2* I have tried time and time again to support them only for drivers not to show up or just drive around all day. If you call them they just ramble and pretend they can’t hear you. If you call the call centre they can’t do anything!!!! Pathetic. Called 3 times over 2 weeks, transferred around and around in loops through their phone system. Obviously they don’t want my business. ### 1/5 — The worst *2019-12-17, version 4.2.2* Booked a cab to the airport, it never arrived. Checked my booking and it said I’d been picked up. Called SilverTopTaxi and quoted the booking number, they had no record of it. Missed my flight which cost me $240. This doesn’t even deserve 1 star. ### 1/5 — Worst app and amazingly bad service *2019-12-07, version 4.2.0* The app allows you to order a maxi but it’s not setup for maxi’s so they send a car. Then I call to order maxi, we get in the maxi and then receive phone calls from two other drivers asking where I am. Then the person who sent the cab calls to blamed me for their obviously faulty system.. and then hangs up on me to boot! It is also impossible to set a detailed destination so a pre paid price would not be accurate. There is no email address where I could contact the app provider to be reassured about the service. I’ll stick to the phone with a great company. That’s why the app is so disappointing! ### 1/5 — Worst taxi app *2019-04-11, version 4.0.15* I have had so many issues with this app. Tried to prebook an early morning taxi the night before, the next day I open app and it’s changed the time! Tried rebooking and the app didn’t find any taxis so I cancelled and booked an Uber. Then a taxi arrived at my house after I had spoken to their call center to confirm it was cancelled. (They called me as confused by the app messages they were getting!!!) Absolutely hopeless attempt at using technology by this dinosaur organization. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever-can’t order a taxi! *2019-03-26, version 4.0.15* I’ve tried this useless app on several occasions months apart and when you order, it “searches” for available taxis for 5 minutes and nothing happens, so I just cancel the booking and book Yellow Cabs!!! But after waiting 5 minutes I could see he hadn’t moved on the map so I called him through the app. Took him (“Ahmed”) ages to pick up and when he did I could hear from the other voices that we was in a house, not on his way to me. I asked him about it and he said “it’s only been 5 minutes and you’re already complaining? Get another driver”. Can’t believe the level of rudeness and lack of any care that I was in a rush and was paying him for a service. Worst part: there’s not even any way to give feedback in the app about either the driver or the experience. I wish I could continue to support independent taxis but I’ll never use Silvertop again. ### 1/5 — Dodgy 5 star reviews - avoid this service *2023-10-06, version 4.5.1* The 5 star reviews are fake. See some duplicate reviews. So lazy. The one star reviews are way more accurate and reflect the quality of the service ### 1/5 — I just give up trying to support taxis *2023-07-12, version 4.5.1* I have been resilient in trying to support taxis. I have been a customer of silver top for well over 30 years. But it has come to an end. I try and try again and just put up with the bad service. The app cant find a taxi or the most prominent issue is the driver accepts the booking and either drives in the opposite direction or doesn’t move for 15 minutes. It’s happened the last 3 times. Then ST has the cheek to threaten me for cancelling too many times! At least uber asks me why I am cancelling to reprimand the driver. No, with ST its always the customer at fault. After 30 years, I regrettably have to go to uber and cant support local. You did this to me! Just like everyone else moving on. Just go with Uber and save time. ### 1/5 — Police were called on driver *2022-10-30, version 4.4.2* In a disturbing incident, the Silver Top Taxis driver based in Auburn, NSW threatened to physically harm my wife and burn down my house. The police were called and he was questioned after they found him hiding in the bushes nearby. An incident was officially lodged with the Auburn police station. The victim will be pursuing the matter to the full extent of the law. The app is easy to use and whilst others can be clunky this one has always worked well. Drivers have always been friendly and have sometimes got to my house earlier than expected for those early flights and were happy for me to stumble out of bed :) ### 5/5 — Better than rideshare (Uber) in every way *2022-01-19, version 4.4.0* I prefer taxis because they pay taxes in Australia unlike rideshare apps and we need taxes paid locally to support health and social welfare. Taxi service used to be terrible but it’s now so much better, more reliable and with pricing predictability which is why I use Silvertop wherever I can. ### 5/5 — Great advance *2022-01-19, version 4.4.0* I used to drive for Silver's decades ago in the era of the phone and the radio dispatcher, and I could wish all my passengers had been able to use this app back then. Then they would know where I was and how soon I would be coming; I would know exactly where they were; they could pay with credit cards, PayPal, etc. A great advance. Immaculate vehicle, prompt arrival, enjoyable conversation with expert driver and outstanding after sales service both from driver and administration staff. My wife left a valuable scarf in the cab and it was promptly returned to us by the excellent and courteous driver, who was more than happy to go out of his way to return same to us at home. Rang up 131008 to make sure and got the cab in 5 minutes, which is great in busy period. Very happy with clean car and good driver.
