### 4/5 — FS2020 Nav Sync

*2025-07-06*

Nave settings don’t sync with FS2020 G1000. I won’t buy the basil until this is fixed. I’m using two iPads and the program otherwise it works perfectly.

### 2/5 — Hangs and Crashes Every Time

*2024-08-04, version 7.4.3*

I’ve been using the Simionic G1000 MFD for a few weeks now. I’m using it standalone (no sim attached, nothing). I’m on the Apple iPad Pro 13” M4 (2024) model with 2TB capacity.

While it works great for a little while (maybe 10 minutes or so), I can always count on it to freeze up. Many times, it will also crash (disappear). It is very frustrating.

To be honest, I wouldn’t spend any money on this if you are contemplating buying it.

The PFD is also buggy, exhibiting similar freezes and crashes.

They work great until they don’t. They both freeze and crash every time. Sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes I can use the app a little longer before I can’t use it.

### 3/5 — May not be what you expect

*2024-02-03, version 7.4.2*

If you are looking for integration with a flight simulator this is not what you are expecting. You can not execute a flight plan in the sim or control the sim G1000 from this app. It does not talk to x-plane other than very basic parameters such as position and engine data.
If you need an app to learn the G1000 system this may be what you are looking for. Garmin makes a PC based trainer but not an iPad app.

### 4/5 — Very happy, but…

*2022-01-17*

Bought the PFD months ago, and so happy with the results, a definetly recommended tool to improve your skills with the G1000, and become a master with thr real system while airborne..

Today I’ve bought the MFD, as I want to improve my skills on it, and also so happy once exploring all its functionalities

The only problem I am having is that there is no way to pair both iPads, as despite being connected to the same local network, neither the PFD detects the MFD, nor the way round:(

Any clue how to troubleshot that?

Thank you!

**Developer response:** The PFD and MFD apps are supposed to connect with each other automatically when they are in the same network. For some unknown reason one or both apps are blocked from receiving broadcast messages. It may recover after a few days without the need of doing anything. There are also users reporting this problem solved by updating iPad OS to the latest version. With the latest updates of both PFD and MFD apps users can enter the IP address of the other side when paring PFD or MFD so discovering by broadcasting won't be necessary.

### 2/5 — Need clarity of app requirement

*2021-12-27, version 7.2.2*

The app requirement, in my opinion is misleading. In my case I just wanted the MFD, but I could not get it to work with MSFS2020. The support (or lack there of) was difficult to obtain any help. I searched YouTube for anything that could help and found one obscure video that the MFD needs to connect to the PFD app, which in turn connects to the flight sim.

C'mon guys...if I'm gonna sink $15CAD, you BETTER make this clear from the get-go. This isn't rocket science. Your site needs work.

Buyer beware.

### 2/5 — Good app with horrible connection with PFD app

*2020-10-12*

The app itself is great, but the WiFi connection with the PFD is incredibly flaky - I frequently have to spend 5-10 minutes trying to get them to connect, usually mid-flight too.

**Developer response:** That’s not normal. Please check your network connectivity.

### 2/5 — Terrible FMS Control - You can’t scroll at all

*2020-10-06*

I got this device to help transition from 30 years of flying steam gauges. Most flight sims don’t include the aux menu so I bought this product to review the cockpit instrument check. The FMS “knob” is so difficult to use it’s almost useless. You need to hit the iPad screen repeatedly just to get the menu to appear, then it disappears before you have a chance to pick your selection. Is there any way to adjust how long the FMS “knob” remains active? If it was user configurable, or if you simply doubled the amount of time the knob was active, MAYBE it would be worth 4+, but as of now, it’s a solid 2.

**Developer response:** Sorry for the inconvenience, but we’ve tried our best to arrange such many controls on a G1000 bezel. You can also press and slide on the knobs to simulate turning the knobs if tapping is not your favorite.

### 4/5 — Good for training

*2020-09-23*

I passed the G1000 checkride yesterday in a Cessna 172S NAV III, transitioning from steam gauges. The Simionic simulators were an invaluable tool that I highly recommend to anybody wanting to learn the G1000 to fly an actual aircraft. Every single task the CFI wanted to see me perform I was able to do without any hesitation or problem. Thanks to Simionic for an excellent learning tool!

### 3/5 — Looks nice, would like sim support without PFD

*2020-09-20*

To enable single iPad usage, it would be a lot nicer to connect the MFD directly to the sim without needing the PFD running as well

### 3/5 — Difficult to use controls

*2020-04-19*

This is a great app and seems to emulate the G1000 very well, however I find the controls are way to difficult to use. Given that the iPad has a keyboard why not use the keyboard for entering waypoints?? Or at least make the plus and minus buttons when you press the knob should stay up for at least 5 seconds instead of the approx half a second currently. If it used the keyboard for entry it would be a 5 star app.

Also agree with previous comment re making available for Cirrus Vision Jet. Would definitely purchase that option.

### 4/5 — Needs Cirrus aircraft including Vision Jet

*2020-03-21*

Great app. As a retired Airline Captain I find this app an enjoyable way to get some stick time and practice instrument procedures using X-Plane. Would like to see something a bit more complex than the C-172 and a bit faster on final. Cirrus aircraft including the Vision Jet would be a great addition.

### 2/5 — Very Disappointed

*2019-09-25*

This app is very difficult and frustrating to use, and there is no user guide to help that I can find. You can spend hours spinning your wheels and getting nowhere.

**Developer response:** If the user guide you are expecting is the G1000 user manual, please download that on Garmin’s website. We cannot include that in our app because that’s what belongs to Garmin. Other than that, the use of this app is pretty straightforward. Anyway, please send an email to lichenpo@hotmail.com if you have any specific questions. We appreciate your feedback.

### 4/5 — Good app with the PFD

*2019-03-09*

This works good with the PFD app, so you need two iPads to make it work, I could not get it to work by itself, but it works great with the PFD app. I have one hardware bezel from the author, and I am saving money for another. I would give it 5 stars if it worked on its own, I did try to contact the author through his website, but I received no reply. The nice thing it works with any plane in X-Plane 11. Connection to X-Plane is easy, and I haven’t had any connection issues, connection to the PFD on the other iPad has been working flawlessly. Using the direct to airport and creating a flight plan has also worked flawlessly, I haven’t tried this on FSX yet, I would like to see support for other planes.

### 2/5 — Not really a standalone app :(

*2019-02-05*

The PFD app is excellent. It allows you to set heading, altitude and airspeed to run the simulation. But the MFD app does not have that function. Therefore it doesn’t really work as a simulator. I would like to use two iPads but there is the problem of having a second compatible iPad... perhaps it should run on the iPhone XS. Or at least let the PFD run on the iPhone so that It can give Hdg, alt, As vector info for the MFD app. ....

Here’s an idea why not just allow an iPhone to generate the vector information that would be transmitted by Wi-Fi so that the MFD can be used as intended?. The iPhone app would not need to do have the same functionality as the PSD just throttle, heading, vertical speed and altitude....

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn't integrate

*2024-03-10, version 7.4.3*

BEWARE if you want to use this app with MS Flight Simulator, it doesn't integrate with flight plans created in FS. Instead you have to enter new flight plans in this app, using fiddly controls to enter codes one letter at at time using the rotary controller. If you have a plane with its own G1000, then the 2 will fight for control on autopilot. It effectively acts as a separate unit giving the sim its own input from its own AP. So while it does act as a G1000 MFD, it doesn't integrate fully into the app.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2022-07-16*

Wanted it to see if I can use the mixture. Was a waste of time and money wish I can return it and get my money back

**Developer response:** This app emulates the MFD functionality of the G1000 system rather than a flight simulator. And, to get full functionality please also download the PFD app on another iPad.

### 1/5 — Not worth spending money on

*2022-04-25, version 7.2.4*

App doesn’t really work, seams like a bata version and doesn’t recognize my inputs. Your location is always set in china. You’re better off just watching YouTube videos

### 1/5 — MUST HAVE PFD???!

*2021-06-13, version 6.0.1*

I don’t have the PFD app. I have a RealSimGear PFD and purchased this to use as the mfd. it won’t work without another iPad running the PFD

### 1/5 — WASTE OF MONEY

*2021-05-15*

This app would be ok, but unless you have two ipads and get the PFD app on one this won't move the airplane. I have bought both apps on one iPad and that won't work. The MFD is a waste of money. Plus the directions are horrible and difficult to even find.

**Developer response:** Sir, on the app’s info page we have already stated that it does not include PFD functionalities and you will need to run PFD on another iPad if you need it. Still, this app includes all functionalities of an MFD. Please feel free to send us an email at lichenpo@hotmail.com if you have any further questions.

### 1/5 — Waste

*2020-01-03, version 5.3.2*

Save your time and money, poor functionality and not usefully to learn G1000.

### 1/5 — Piece of crap.

*2019-01-15, version 4.3.0*

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS. IT DOES NOT WORK. NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I HOPE THEY ENJOY MY $4. IT’S THE LAST THEY WILL SEE FROM ME!!! ..I., ,.I.. Apple and your BS too...

### 1/5 — Freezes at mfd/pfd connect screen

*2018-02-10*

Mfd waste of money. Both iPad find each other’s IP, but then just stay frozen at connect screen. Ipads have 128 & 64 GB

iPad Air and iPad Pro. Wrote to developer no response

Pfd works great by itself

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2018-01-28, version 4.0.0*

I want my money back. Hopeless

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2017-08-24*

Crashes every time it's started. Running on iPad4 which is NOT listed in disclaimer. Reached out to support, never heard back. Waste of money as can't use at all!

**Developer response:** Hi there. We've never received your email. Please contact us at support@simionic.net. We'll appreciate if you provide detailed info of the crash.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app

*2024-10-30*

I like the app, no issues so far. I have one concern though, is it possible to change the location of the aircraft on the MFD ?

### 5/5 — SIMIONICS G1000. PDF and MFD and NXi

*2024-03-05*

I have been using SIMIONICS Flight simulator products for the last two years. This product uses Bluetooth and WiFi technology to connect to X-Plane 11,12; P3D v5, and MSFS 2020 effortlessly. I am presently Beta testing the G1000 PFD and MFD NXi that will soon be available to the flight simulation general population. I also have used FlightSimGear products which will deliver your flight simulation immersion as well. I’m just super impressed on the technology behind the SIMIONICS panel products which allows me to duplicate my lessons after I leave the airport.

### 5/5 — Slow Start...

*2018-12-09*

....but reading the Garmin Pilot Guide while learning the app is the way to go. Currently transition training in a Cirrus and this is very close to the real thing. Just remember to click in and click out on the FMS.

### 5/5 — Perfect with SLAVX.com Panel

*2018-12-02, version 4.3.0*

Incredibly affordable when used with a SLAVX Avionics Panel. Couldn’t be happier with this and X-Plane.

### 5/5 — Exactly what the G1000 does

*2018-07-19, version 4.3.0*

I have over 1500 hours on G1000 and this is so close to the real thing. Support are fantastic and any problems they had years ago are long gone. I use it all the time for currency and testing.

### 5/5 — Fantastic apps!

*2018-04-25, version 4.2.2*

Excellent G1000 sim.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2018-04-01, version 4.1.1*

When used with pfd app it works as promised. Nice job!

### 5/5 — 2 iPads requierd

*2017-02-22, version 3.1.0*

The app is exelent but is very necessary to have 2 ipads to works good, i hope the developer try to update and works PFD and MFD on the same iPad pleaseeeeee.!

### 5/5 — Familiarity

*2016-06-12, version 2.2.1*

Very helpful as a review tool for using the G1000 in the cockpit. Has helped me immensely. I only have one iPad so unfortunately I can't use both the MFD and PFD together. Would be very cool to be able to load one to my laptop(?) and coordinate the two displays with one iPad. Maybe in the future? For now, I appreciate the capability these apps bring to my training and rehearsals before flight.

### 5/5 — Good training device

*2016-05-27, version 2.2.1*

Works well as a stand alone or with FSX/P3D.

I've never been more familiar with the G1000 since I got this and the matching PFD app.

Keep up the good work!
