Interface is a bit busy though, and one too many notification *2026-08-15* It's a really good alternative to TV Time. The interface is richer than what I need. TV TIME was better on this front, but it's OK. Also, I got two notifications for one episode, one when it's about to air, one when it's out ; I need one only as I'm not in the timezone where I need to be notificatied the show starts in 5min. ### 3/5 — Average *2026-07-18* Not as good as tv time. Annoying. ### 3/5 — Good but needs an update *2026-07-03* I just moved over from TV Time and from first glance this app doesn’t everything I need it to but I think to make the app even better it would be nice if when sorting the tvs, anime and movies have a section for all of them in one table and same with searching them, as well as have a sorting filter where you can have the top one being the last watched not just air date and episodes left. Overall good app ### 2/5 — Web app vs IOS app *2026-07-02* The web app is really good and complete, the iOS app not so much. I should be able to ignore past episodes of long running shows so they don't live forever in my next watch list. There was like 4 steps to get to the individual episodes. It’s basically a webpage macerating as an app. It doesn’t even fit the phone screen correctly. It’s clunky, massively oversized font and a confusing array of colours and buttons and disjointed links. Wow this is bad. Anyway, I downloaded, signed up, went to privacy settings and realised you can only make your account private by paying for VIP so deleted account and then deleted the app. All within 7 minutes. Shocking. ### 4/5 — Just need one feature *2025-04-05* I really like this app. The free version does just fine for me. If there was one feature missing that a lot of these tv/movie trackers don’t have is live progress on Lock Screen like Trakt TV has. This is a nice feature to have. ### 2/5 — Great service and website, but app needs an update *2025-04-05* It’s been a couple of years since the app was updated and it is nowhere near as good as using the website. It makes the app redundant to use and puts off users from using simkl ### 3/5 — Needs work *2025-03-02* Now Trakt has moved to a pay model there is a gap in the market. I use this with KODI but the integration is terrible. It’s continuous popups during movies & TV is intrusive and you can leave a rating. Simkl could be a leading contender to plug the hole Trakt left. ### 1/5 — The website is much better than the app *2024-11-23* I thought I’d try out Simkl after using Trakt for quite some time. I will say that the website has some nice features. But this app, wow, it’s rubbish. It’s nowhere near as good as the Trakt app, and the Trakt website is very good as well. Sorry Simkl team, I’ll be uninstalling this and continuing with Trakt. If I’m going to pay for the advanced features, I may as well go with the best. 1 star for the app as it feels half finished, and is nothing more than a glorified front end for basic API calls to watchlists. ### 1/5 — A little buggy *2024-09-17* Don’t use this app, but do use this service. Seems like weird advice, right? Over a year without an update of a very barebones app that was never any good anyway. The web experience is miles better and much more reliable than all the trakt-powered apps I find. Using the site as a web app, it has bad bottom nav bugs and doesn’t always refresh, so I just bookmark the site and go there instead. Wish the favicon was at least legible in Safari with a black background. ### 2/5 — Not much point to it *2024-06-04* The few things I want to use the app for just get redirected to my phone web browser. Everything is fine in that view, so why can’t that be the app? You haven’t updated your app in 3 years?! Why would people use it if you’ve basically abandoned it?! Show the people you care by updating the app and removing the VIP-only uploads!! I guess it updates logged me out and I’ve used the login and password that I signed up with. It wouldn’t log in so I used reset password and it didn’t find me. So lost many hours of work. I would give this a zero if I could but unfortunately I cannot so will have to re-sign up and spend another few hours deleting up. I didn’t have an import file so that is not an option. ### 1/5 — RIP off *2026-07-04* Since TV Time is shutting down I decided to download this and use the free version. Except every time I try to do anything it says due to high demand this request is temporarily part of our PRO/VIP PACKAGE. They cost upto £249. **Developer response:** We've run out of capacity and had to disable the free imports. Our datacenters are actively looking for the needed hardware, due to RAM/NVME shortages and 4X prices as well as holidays, there are delays. Most data centers do not have the necessary high-end equipment available. Whoever wrote it has no idea what they’re doing. The app won’t show you common and standard options like get out of list view. You have to use a web browser for that. Thought I give it a try. I guess many did the same as they “had to” make the import only available for pro/vip members. And ONLY the TV Time import is limited, the other 20+ type of import is available for free. Nice try making money on people looking for their new reliable app. Jokes. It’s easy for me to use, keeps track of what I’m watching, and keeps me well organized. It has not crashed or done anything weird, so it works great for me. But this service is great. Agree with some that the app needs a big update. But the website for the app is incredible. I’ll be hoping for an app upgrade while transferring my data over. This app is the closest to TVTime that I could find of a tracker and social media app combination.
