## What is SilverCloud Health?

*** SilverCloud is provided by a healthcare service that you must be eligible for. Please check with your health service to see if they offer SilverCloud. ***

SilverCloud - Digital CBT

SilverCloud provides a wide range of supportive and interactive programs, tools and strategies for managing mental and behavioral health issues. These programs cover topics such as anxiety, depression, general wellbeing, stress, anger management, improving sleep, communication skills and much more.

Clinical insight and experience is at the heart of SilverCloud's program development process. The evidence-based programs have been researched and written by subject matter experts.

Tools

The programs also offer a broad variety of interactive tools including a journal, a mood monitor, goal setting, audio meditations and many more. These tools aim to empower users to proactively manage and improve their mental and behavioral health.

SilverCloud programs can be used with guidance and personalized feedback from a coach or as a self-guided experience (without a coach), depending on the service you are supported by. If you have a coach, they will review your progress and any messages that you choose to share with them each week. During their review, your coach will reply to your messages and queries, while offering guidance on your next step towards thinking and feeling better.

HealthKit Integration

If you grant access to HealthKit when prompted, time spent in the app will be recorded as mindfulness minutes and will be available for viewing in Apple's HealthKit.

Watch App

The included Apple Watch App also retrieves step count and sleep data, allowing you to observe how your mood may be related to sleep and exercise.

### 2/5 — Shame it’s so clunky

*2026-01-20, version 1.17*

Considering this is an app for people struggling with anxiety, having to log in every time is infuriating. I often need to get to the mindfulness exercises quickly at a moment I’m trying to maintain peace. To open the app I have to log in, with the email field constantly trying to autocorrect my email address to something else so retype 4 times. Then today I forgot my password and it says it will send me a reset email within 10 minutes. The people who designed this app have clearly never suffered with anxiety.

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2025-10-22, version 1.17*

There’s a few glitches like it’s hard to get to the section where you can add a new CBT cycle.
Also the module ‘understanding GAD’ doesn’t define GAD lol, I worked it out eventually

### 3/5 — It’s fine, but not for a crisis.

*2025-05-24, version 1.17*

There are many unfair reviews for this service. It’s there to help you understand the basics of CBT and general ways to manage your mental state. It’s NOT a replacement for in-person therapy, and NOT suitable for people who are in a real crisis. So try it out but manage your expectations.

### 2/5 — Login difficulty every time

*2024-12-05, version 1.16*

I am using this app but I have to enter my email and password every time. I have enabled Face ID but I still have to enter the login. Also there is often no way to navigate back and forth in the app. I have to close it and log back in. Very frustrating

### 3/5 — Log in bug?

*2024-11-30, version 1.16*

If I log in to SilverCloud using Safari it is straight forward, as my login and password are remembered. However, if I try to using the SilverCloud app, every time I have to type in my username (it doesn’t recognise my email) and password, which is annoying. Only then it does a Face ID. What is going on? My username and password are stored in the passwords app!

### 1/5 — Pathetic attempt

*2024-10-08, version 1.16*

Just another app that bombards you with an overwhelming amount of information which you can find yourself!

It wouldn’t surprise me if all the “support” you got from this are bot responses!

Attempted to use this app after being referred to it, made account, answered a questionnaire, and got locked into a page with information on services to call if you need help! Unable to do anything else but just look at that page, great app great support “rolls eyes”

Mentality exhausted before trying this, even more worse off now thanks silver cloud!

Mental health is messed up as it is and the best they can do is send you to an app that clearly doesn’t work for everyone, and they have the audacity to say it’s proven help!

Just because it’s helped a majority of people is no way to verify it’s proven! I genuinely feel sorry for the minority of people that are really trying to help themselves by reaching out for this “help” and getting nothing in return apart from another run around!

What a life !

### 1/5 — Looking for help? Look elsewhere

*2024-08-07, version 1.15*

When I asked my gp for therapy I (perhaps naively) thought that that would involve actually talking to somebody about about my problems and working together to create strategies to help me improve my mental health. I got one phone call to assess me, which was great, and a brief follow up call during which I felt hugely pressured into using this app instead of actually talking to someone, despite me clearly stating that I didn’t think it would work for me and that I’d prefer the weekly phone calls. What I wanted was human interaction and help discussing and working through my anxiety issues. What I got was a bunch of poorly made self help YouTube videos and a weekly typed (copy/pasted) review from my “supporter”. I would highly recommend that if you’re given the choice between using this app or actually talking to a therapist then you push hard to do the latter. I felt completely fobbed off and let down by this service which, for someone already struggling with their mental health, is not a great feeling.

### 3/5 — Decent but not for everyone

*2024-05-07, version 1.15*

The supporters are really nice and helpful, but only being able to send and receive one message a week isn’t very productive.
It’s great if you have absolutely no clue what your doing but maybe isn’t as helpful if you’re already quite emotionally mature or have a mental condition such as autism as it affects the way you process things. It also only deals with the mental side of things, so if the symptoms you’re really struggling with are more physical like pain then it’s not as effective, but can still help ease the weaker symptoms.

### 3/5 — Human Connection

*2024-05-02, version 1.15*

I’m reviewing the service itself, rather than the app in particular. I cannot argue that this may work for some and I, myself did find some modules, tools and tips somewhat helpful. My main personal observations were:

- I’m fairly sure the responses from the supporter were auto-generated (possibly some chat bot usage reviewed by a human or at least mostly scripted), based on what modules have been done and rarely (if at all) had interactive questions or anything digging deeper into your responses.

- The whole programme comes across as another to do item, as it’s made clear there is a ‘strict’ attendance policy, and that feels counterintuitive for users suffering with anxiety caused by overworking, for example.

I didn’t use this programme alone, I found other sources in audiobooks and free internet content that was just as, if not more helpful in some areas, but everyone’s mileage will vary. I cannot fault it more than that, I was skeptical going in but overall I think it has helped me to at least have more tools available in the mindful toolbox.

### 1/5 — Annoying!!!

*2024-04-25, version 1.15*

Tried to turn off Reminders but app won’t save changes or confirm deletion of Reminders which generate an annoying number if emails if you don’t log in. Guess I’ll just have to delete the app!
