It was amazing a few years ago, but it seems buggy now. Also seems like it doesn’t pick up as many networks anymore… ### 4/5 — The Solis Lite Just Works *2026-04-25, version 5.3.0* This little Hotspot has been a work horse for me. One of the best purchases I’ve made to keep me connected wherever I go. ### 3/5 — Needs som polishing *2026-03-23, version 5.3.0* I have only been using the app for a few hours and while it works it’s lacking some features and that would make it much more user friendly. Adding “sign in with Apple” would significantly improve the sign up process. As it stands the “sign up / in with email” doesn’t play nice with Apple passwords. Apple passwords will not automatically suggest a password, no fill in credentials after sign up. This requires awkward cutting and pasting of credentials. Adding “sign in with Apple”, working correctly with Apple Passwords app, or adding Face ID / Touch ID would be a big improvement. Also accepting Apple Pay for payment would be convenient and provide additional security. It’s 2026 and no one wants their credit card information in yet another database. This use to be a really good product that provided really good service, but it’s really dropped off over the past few years. Constant connections problems, low data caps before throttling, and it’s expensive too. It’s use to be premium service at a premium price; it’s still a premium price but now the service is 3rd rate. I use to recommend this service, but I no longer can and will start shopping around for an alternative for myself. They’ve also pushed a lot of things through their app now too, like activating your plan. However, you need the internet to log in to the app to activate your plan. If you don’t have internet or cellular access, you can’t login and activate your plan to have access. This also means that if their device isn’t connecting to the internet correctly, you can’t tell it to search for a new signal because you are locked out of the app without being able to login. You can’t even reliably determine the battery level if it won’t connect. All of these are new changes from the device and service I first started using more than 10 years ago. ### 2/5 — THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS!! *2025-12-22, version 5.2.5* Although I’ve had multiple SOLIS/SIMO devices and used them for overseas trips with their unlimited DAY PASSES, I am outraged at the false and misleading subscription campaign. I selected a $69/mo unlimited global plan and next thing they want to charge $99/mo after 1st month as the discount was just for first month???!!!!! Sneaky and malicious and they lost me as customer. Loyalty and retention means NOTHING to this company. I now have a $49/mo. unlimited plan with another carrier with similar device. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DON’T FALL FOR THESE SCHEMES!! ### 5/5 — Best Mobile Hotspot WiFi *2025-12-14, version 5.2.4* This is the best mobile hotspot WiFi option available. The Solis Pro is the best mobile Hotspot device and the monthly subscription plan is great. I use it for business and personal and still have enough. In that time I have visited more than 25 countries. I have only found 2 countries where I could not use SIMO. And they were in West Africa. Live chat functionality doesn’t work, requiring access to via their website. Will not be using again. You pay for “unlimited data” for a day, but in reality, you only get a limited amount before your service slows down or cuts off. And when you do get service, it’s weak, spotty, and constantly disconnecting. Completely misleading. On top of that, the customer service is awful and the plans are ridiculously overpriced. Honestly, it’s not worth a dime. It’s sad how many businesses today operate with zero integrity—caring more about squeezing money out of customers than actually providing value. They access the internet via a Solis Pro and I manage the account through the app. It makes it very easy to ensure that my parents are on an appropriate data plan and I can easily add or upgrade plans. I also like that I can see how many days or GB remain. I can tell how many devices are connected to the hotspot, and the current cellular signal strength and connection type. The number of connections lets me determine if my parents are home or not, which is pretty cool. Excellent app, device, and choice of plan options.
